1988 Mazda Rx 7 Convertible Arizona Car on 2040-cars
Lake Havasu City, Arizona, United States
Thanks for viewing my auction.
If you are new to e bay or have less than 10 positive feedback scores , DO NOT BID, as i have had too many problems with new people and your bid will be cancelled. I have a very nice Mazda Rx 7 convertible for sale. The little convertible has spent its' entire life in the Southwestern desert between Arizona and Nevada so rest assured it is RUST FREE. Due to the nice weather we have yearlong out here, the top has always been down for as long as I have owned it. The top is in very nice shape with no rips nor tears. The car runs excellent and has never presented a problem. The odometer reads 133,000 but the previous owner had the motor freshened up at some point at Racing Beat, a well known So Cal performance Rotary shop. The actual miles are less than the odometer, but I do not know the true number, but it pulls hard through all the gears. I would NOT HESITATE to drive this car cross country at a moments notice.(if the weather was nice ...no snow) The car was re prayed in the factory color using all PPG products from primer to clear-coat. The entire body was color sanded to 3000 grit before being buffed and polished. The little car has a great shine (which is tough for the color white) and has a nicer finish than most show car finishes. Extras: Aftermarket shocks and spring Upgraded exhaust (not obnoxiously loud) Aftermarket sound system Corbeau Suspension seats (so comfortable you might fall asleep in them) K&N cold air intake All emblems shaved (welded up correctly and not done with filler) Overall just a nice convertible sports car that you will not find in this nice of shape very often. An awesome car to take out when the weather is favorable for back road motoring or a sea shore drive. Shipping arrangements and expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. I will gladly assist in any manner that I can. I will be happy to store the car at no charge for the buyer until shipping arrangements can be completed. The car will be picked up in Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406 at my commercial building which has plenty of access for 18 wheel truck and tractors. A non refundable $500 deposit is due immediately upon auctions end and full payment is required with in 7 days. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks and happy holidays! I |

Takata airbag recall spreads to China with 42k Mazda sedans
Mon, 07 Jul 2014The scope of the problem with the faulty airbag inflators from Takata continues to broaden and is now reaching China, as well. Mazda is recalling 42,732 Mazda6 units there, produced by its local joint venture partner China FAW Car Company, to replace the front passenger airbags. It comes as part of Mazda's recall of nearly 160,000 vehicles worldwide, including about 34,600 in the US, according to Reuters.
This is the same problem that caused seven automakers in the US to recall an estimated 2.1 million vehicles in late June. The airbag inflators can potentially explode instead of deploying the airbag, which hampers the bag's inflation. In some cases occupants are also hit by the metal shrapnel, which can cause further injuries. In the US, Mazda is repairing the 2003-2007 Mazda6 (pictured above), 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6, 2004 MPV and 2004-2008 RX-8 originally sold in or currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii.
This is hardly the first instance of this issue. Since 2001, there have been 20 recalls tied to the exploding airbags supplied by Takata. The problem is possibly linked to the propellant in the inflators, but there's no conclusive evidence of that yet. Most of the automakers in the US limited the most recent recalls only to a few humid states because moisture potentially exacerbated the problem.
Next Mazdaspeed3 could look this good
Fri, 28 Jun 2013Mazda showed off its brand-new 2014 Mazda3 at an event in New York City earlier this week, and we have to say, at first blush, we're pretty impressed. It looks fantastic - like a smaller, hatch'd version of the already sleek Mazda6 sedan that went on sale earlier this year. And with a 200-pound weight reduction, efficient Skyactiv gasoline engines underhood and Mazda's usual focus on driving dynamics above all, we're willing to bet that the new Three will be a pretty decent steer.
Of course, being enthusiasts, we're already setting our sights on the next-generation Mazdaspeed3, rendered here by artist Theo Chin. To our eyes, it's not a very imaginative transformation, but is likely a spot-on rendering for what the next car will look like. And it's really, really hot.
While Mazda hasn't exactly confirmed that the new Speed3 will be coming, sources within the automaker have indicated that a third-generation version of the MS3 is under development. Thing is, the Japanese automaker wants to give the standard Mazda3 some time to grow in the market, so we might not see the new Speed3 until something like 2016, with a possible diesel version to arrive before then.
Scion FR-S pitted against oldtimers RX-8 and S2000
Tue, 07 May 2013There are very few vehicles available today that compare directly with the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins. A case could be made for the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and possibly even six-cylinder versions of American coupes like the Ford Mustang. Pretty much everything else is either too expensive or is powered by the wrong set of wheels.
The boys from EverydayDriver on YouTube decided the only fair way to judge the inherent qualities of the Toyobaru twins was to pit them against two standard-bearers of years past: The Honda S2000 and Mazda RX-8. Neither of these cars is an exact matchup, with the Honda boasting a convertible top and the RX-8 offering more practicality via a rear seat and two reverse-opening doors for easier access. What they do offer, however, are similar performance stats and proven reputations for excellent handling.
None of this talk answers the real question, though: Which one wins the comparison test? Scroll down to watch the video, and be prepared for something of a surprise conclusion.
