1996 Mazda Miata Mx-5 W/ Hard Top Manual Trans - Zoom Zoom on 2040-cars
Saint Charles, Illinois, United States
You are bidding on a used 1996 Mazda Miata MX-5 convertible with approximately 84,000 miles on the odometer. This car is in great running condition and a blast to drive with or without the top down. I am the third non smoking adult owner of this Miata and while in my possession has been garage kept and not driven in winter. Here is a list of the features and options:
Mechanically the car runs great with the exception of a small valve cover leak I have been meaning to fix but have not. The engine pulls you just enough to make you smile when approaching red line. Shifting is effortless with a quick flick of the wrist. The clutch, brakes, and fluids are all in great shape. The tires are at about 70-80% and should last a few years depending on how you drive. A few years ago I had the rear main seal replaced along with all the seals in the transmission. Wheels do not have any major gouging or cracks however they could use a paint job. As I mentioned the hard top has been repainted but you really have to look hard at the window gasket to tell. The car has typical dings, scratches, and chips for a car this age. Unfortunately the rocker panels are rusted and bubbling in some spots as you can see in the pictures. The rust is contained to behind the front tires and in front of the rear tires along the black painted rocker panel. The rest of the paint shines up nicely with a little wax. Windows are clear and the interior cloth seats have no rips or tears. This car is a BLAST to drive and just fast enough to get you in trouble if you let it. This action is for local pick up only in the western suburbs of Chicago. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. If you leave a phone number I will call back after working hours. Please take a look at my 100% positive feed back I have always received. I have sold 2 cars previously on E-Bay and have always had positive feedback. You can bid with confidence. Apon winning the auction a $500 deposit to my PayPal account within 3 days is required. The remainder of the balance is due in cash and must be completed within 10 days of auction ending. Good luck bidding and thanks for your interest in my auction. |

Forza Horizon G-Shock Car Pack brings Nissan IDx, Subaru Brat [w/video]
Tue, Jan 6 2015With winter's icy grip around much of the nation, now may be the perfect time to sit inside at night and enjoy some video games. The latest six-car G-Shock pack for Forza Horizon 2 on the Xbox One is now here, and it gives players a very eclectic group of vehicles to race around the game's open world. This month's group of vehicles spans the decades ranging from 2015 back to 1953. The newest and only concept of the group is the 2015 Nissan IDX Nismo. Since the production chances for this retro coupe look increasingly slim, this game might be your only chance to get behind the concept's wheel. However, if you prefer driving something a bit more classic and Italian, the 1953 Ferrari 500 Mondial is available. To add one more flavor of performance, there is the 2010 Mazda Mazdasped 3 hot hatch, which is also this month's free car for download. In addition to three takes on the sports car, Turn 10 is also offering a trio of off-roaders. The quirkiest among them is the 1980 Subaru Brat GL, which features two jump seats in the back to avoid the dreaded chicken tax. If you prefer something more boxy and American, then the 1975 Ford Bronco is sure to please. Finally, for some real power to get through the mud, there's the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as tuned by Shelby with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 making 575 horsepower. As usual, the whole pack costs players $5 to download, or it's free as part of the season pass. Scroll down for a brief video showing all of these virtual rides off and read the press release about them from Turn 10 Studios. This content is hosted by a third party. Are you ready to hit the roads of "Forza Horizon 2" for Xbox One in some new rides? You better be because the G-Shock Car Pack is lighting up the new year with some amazing vehicles. Leading off the pack is a "Forza" First: the 2015 Nissan IDx NISMO is making its videogame debut in "Forza Horizon 2." The IDx prototype harkens back to Nissan's storied automotive history, with its compact size and aggressive appearance, and looks to the future with some serious under-the-hood performance. Take a spin in this gem, and you will be startled by its performance and charmed by its presence. The remaining cars of the pack also have "Horizon Festival" written all over them.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata and saving a marriage
Mon, Apr 6 2015I've had the privilege of knowing Zach Bowman – former Autoblog scribe, now penning great things over at Road & Track – for nearly a decade. We met at the Detroit Auto Show when we were both relatively new to the business, and joked about how someday, we'd work together and eventually conquer the world as big shots in the industry (we're still figuring that last part out, by the way). Thus, I was thrilled when Zach joined Autoblog in 2010, just a couple of months after I was hired, and was equally saddened when I learned he'd be leaving us. Zach is someone I'm proud to call a colleague – nay, a friend – and I've enjoyed the voice he's brought to this line of work. I tell you this on a personal level because Zach has just published what you could arguably consider his most heartfelt piece of automotive work to date. It's a charming, emotional story about his relationship with his wife, and how they, like so many young couples, learned to make marriage work through the many ups and downs found in any solid relationship. I call this "automotive work" because Zach intertwines this tale into a story about driving his 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata across the country, his wife by his side, learning about love and life from the cockpit of a two-seat roadster. I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've read in a long while. Rather than continue to wax poetic about Zach's latest piece, I'll let his own words speak for themselves. Head over to Road & Track to read the full piece.
Fourth-gen Mazda MX-5 Miata could get turbo power later in life
Thu, Aug 6 2015While there's a lot to love about the new Mazda MX-5 Miata, its debut was met by a vocal group of enthusiasts who derided the fourth-generation roadster's reduction in power output. The new model only puts out 155 horsepower, down from 167 in the NC. A report from Australia, though, claims Mazda may yet address the less potent output of the ND. Things started earlier this year, as Motoring.com.au tells it, when Mazda's global PR boss, Kudo Hidetoshi, hinted that a turbocharged or Mazdaspeed model "will definitely" be considered. Then last month at Goodwood, the ND's program manager, Nobuhiro Yamamoto, said complainers were welcome to get their thrills elsewhere. Recognizing this contradiction among Mazda's brass, Motoring asked Yamamoto-san again about his statements, which he seemed to walk back. "It's not a conflict [between statements made by Yamamoto and Hidetoshi]," Yamamoto said, indicating that his statements were made in relation to the new MX-5's launch. "Kudo-san talked about this in terms of a 10-year lifespan, but when I was asked the question right after the launching of the ND, I said 'we have no plan to have a turbo at that point in time.' That is what I meant." Seeking an opening, Motoring pushed the Japanese engineer on the chances of a more potent MX-5, perhaps without a turbocharger. "If you could achieve what we want, to which is great response, very light and powerful with great performance feel with natural aspiration, then we don't need a turbo," Yamamoto said. "But if we want more power because we don't get satisfied with natural aspiration then we may think about the turbo." Related Video:
