Take a look at this hard-to-find black Miata is in good condition with only 82,050 miles! This car is dependable, gets about 27 MPG, and is FUN TO DRIVE!! It has premium wheels, ABS air bags, body molding kit and tires are in great shape. It's a 5-speed and blows very cold AC. It has power windows/mirrors, CD player, cruise, is black on black and did I mention FUN TO DRIVE? Now the bad: my daughter backed into her grandma's truck and slightly damaged the rear bumper (see 2 pics) and dented the trunk near the license plate (also in pic). Estimate for new rear bumper is around $350 and was quoted a couple hours of labor to pop the small dent out of the trunk.  I chose not to turn into insurance company but to sell the car AS IS.  The car works well and is fully functioning including the trunk. My other daughter (yes, twins) rear-ended someone after school last fall at about 25 mph and we replaced the hood and front bumper/spoiler through the insurance company and work was done by the best body shop in Dayton area. The car RUNS GREAT and is driven daily. Based on my twins' driving so far, I'm getting them an SUV. Black is a hard-to-find color and I hate to sell it because I enjoy driving it myself at times but need to move it. I'm selling car AS IS and have provided pics of the dings on the back end. I am negotiable on the price and do have a loan on the car. If you're serious about the car, please feel free to e-mail or text me at 937-nine seven four-six two zero one between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. to see if car is available. AND NO TRADES PLEASE! Thanks for looking! ****Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early in the event it sells locally.

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri

Mon, Sep 19 2016

Ford has gotten a lot of use out of the Capri name in the United States. First, there was the Lincoln Capri in the 1950s, followed by the Ford Capri Mk1 (which was sold by Mercury dealers in the USA but never actually badged as a Mercury). Then came the 1979-1986 Mercury Capri, built on the very successful Fox Platform and essentially a clone of the Mustang. Finally, in 1991, the Australian Ford Capri came to the United States. Here is an example of this rare car that I spotted in a Northern California self-service yard not long ago. Mechanically speaking, the 1991-1994 Capri was a Mazda 323 under the skin, complete with a member of the same B-series engine family that went into such cars as the Miata and Ford Escort. So, for a few years in the early 1990s, car shoppers who wanted a sporty Mazda convertible could choose between a Miata and a Capri. The Capri had front-wheel-drive, but could be had with factory turbocharging. These cars were reliable and fun, but had a tough time competing with the Miata in the showroom battles. You'll see the occasional example now and then, but most of the 1991-1994 Capris have met the same fate that awaits this one. Related Video:

Mazda CX-3 details come to light

Sun, 09 Dec 2012

Mazda may be working on a new CUV, according to Auto Express. Reportedly called the CX-3, the small crossover will be engineered to take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke, but with a focus on fuel efficiency and engaging driving characteristics.
The report names no sources, but says the CX-3 will benefit from a new small-displacement diesel engine. The 1.6-liter oil burner will be joined by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine when the vehicle debuts in 2014. Auto Express reports the model may bow as a front-wheel drive offering only, with no all-wheel-drive option.
And what will it look like? Word has it Mazda will continue to leverage the face we've seen on the current CX-5 (pictured). That means the company's shield grille will make the jump, but with more plastic lower body cladding. Inside, Auto Express says the CX-3 will offer buyers fold-flat rear seating for extra cargo capacity.

Mazda2 nets Japan Car of the Year, Cherokee first US model to ever crack top 10

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

The 2015 Mazda2 is quite high up on our must-drive list. Yes, the teeny, tiny successor to the 100-horsepower five-door is worth getting excited over, largely because the previous generation was one of the absolute best smiles-per-dollar values on the market.
While we eagerly await for our opportunity to take to the 2's helm, our expectations of the new car have just been heightened thanks to its win in Japan's Car of the Year competition. Called "Demio" in the land of the rising sun, Japanese journalists handed out Mazda's second COTY award since the CX-5 took the title in 2012.
In more surprising news, the new Jeep Cherokee has made the list of 10 Best Cars in Japan. The Jeep's triumph marks the first time an American car has cracked the top ten, finishing eighth. It's not, however, the first Fiat Chrysler vehicle to snag the title, following in the footsteps of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Fiat Panda. Still, the fact that an American brand can make such impressive inroads into the traditionally tough-to-crack Japanese market is a seriously big deal.
