Up for sale is my 1988 RX7 Convertible It has roughly 75,500 miles on it with the original motor and transmission. This car has had many upgrades done to it and is a blast to drive! You're welcome to test drive it, but it'll be in the shop getting the brake master and clutch slave cylinders replaced this week. (also, I have 3 of the 4 center caps. Wheels came without them, bought 4, but package got busted in the mail and one was lost. You'll receive 3, spares are about $20 on eBay) Good: The convertible top WORKS (Switch was just replaced with a fresh rebuilt one! Common problem with the original switches!) A/C works great! Heater works great! All power windows roll down! Leather interior with headrest speakers! (unknown if they work) New battery New plug wires New spark plugs Fresh oil change New Brake Master Cylinder (part included) New Clutch Slave Cylinder (part included) No rust Only small dings and scratches, no major damage! Also includes a set of S5 tails! List of upgrades: Racing Beat exhaust header Full custom dual exhaust Koyorad radiator for increased cooling Tokico struts with lowering springs Steel braided brake lines Steel braided clutch lines Custom white anodized roll bar JDM brand steering wheel Short shifter Air intake Known issues: Radio turns on, but buttons don't function, will need replaced. Needs tires 'Bouncing' idle when cold. It's likely the TPS, doesn't affect driving or performance. Part is on the way, and will be installed before pickup. The paint is flaking off in the usual places. This is normal for the age and due to the fact that the hood and trunk are aluminum... and well, it's just hard to get paint to stay on aluminum. Mazda6 Skyactiv-D Racecar ready to bring diesel to Grand-Am
Tue, 15 Jan 2013It may not be quite as radical as some of the company's past rotary racers, but the new Mazda6 Skyactiv-D racecar does have a notable powertrain underhood: the automaker's brand-new clean diesel four-cylinder engine.
Three of these new diesel-powered Mazda6 racers will take to the track in the Grand-Am GX class of the upcoming 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 26, with five drivers on each team. The car you see above, number 70, is sponsored by Mazda's longtime motorsports partner, SpeedSource.

Mazda books first yearly profit in half-decade, NA still a drag
Tue, 30 Apr 2013Automotive News reports Mazda has posted its first annual profit in five years. The company made $364.3 million in the last fiscal year, following a $1.14 billion loss the year prior. Operating profit also jumped up by $91.3 million to $572.8 million, thanks in part to a revenue increase of 8 percent to $23.42 billion.
But the news isn't all rays of sunshine. North America continues to be a problem for Mazda where the automaker posted yet another loss. The manufacturer lost $519.1 million last year, up from $427.8 million the year prior. While the launch of the CX-5 helped see US sales increase by 2 percent to 273,000 vehicles, the region as a whole bought up 372,000 units. Mazda had predicted closer to 380,000 units.
Even so, Mazda says it should have North America back in the black by next year, with the company forecasting a sales increase of 11 percent to 415,000 units in the region. That's thanks in part to a boost from the redesigned Mazda6 sedan.
