1985 Mazda Rx-7 Gsl-se 59k Miles! Rare Color! Extremely Original Survivor on 2040-cars
Campbell, California, United States
Hi everyone and thanks for looking at my 1985 RX-7 GSL-SE Chances are if you are looking at this, you already know about what makes this car special from factory so I will only touch upon that stuff briefly and let the pictures do most of the talking..
This particular car is a Royal Maroon code 3A GSL-SE made in April of 1985 This was a very limited production color and rumor has it that there were only two each given to each dealer in the USA. One had leather and the other had the Grey cloth of which this one is. The only option this car does NOT have is power steering. The GSL-SE had every other option available and being a 1985 and late production one at that, it had some other nice things. The GSL-SE had upgraded clutch and 5 speed as well as a limited slip differential and stouter rear suspension with gas charged shocks The best part is the fuel injected 135 hp 1.3L rotary motor known as the 13B. This motor kicks ass!! Air conditioning as well as upgraded stereo, lumbar adjustable and height adjustable drivers seat, 14inch wheels ( 205-60-14 ) ok so now about this particular car…. Yes, it only has 59K original miles. The interior is beautiful, and it has never been in an accident or been hit. It has never been repainted but the clear coat on the hood is starting to check quite a bit. The color is still there but the sheen is gone on the hood only The best thing about this car is how amazingly original it is. It has not been messed with but it has been taken care of. Just about everything with the exception of the fluids is original! The pictures speak for the condition but they can't tell you that the AC works perfectly, all interior lights illuminate and all warning lights function as they should. Even the light for the ignition switch lights up when the door is open. map light, over head light as well as rear cargo light work The stereo functions perfectly, even the weird directional switch in the console works. The electric windows operate at a good speed, Cruise control works, horn and all ventilation stuff works perfectly. The rear defrost works but the rear wiper does not and the power antenna makes noise but thats about it There are no cracks in the dash, the glovebox light works and all dash lights at night glow a beautiful red. The center console box/lid is excellent The headliner is mint, the carpet is excellent and the original floor mats are present. The steering wheel is perfect ALL glass is original Mazda with proper markings I replaced the rear glass hatch shocks but I still have them, I replaced the spark plug wires ( they are dated 1985!!!) and I still have those as well The engine starts easily and does not smoke. The radiator is clean and free of corrosion. Nothing has been altered in the engine bay I did replace the spark plugs and O2 sensor. The clutch is smooth and does not grab or chatter. the brakes are excellent The tires are ehhh… about 75% worn but I have driven far on them and they seem to be just fine. This car is tight as a drum, no rattles and no leaks. NO LEAKS!!! There are misc tiny nicks and scratches here and there.. its 30 years old!!!! The drivers door weatherstripping is dried out and cracked. Still seals OK though The windshield is perfect!! Not chipped or sand blasted and its original mazda as well I wish I could keep this beauty but I don't care for how I fit it in and neither does my son. You can drive this anywhere. I have TONS of pictures that I will post a link at the end for you to go to. Now, here are some extra cool things I have the original window sticker, all original books and manuals including a factory service manual It has the factory rare as hens teeth REAR SEAT!! with seat belts. It folds down too! I still have the original storage boxes with lids that will go with the car, One of the little locks is missing on one of the boxes I have the sunroof black storage bag and If you want I can get you the optional glass sunroof for $50 bucks from my local shop This car pulls hard!! Handles like a dream, tight as a drum and rides excellent. You will be pleased Feel free to call me with any questions. Peter (408) 466- 3838 LOTS AND LOTS Of additional pictures are available simply by asking me for them! I couldn't figure out how to add a link for them but I can send this to you Note to Ebay, HEY!! get with it and allow more pictures.. please :) Please note that I work on Monday and Tuesday and can be hard to get ahold of between 10am-7pm on those days, otherwise, Im pretty free and will do my best to answer anything else I may have forgot to mention here. Title is free and clear PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING, PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO BUY THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. HIGH BIDDER WILL TAKE IT HOME! Thanks everyone, good luck to you all!! Oh and a few more things… There is NO Rust or Corrosion anywhere! No bubbling paint excuses. No peeling paint or mismatched panels etc.. Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
2015 Mazda3 finally pairs 6-speed manual with larger engine
Mon, 15 Sep 2014With all of the hype and anticipation surrounding the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, the Japanese brand was able to sneak another driver-oriented model into its lineup. The company's spec page for the 2015 Mazda3 hatchback and sedan have been updated to list the Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder as finally being available with a six-speed manual transmission, in addition to the previous six-speed automatic. The automaker had promised the row-your-own gearbox with the bigger engine back when it first announced the new Mazda3, but it waited a model year to actually put the combo on sale.
According to Mazda's specs, the manual gearbox trims 40 pounds off of a hatchback or 54 pounds off of a sedan in s Touring and s Grand Touring trims. However, shedding that weight doesn't necessarily boost fuel economy. The six-speed hatch is rated at 26 miles per gallon city and 35 mpg highway, compared to 27/37 for the automatic. The manual sedan is rated at 25/37 city/highway mpg, versus 28/39 with the auto. Buyers can save a little money by opting for the manual, though. Regardless of body style, it's about $1,050 cheaper than the automatic.
Autoblog reached out to Mazda and learned that the 2.5L 6MT models started hitting dealers in August. The 2.5 wasn't initially available with the stick because, "We had to prioritize engineering resources and the 2.5L 6MT was not a high priority combination. Globally, smaller engines are preferred in terms of sales," a Mazda spokesperson explained via email. The automaker also notes that Austrailia will probably be the only other market outside of North America to get the six-speed gearbox with the larger engine.
Mazda prices 2016 CX-3 from $20,840
Thu, Jul 16 2015Been eager to put your cash down on the hood of a new 2016 Mazda CX-3, but haven't known just how much to take out from the bank? You can call your branch manager now, because Mazda has released pricing details for its new subcompact crossover. The MSRP for the new CX-3 will start out at $20,840, including an $880 destination charge. (Alaskan buyers can expect to pay an extra $45 on top.) That's for the base-level Sport model with front-wheel drive. Tack on another $1,250 for all-wheel drive if you think you'll need the extra traction, but either way it'll be channeling 146 horsepower and just as much torque from a 2.0-liter inline-four through a six-speed automatic transmission. Step up to the Touring model and the retail price jumps up to $22,840 (with delivery), plus the same $1,250 for the AWD option. There's a Touring Technology package available for another $1,410 that includes moonroof, satellite radio, and cargo cover. Finally at the top of the line is the CX-3 Grand Touring for $25,870 (delivered), available with that same i-Activ all-wheel drive system, and an i-Activsense package that throws in an array of electronic conveniences and safety systems for another $1,920. So while you can get away with paying as little as $20,840 for the base model, a fully loaded CX-3 can run you as much as $29,040.
