Up for sale is my 2001 Mazda Miata. This car has been garage kept, and only has 24,978 original miles on it. carfax report in hand. THE CAR HOLDS A SALVAGE TITLE. The reason for that being is, the car was in an accident where the driver side quarter panel and the driver side door were damaged, the shock absorber got bent and the driver window shattered. Everything is fixed and working properly. The shock absorber was replaced with a brand new one, window was bought used, and dents were fixed by you cant even tell that it was ever in an accident. All the work was done at a body shop and i have receipts to prove it all. I have pictures of when the car was damaged. This car is mint condition. Hasnt even been broken in yet. Still has the factory plastics in a few places as well. Engine bay is flawless. Top has a glass window with defrosters. Top looks brand new no faded spots or cracks or holes. top does not leak. has power windows, cruise control, ABS, power mirrors, A/C, ENKEI RPF-1 wheels with TOYO PROXES tires 95% Thread left on tires, and heater and a few other options. This car comes with a 1.8 engine which is extremely good on gas very fuel efficient. has a 5 speed manual transmission feels like brand new. again, this car has a salvage title please dont email me asking why it is what it is, because i have explained it all in detail in the beginning of the ad.

In fact, the assembled crowd was surprisingly youthful, particularly amongst the club racer set and tuners. But one young Miata owner and superfan unfortunately wasn't in attendance - Thomas Jost, 19, was busy fighting for his life in a Maryland hospital.

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes
Fri, 07 Dec 2012At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
