This is the Rx7 that you've been looking for!! Stock exterior, solid interior, and exceptional engine modifications. This is the ultimate street sleeper (though it will turn heads everywhere you go)! The paint is in great shape. I'd rate it at a 9/10. There are some very minor markings on the roof. Easily fixed with touch-up paint. If I didn't mention it, you'd probably not even notice it. I'm the 3rd known owner of the vehicle and all the cosmetic alterations were done before I owned it. The front fenders, fog lamps and emblems are from the JDM FD Rx7. The JDM fenders have the turn signal over the wheels... USDM had them over the front bumper. There is a slight discoloration on the driver headlamp cover. I'm guessing it was replaced by previous owner as these are VERY common to fly off when driving. I've went over every nut & bolt on this car. It's not going anywhere :) Interior is in great shape for a 21 year old sports car. I'd rate it at a 7/10. The interior was originally tan (as most RX7s). Previous owner has converted it to black. There are some scuff marks on the cargo bins that hint to it's original coloring. The seats are railed MazdaSpeed seats. I'm 6'4" and fit in the car without any problems. It is missing a fan knob. You can pick these up on ebay or Rx7Club.com for about 20.00. It never bothered me so I never fussed over it. It wouldn't be hard to make this a 10. The engine is a 11 out of 10. The engine is a freshly rebuilt rotary engine. All engine modifications were done either by me or by a dedicated rotary-only Rx7 shop. The build was with an emphasis on power and

Mazda's Hofu plant builds its ten-millionth car
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Ten million is a lot no matter which way you cut it, and no matter what you're talking about: Ten million dollars, ten million miles, ten million people... certainly ten million cars. And that's the milestone that Mazda's Hofu plant in Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan has just achieved.
The Hofu facility has been in operation since 1982, and was supplemented with a second plant on the same site ten years later. Hofu reached a million units built in 1986 and five million in 2002. But with production now at 482,100 units per year, it took less than twelve years to double that previous milestone.
The magic ten-millionth car was a new Mazda6 (known locally as the Atenza), which is built at Hofu Plant No. 2, while Hofu Plant No. 1 gears up for the new Mazda3 (aka Axela). Scroll down below for a related press release.
Why the 38-mpg 2014 Mazda6 is on dealer lots, but you can't drive it
Fri, 21 Dec 2012If you stop by your local Mazda dealer this month, with any luck, you'll see the much-anticipated 2014 Mazda6 parked in the showroom - there are already a few hundred of them out there. That's quite an accomplishment in light of the fact that it isn't even calendar year 2013. The move is part of a strategic decision by the Japanese automaker, which is hoping to capitalize on holiday showroom traffic. (The last five days of the year are typically among the busiest dealer days all year).
If you happen to spy the rakish sedan, you may notice something missing - a window sticker. That's because Mazda (like other automakers) can't legally display the Monroney on a 2014 model year vehicle until January 1, 2013. According to Autoblog sources, Mazda dealers are legally prohibited from letting you test drive until the start of 2013, so it's more of a sneak preview than anything else. Even so, we reckon shoppers will be impressed when they finally get a look at those window stickers - Mazda hasn't announced fuel economy figures yet, but Autoblog has learned that the 2014 model will carry a pair of impressive numbers: EPA estimates of 27 miles per gallon in the city and 38 mpg on the highway using regular gas.

Why a production Mazda Koeru won't be a Subaru Outback clone

The Subaru Outback is one of those automotive bogeys that competitors seek to imitate but never quite capture. Mazda is poised to change that, its CEO tells Automotive News, with a production version of the Koeru concept. We're torn on whether this attempt will be the one to do it, whether the proposed model is truly aimed at the Outback, or whether it's just another pale imitation destined for failure. While the ingredients are pretty basic – wagon-like shape, extra cladding, a smidge more ground clearance than a regular car – no automaker has had a hit quite like the Outback. Reasons include packaging issues, poor brand fit, and Subaru's seemingly unstoppable momentum in building all-wheel-drive archetypes. That hasn't stopped a bunch of companies from trying. And now for a list: Ford attempted with the Freestyle/Taurus X; note that that model no longer exists, having been replaced de facto by the Flex and the newly crossover-ified Explorer. Audi discontinued the A4 Avant and slapped the Allroad badge and some fender flares on to capture the affluent outdoorsy crowd, initially selling well but now down 40 percent since last year. The humpback Honda (Accord) Crosstour and Toyota Venza could also be considered Outback-apers, as both short-lived models took sedan bodies and added a hatch and optional all-wheel drive. Dodge got into this space a few years back with the Journey Crossroad trim level, but fake brush guards and black wheels do not an Outback make. Volvo has perhaps come closest with the XC70, a not-quite-crossover that it nevertheless brands like its other crossovers. It helps that the Volvo die-hard and the repeat Subaru buyer aren't too different. Most of these models no longer exist, and the ones that do haven't sold as well as Subaru's Outback so far this year. Even if you're generous and add all 96,718 Journey sales (and not just those for the Crossroad, which FCA doesn't break out separately) to V70/XC70, Venza, and Crosstour, it still doesn't equal the 136,227 Outbacks Subaru pushed through November of 2015. And, as Automotive News points out, Mazda hasn't sold that many crossovers so far this year (the number is 129,932 thanks to huge CX-5 numbers).
