Statesboro, Georgia, United States

This is a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 GT. It has 137XXXk miles. Clean title in hand.

This MS6 has all options except Navigation.

Please do not mistake this for the normal Mazda6. This is a factory performance model with a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine. That means great mpg while still providing excellent performance. I am the third owner, and this car is garaged and driven on very short trips to work 5 days a week.  I'm selling for 2 reasons: I don't get to enjoy the car like I want to, and I need more room for a growing family. I've included all the info I can think of below.  Please ask me for additional information or pictures.

Mechanical Condition 9/10:
  • The Good
    • No Check Engine Lights
    • No Variable Valve Timing (VVT) or timing chain issues
    • No smoking turbo
    • No gear grinding at ALL
    • No clutch slipping at ALL
    • Nothing is leaking (including the power steering and leaking transfer case)
    • Babied with expensive Rotella Oil Changes
    • Recently cleaned throttle body, so the car idles perfectly.
    • All lights work - HIDs and Fogs included
    • A/C BLOWS COLD
  • The Bad
    • The EGR. So, I deleted it
    • Check with your State's Emissions.  There is no Check Engine Light because the Cobb Accessport put the EGR in "Not Ready" Mode.  Most states allow at least one component to be in a "Not Ready" state, so you should be fine, just check.
Cosmetic 7/10:
  • The Good
    • NO RUST (It's been a Georgia Car all its life)
    • No accidents
    • Paint still shines
    • Front bumper resprayed because I hate paint chips
    • Repaired dent in the passenger's side door (the repair is well done, but because it's a black car, an up-close eye can see that it is not perfect. But honestly, you can't tell in a photo because the black paint is so reflective)
    • Sunroof and all power items work
  • The Bad
    • Attempted to respray the driver's side mirror was not very successful (see pic)
    • The rear view mirror glass is not 100% (see pic)
    • The driver's side exhaust cover is cracked (see pic)
    • The bin that sits on top of the radio has a broken tab for the cover.
    • Leather Seats have a small and repairable tear on the driver's side bolster and the rear seat (see pic)
    • This is an 8 year old car, so there are some water marks in the paint - mostly on the trunk and roof
    • The light behind a/c knob doesn't illuminate
Mods 10/10:
  • EGR Delete (Stops yucky carbon from sucking back into your engine)
  • Cobb Accessport V2 (Allows you to read codes, load custom maps, and basically have full management of your car's Computer)
  • AEM Cold Air Intake (Allows more air into the turbo)
  • Cobb Turbo Inlet Pipe (Also Allows more air into the turbo)
  • 25% Tint All Around, and 5% tint strip on windshield
  • Fuel pressure is great (will send data logs upon request)
  • These Mods have really woken the car up without risking anything or putting strain on the drivetrain
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
  1. $ 500 DEPOSIT WITHIN 24 HOURS OF SALE ENDING....PAYPAL OK
  2. REMAINING BALANCE IN A CASHIER CHECK OR CASH ONLY (NO PAYPAL) WITHIN 2 DAYS
  3. IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK, I WILL REPORT TO EBAY AND THE SALE WILL BE CANCELED

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri XR2

Mon, Jun 5 2023

Just a year after the Mazda MX-5 Miata first went on sale in the United States, Ford's Mercury Division began selling a similarly-priced two-seat convertible here. This was the 1991-1994 Mercury Capri, and I've found an example of the hot-rod turbocharged version in a northeastern Colorado car graveyard. The Capri name has an illustrious history within the Ford Empire. First used on a Lincoln in 1952, it went on to serve as the name for a hardtop version of the early-1960s Ford Consul in the UK, then as the designation for a low-end trim level on the 1966-1967 Mercury Comet. Starting in the 1969 model year in Europe (1970 in North America), Ford began selling the best-known Capri of all: a sporty coupe based on the Cortina, sold through Mercury dealers in the United States but never badged as a Mercury here. Sales of that Capri halted here after 1978 (they continued through 1986 in Europe), but the Mercury Division then moved the name over to its version of the 1979-1986 Ford Mustang. After that, Ford Australia took the Capri name for a new Mazda 323-based sports car beginning in 1989. Then Dearborn decided that an Americanized version of the Australian Capri would be a success on this side of the Pacific, and left-hand-drive Capris began showing up in American Mercury showrooms in late 1990. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of those first-model-year cars, and it's the very rare turbocharged XR2 version. While this car was intended to be a competitor for the Miata, it's really that car's Mazda cousin. Both cars got their power from 1.6-liter versions of Mazda's versatile B engine, though the Capri had the same front-wheel-drive setup as its 323/Protege (and Escort/Tracer) platform siblings. At the same time, Ford was selling Kia-built Mazdas with Festiva (and, a bit later, Aspire) badging, alongside Mazda MX-6s with Probe badges. Just to make things interesting, American Mazda dealers were selling Ford Explorers as Mazda Navajos, while Rangers with Mazda badges followed starting in 1994. The 1990s were Mazda-riffic times at Ford! This car wasn't the first Australian-designed, Mazda-based Ford product sold in the United States. That honor belongs to the 1988-1989 Mercury Tracer, which was based on the same Mazda 323 platform as the Capri and built in Mexico. Later on, the Tracer remained a member of the 323 chassis family but was a nearly identical twin to its Ford Escort sibling.

Mazda Koeru concept forecasts next CX-9 in sleek form

Wed, Sep 16 2015

Mazda rolled in to the Frankfurt Motor Show this year with the Koeru concept you see here. The showpiece is the latest embodiment of the Japanese brand's Kodo design language, applied with dramatic effect to a large crossover shape. Could this preview the next CX-9? The Koeru takes its name from the Japanese verb for "going beyond," and the reason is plain to see: though created by a mass-market brand, the concept could easily belong to an upscale marque like Infiniti (which offers a range of crossovers), Jaguar (which just revealed its first), or Maserati (which is preparing to get in on the action as well). It strikes us as aggressive as it is elegant, with taut lines and sporty details from the sharp lights to the muscular wheel arches. Few technical details as to what lies underneath it all were made available. And these show cars often lack working underpinnings to speak of anyway. But Mazda says that, beyond the styling, it optimized the aerodynamics over the upper body as well as underneath it to reduce turbulence and "enhance vehicle stability when driving at speed." It's also said to encompass the company's latest Skyactiv, i-Activesense, and Mazda Connect technologies. Which is all well and fine, but we're looking forward to seeing what innovations the company might incorporate if and when the Koeru (hopefully) transitions from concept to reality. In the meantime you can scope it out in the live and stock image galleries above and below. MAZDA KOERU The all-new crossover concept proposed by Mazda Mazda Motor Corporation is unveiling the all-new crossover concept Mazda KOERU for the world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. The Mazda KOERU demonstrates Mazda's unique and daring interpretation of a crossover vehicle, proposed for the fast-growing crossover market. Featuring the full suite of Mazda's new-generation SKYACTIV technologies and designed under the KODO—Soul of Motion design language, the concept offers sporty yet delightfully refined styling and driving performance. The name "KOERU", which literally means "exceed" or "go beyond" in Japanese, comes from Mazda's aspiration to deliver value that goes well beyond the existing category norms and standards. As the latest incarnation of Mazda's new-generation products, the Mazda KOERU crossover concept offers styling that exudes power, vitality and a new level of polished refinement.

Mazda struggles to meet demand on rising sales

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

For Mazda there's good and not-so-good news on the heels of strong US sales in 2012: demand is high - especially for the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 - but supply is low, TheDetroitBureau.com reports. That's partly because all Mazda production happens in Japan, since it ended its alliance with Ford and pulled out of a joint venture with the blue oval building cars in suburban Detroit last year.
In 2012, Mazda sales here jumped 26.4 percent, but 2013 sales through August have just been keeping pace with the overall US auto industry, increasing at a rate of 6.8 percent. Mazda North American Operations director of marketing and communications Jeremy Barnes says that sales have slowed because the company is facing challenges delivering products here.
