I am selling my Velocity Red Mazdaspeed Miata. It has 49,000 miles. If you are looking at this ad you probably already know that this is the factory turbocharged edition of the smaller four cylinder Miata's. It has 180hp from the factory. I do not want to sell the car at all but I need to. I am firm on the price and it is a very good deal. It is the GT package with BOSE, leather seats with red stitching and cloth top. The car was owned by an older gentleman until last year. It is ten years old so there is some wear and tear but I do detailing on the side and it sure does shine. The paint has a nice flake in it after a good polishing. I purchased the car and did a few simple modifications. Very reliable and a ton of fun! I drove the car to Myrtle Beach and back with no problems at all. Top down, it was great!
I had the local mazda dealer, who I have known for awhile, do a once over on the entire car. He changed the oil and said everything was good. Modifications: Flyin Miata full turbo back exhaust - great sound Flyin Miata intake kit - includes new throttle elbow pipe, blow off valve and manual boost controller Set to 10psi currently Miata roadster short shift kit with blox weighted shift knob LED fog lights that are wired to be DRL so they are on all the time when the car is on HID headlights Grom ipod adapter - play and control ipod/iphone through factory radio upgraded windblocker speakers Trunk pop kit - opens and stays open when popped 15x7 cm1 wheels with 195/50 tires - less than 5,000 miles on them. Lightweight and much more relaxed than the stock 17s LED plate lights/dome and red led under the seat that come on with headlights Tinted windows It is a great car, fast and fun. I have the title in hand and need to sell ASAP. Thank You |

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata to be revealed on September 3 [w/video]
Thu, 03 Jul 2014Now in its 25th year and on the market in its current form since 2005, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has been due for replacement for some time now. A mid-life facelift helped things along some in 2008, but the moment that roadster enthusiasts have been anxiously awaiting is almost upon us.
Mazda has now confirmed that the 2016 MX-5 will be officially unveiled on September 3 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca just ahead of the "Miatas at Mazda Raceway" event, where the Japanese automaker will also display "an array of heritage, concept and motorsports MX-5s," just as it did alongside the upcoming new roadster's Skyactiv chassis at the New York Auto Show.
Not to leave the European and Asian markets out of the fun, Mazda will simultaneously unveil the new Miata in Spain and Japan as well. But in the meantime you can view the teaser video and press release below to keep that excitement drummed up.
Half of Chinese car buyers won't shop Japanese over hard feelings
Mon, May 26 2014The hard feelings between China and Japan is no real secret. Besides modern-day disputes, the two countries have had a long-running enmity that dates back to well before the atrocities of World War II. All things considered, then, it shouldn't be a shock that half of Chinese car buyers wouldn't consider a Japanese car. This survey, conducted by Bernstein Research, found that 51 percent of 40,000 Chinese consumers wouldn't even consider a Japanese car – which, again, isn't really surprising, when you consider stories like this. According to Bernstein, the most troubling thing is the location of these sentiments – smaller, growing cities where the population is going to need sets of wheels. We imagine it wouldn't be as big of an issue in traffic-clogged Shanghai or Beijing, but these small cities are going to become a major focus for automakers. "Nationalistic feelings are an impediment. [Japanese] premium brands will struggle," analyst Max Warburton wrote in a research note, according to The Wall Street Journal. Things will improve for Japanese makes, although China will remain a challenge, with Warburton writing, "the one thing that comes out most clearly is that most Chinese really want a German car. While we expect Japanese brands to continue to recover market share this year, ultimately the market will belong to the Germans." There are a few other insights from the study. According to WSJ, Japanese brands are viewed better than Korean brands, and they're seen as more comfortable than the offerings from Germany or the US, despite the fact that everyone in China apparently wants a German car. This is a tough position for the Japanese makes to be in, as there's really not a lot they can do to win favor with Chinese buyers. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, particularly as the importance of the PRC continues to increase year after year. 2014 Mazda6 i Sport
Fri, 01 Feb 2013In an automotive landscape dominated by platform sharing, technology exchange and any number of other cross-fertilization/cost-saving/amortization exercises, it's actually pretty rare that we get to drive a new car that is as "all-new" as this, the 2014 Mazda6. With brand-spanking new Skyactiv architecture throughout - engine, transmission, body and chassis all included - this 6 represents a new era of flexible production and cutting edge running gear for the happily lithe car company.
Our own Jonathon Ramsey did a cracking job of running the Mazda6 through its First Drive paces a few months ago, and sufficiently impressed upon us just how good looking a car this is for the midsize sedan segment. Suffice it to say, now, then, that this is easily the most interesting (and quite possibly the most beautiful) midsize sedan in the segment today. However, as Mr. Ramsey reviewed a fully contented example of the 6 - one equipped with the six-speed automatic transmission - we took advantage of Mazda's North American launch event of the car to suss out the base Mazda6 i Sport, complete with its six-speed Skyactiv manual gearbox. This may not shock you, but the stripper's pretty good, too.
