First year production model for the 1994 Mazda Miata M-Edition.  Only 3000 produced in 1994, and only produced for 4 years. Very rare car, if you can find an M-Edition and especially in good condition.

All 3000 1994 M-Editions were produced in Montego Blue Mica (color code M8) with tan leather interior and tan top.  Top and back window was replaced in the last 2 years.  Color is unique and looks blue until the sun hits it when it appears to be a beautiful rich green/blue shade. Top is new and in excellent shape.

Special and Standard Features: Standard Nardi wood shift knob and hand brake handle, polished 7 spoke 14" wheels, air conditioning (works great), stainless M Edition sill plates, original M-Edition custom mats (have normal wear).  Includes all A and B package options which include, power steering, leather wrapped steering wheel, power mirrors, alloy wheels, torsen limited slip differential, cruise control, power windows, headrest speakers (and they still work),and power antenna (new).

Car was purchased in 2006 for my son to drive while he was in high school. At that time the car had 88000 miles. I bought the car locally and it was purchased new in Spartanburg SC.  He outgrew the car so it was sold to a friend (school teacher) until I bought it back from her this past year. Car has been garaged most of the time since 2006, and from the appearance prior to that as well.

The car runs and drives great. It's a 4 cylinder 1.8 liter with 128 hp.  The gas mileage is great, around the low/mid 20's. I replaced all brake pads and tires in 2008, and are not in need of replacement yet.  Since I've owned the car I've replaced the pwr antenna, the water pump, and the timing belt. I added the chrome roll bar in 2007, I replaced the stock radio with a Pioneeer radio/CD player complete with I-Pod connection, and 250 watt speakers.  Sound is great.  I  have all the original parts that have been replaced, such as the original radio. All interior and paint are original, with the exception of a small panel in the passenger sear I had replaced because of a tear, and the same seat has a small scratch (but not a tear).  In 2007 a deer ran into the front of the car so we replaced the hood and nose/bumper.  All the work was done by a local custom shop and looks as good if not better than original. As you can see from the pics the paint looks great for the age, and while there are some small imperfections and nicks nothing serious.

I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have to ensure you have a clear understanding of what you are bidding on.

The car is for sale locally also so I reserve the right to end this sale at anytime.

Autoblog editors choose their favorite racecars of all time

Thu, Feb 26 2015

If you like cars, there is a good chance that you like racecars. There's something about the science and the art of going faster, of competition, of achievement, that accelerates the hearts of enthusiasts. It doesn't matter the series, the team or the manufacturer – there's something about racing that stirs emotions and lifts spirits. It's that way with many of you, and it's that way with our editors. With that in mind, we offer a list of our favorite racecars of all time. Of course, we'd like to hear some of yours in the comment section below. 1970 Porsche 917 Compared to some of the obscure choices by my colleagues, I feel like the Porsche 917 is almost so obvious a pick as to not be worth mentioning. Still, when coming up with my answer, my mind invariably went back to this classic racer – specifically in its blue-and-orange Gulf livery – while watching Le Mans on DVD and later Blu Ray with my dad. Long, low and curvaceous, few vehicles have ever looked sexier lapping a track than the 917. More than just a pretty face, this beauty had speed, too, thanks to several tunes of flat-12 engines over the course of its racing life. In the early '70s, Porsche was a dominant force throughout sports-car competition, and the 917 (shown above at the 1970 24 Hours of Daytona) was the tip of that spear, including back-to-back victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Largely without dialogue or really much of a traditional plot, Le Mans is like a tone poem of racing goodness. While the 917's importance to motorsports history is undoubtedly fascinating, it's still this cinematic depiction of the Porsche racer that draws me in most, especially with the volume cranked. – Chris Bruce Associate Editor 1964 Mini Cooper S How could everyone not be selecting the 1964 Mini Cooper S piloted by Paddy Hopkirk and Henry Liddon? That car, 33 EJB, took the first of British Motor Corporation's four Monte Carlo Rally wins (it should have been five, but French judges got the British Minis [and Fords] disqualified on a technicality regarding headlights... which its own car, the winning DS, was also in violation of). The tiny red car and its white roof beat out Ford Falcons, Mercedes-Benz 300SEs and scores of Volvos, Volkswagens and Saabs. This, along with the several years of dominance that followed, cemented the idea that not only could the tiny, two-tone Mini be a real performance vehicle, but that family-friendly city cars in general could be fun.

Mazda CX-3 almost ready for LA Show

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

The Mazda CX-3 is just days away from its unveiling at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, but elsewhere in the world, the Japanese brand still has the compact crossover disguised for testing. These spy shots aren't too camouflaged though, and when combined with the previous teaser image, they give a pretty clear idea what the new model will look like.
The grille here is well covered, but the photo from the front reveals the similarities to the design sketch. The rear shows a similar horizontally oriented design as the Mazda2, which the CUV is based on. However, the dipping sides around the B-pillar from the teaser don't appear to be on this tester. Even with all the swirls, the vehicle looks fairly attractive.
Mazda is doing a fantastic job of keeping mechanical details about the CX-3 a secret. It's not yet known whether the model is front-wheel-drive only or if all-wheel drive is also an option. The crossover also likely shares the Mazda2's engine, which isn't revealed for North America, yet. The diminutive CUV will compete with a huge crop of new classmates, including the Fiat 500X, Jeep Renegade, Chevrolet Trax and Honda HR-V. Check out the gallery for the latest glimpses of this Japanese CUV just days ahead of its full debut.

Mazda3 Skyactiv-Hybrid and CNG Concept shown in Japan

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

Mazda has received a tremendous amount of public and industry praise in the last few years, following up the successful introduction of its Skyactiv technology (powertrain and otherwise), with strong products like CX-5, Mazda6 and most recently, the Mazda3. At the Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda has taken yet another step forward with Skyactiv and the 3, showing the compact (called "Axela" in Japan) with an all-new compressed natural gas engine in the Skyactiv-CNG Concept.
The end result of the Skyactiv-Hybrid is fuel consumption estimated at something like 74 miles per gallon.
Mazda thinks that CNG-powered vehicles are due for an uptick in demand, and the company believes this new powertrain will add valuable breadth to the Mazda3 range. The CNG Concept is actually a duel-fuel vehicle, capable of running on either natural gas or gasoline. In fact, we're told that the high compression ratio (14:1) inherent in Skyactiv-technology gasoline engines makes conversion to CNG particularly simple.
