2009 Mazda: Mazda5 Touring Automatic on 2040-cars
Port Huron, Michigan, United States
Up for sale is my 2009 Mazda Mazda5. This is the Touring model and includes LED tailights. I am the original owner and have records off all the maintenance that has been performed by me and others on the vehicle. The Mazda5 is in very good condition, with a few paints chips on the front from highway driving. The Mazda5 is used mostly for driving on the highway, and I would normally get over the EPA mileage estimates. The car runs really well and has not had any engine issues at all. The tires were changed at about 45000 miles and are Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Great for all season, the have been rotated and balanced about every 6000 miles and have no issues. Extras that I added to the car include professionally tinted windows, a Wheelskins Leather steering wheel cover, and replacing the factory speakers with Pioneers. I am selling the car because my family has outgrown it. The Mazda5 will carry 6 people, though the folding back seats don't fit those over about 5'8. The chairs in the front and 2nd row are very comfortable and with the back seats folded down, there is a huge amount of storage. Nothing has been lost or damaged on the car. All devices function, I have both remotes, and the spare tire has never been used, though I do check pressure every summer and it holds air just fine. The vehicle is located about 60 miles north of Detroit, just off of I-94. I can work with potential buyers to see the car, as I work in Dearborn. Thanks for looking. Any questions, please ask.

Top Gear recounts the fiery demise of the Mazda Furai
Mon, 02 Dec 2013This past September we reported on Top Gear's destruction of the Mazda Furai, one of the finest concept cars to ever grace an auto show stage. It turns out that the Furai, which was burned nearly beyond recognition at the hands of the British magazine, was actually destroyed back in 2008, and that the entire thing had been covered up for five long years.
Now, a few months after publishing that heart-wrenching composite of a half-baked Furai (shown above), the lads at TG have published their account of just what resulted in a priceless concept car being transformed into a smoking hulk on a Suffolk runway. Click over to read the full story about just what happened, along with pictures of the Furai before, during and after the inferno.
2014 Mazda6 Skyactiv-D Wagon
Thu, 21 Feb 2013This was sort of a quirky surprise drive opportunity. I've been over here in Italy for a while now, and Mazda Italia contacted me seemingly out of the blue to drive test some version of the Mazda6 with a diesel engine. Supremo. The Mazda6 is a sexy everyday beast and I have been digging their SkyActiv-D engines for a while now. Very spirited units.
My contact phones me the day of, and says he can come by with the car, and then we'll head off to some sort of special spot for dynamics testing and technical conversation. Nice deal, say I.
My guy Ernesto pulls up outside of the house and - lo and behold - it's a dang Mazda6 station wagon with the very most recent 2.2-liter SkyActiv-D motor good for 148 horsepower and healthy 280 pound-feet of torque. The wee four-banger with 14.0:1 compression ratio hauls this 3,260-pound wagon around with the best of them. A decent 0-to-60-mph time of 8.7 seconds, too.
Mazda2 production fires up in Mexico
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Mazda has officially kicked off production of the next-generation Mazda2 at the company's new factory in Salamanca, Mexico. Alongside the auto assembly plant, operations have also commenced at the facility's engine machining factory.
"With the start of production of the all-new Mazda2, operations underway at the engine machining plant, and an increase in our annual production capacity, we now have an even stronger production framework capable of supplying global markets with Skyactiv products of the same high quality level as those made in Japan," Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operation's President Keishi Egawa said in a statement. "At the same time, we are pleased to be able to make a contribution to Mexico's further economic growth."
MMVO joins Mazda's Hofu Plant in Japan and the Auto Alliance factory in Thailand, which commenced Mazda2 production in July and September, respectively.
