1979 Mazda Rx-7 Gs Coupe 2-door 1.1l on 2040-cars
Ontario, Canada
Unbelievable condition.... like it rolled right off the lot!!
Only 9,600 actual miles!!! This gorgeous 1979 Mazda RX-7 has spent all of its 35 years in Michigan... originally from Dearborn, it has been lovingly cared for all these years. All original inside and out, no bodywork whatsoever and undercarriage is clean. Original paint in excellent condition, interior perfect with no rips or tears in the seats, no cracks in the dash. Power antenna and hideaway headlights work, as does the AM/FM radio. Five-speed manual transmission shifts perfectly, brakes are solid and all electronics work (except the clock). Comes with the original owners manual and even has the original RX-7 key chain. This car is literally like going back in a time machine!!! My mechanic was amazed at the condition of this car when I purchased it and he looked it over for me. Only issue with is a small dent in the rear passenger corner, from when the car was parked in the garage and a piece of garden equipment fell into it. I'd love to keep it but I have five cars on the go right now and one of them has to go. This is a U.S. car that's located in southern Ontario, right on the Michigan border. |

2014 Mazda6: July/August 2013
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Our newest long-termer - the Soul Red 2014 Mazda6 seen here - arrived in my driveway at the end of June. Without hesitation, I immediately put it to work as a daily driver, carpool bus and family vacation sled, and it accomplished all of those tasks with aplomb. Now, more than 4,000 miles down the road, I am left convinced that Mazda's latest midsize sedan is one of the best in its segment.
During the past 60 days, I have subjected the Mazda6 to scorching travel across Southwestern deserts, wheezing climbs over 8,000-foot-high Sierra Nevada mountain passes and basking in the cool ocean breezes of Malibu. It traveled with four passengers and a full load of luggage from Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe, and it braved the bumper-to-bumper freeway congestion on a weekday trip down to San Diego. It accomplished everything that was asked of while hardly skipping a beat - it has only required a regular sip of unleaded fuel to keep it moving forward.
2016 Mazda2 gets EPA-rated 43 mpg highway
Fri, Apr 10 2015To paraphrase the famous quote from astronaut Neil Armstrong, that's one small step for man and one giant leap for the Mazda2. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has weighed in on the new Mazda2 version, and says it gets a fuel-economy rating of 33 miles per gallon city and 43 mpg highway with a six-speed automatic transmission. Stick-shift gas-mileage figures are 31 city and 42 highway, which are still substantially better than the 29/35 rating from the most recent iteration of the model. That's about a 15-percent jump in fuel economy, people. More importantly, the Mazda2 beats out competitors such as the Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio Eco and even the Honda Fit in terms of fuel efficiency, which is pretty good company. The Mazda2 boasts a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. But it is the upgrade to six-speed transmissions in both manual and automatic versions that seem to be making the biggest difference in the ratings. Mazda started unveiling details about the next-generation Mazda2 last year, and last fall began production of the model at Mazda's new factory in Salamanca, Mexico. At that time, the Japanese automaker had already sold more than 2.4 million Mazda2 vehicles since the model's introduction in 1996. Related Video:
Mazdaspeed2 supermini hot hatch under consideration
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Though the Ford Fiesta ST and Fiat 500 Abarth (and arguably the Mini Cooper S) may stand pretty much alone in the North American market, in overseas markets, supermini hot hatches are a big deal. Unfortunately, challengers like the Volkswagen Polo GTI, Seat Ibiza Cupra and Renault Clio RS 200 Turbo never make it to our showrooms, but word has it that there's soon to be a new entry on the market.
That would be the Mazdaspeed2, which would be badged in certain markets as the Mazda2 MPS. Speaking with Australian site CarAdvice.com.au at the launch of the Mazda2 on which it would be based, the Japanese automaker's global sales chief and the hatchback's deputy product manager hinted that such a product is definitely being discussed, even if it hasn't yet been approved.
This wouldn't be the first time such a notion were entertained, as Mazda has shown numerous performance concepts based on the previous Mazda2/Demio over the years, but none have come to fruition.
