2007 Mazda Cx-7 Grand Touring Sport Utility 4-door 2.3l on 2040-cars
Reading, Massachusetts, United States
Mazda's sporty 2007 CX-7 looks quite carlike from the front and rear, with a large air dam, fog lamps, and prominent fenders from the front, and round taillamps and large dual exhausts from the rear. Yet from the side, the profile is that of an aggressively styled SUV. Mazda says that the CX-7 has great aerodynamics and a best-in-class coefficient of drag, thanks in part to a 66-degree windshield slope and underbody aerodynamic work. The interior has seating for five adults and comes with two-tone themes including matte-metallic and leather trim. The back seat is split 60/40 and folds forward flat for combinations of occupants and cargo. And the CX-7's cargo floor is longer than comparable models, according to Mazda, with 39 inches of cargo length with the rear seats up--good enough for three golf bags--and 70 inches of continuous flat load surface when the back seats are folded forward. The cargo floor is also reversible; one side of it wipes off easily for messy cargo items. Compartments inside have also been designed for what is likely to be stored in them. For instance, the center console compartment is large enough to hold a laptop computer. The CX-7 comes with a single engine, a turbocharged, 2.3-liter direct-injection four-cylinder that makes 244 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, matched with a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. The engine is similar to the engine in the Mazdaspeed 6 sport sedan but has a new turbocharger for better low-rev response.Ride and handling qualities are very carlike, due to the four-wheel independent suspension layout, with MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link arrangement in back. There are anti-roll bars in front and in back, and large 18-inch alloy wheels are standard. There are three trim levels available, Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring, and each is available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Mazda launches 25th Anniversary Miata pre-order site, priced from $32,205
Fri, 02 May 2014Mazda made a big celebration of the MX-5 Miata at the 2014 New York Auto Show with a bunch of classic models on display. It capped off the model's 25th birthday with the announcement of the 2015 MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition and showed off the much-anticipated, next-generation version's chassis.
While we are still at least year away from the new Miata hitting the road, the anniversary edition is on its way and is limited to just 100 copies for the United States. The special cars start at $32,205, compared to $23,970 for the 2015 softtop model and $28,665 for the 2015 retractable hardtop version. There is an additional $795 destination charge for all of them.
To make sure everyone gets a chance to own the ceremonial convertible, Mazda has a countdown on its website until 10:25 AM PDT, May 20, 2014. When the day comes, 250 people can to register for the car, and the first 100 to be verified as buyers get the rare Miata. Those with multiple entries will be disqualified.
Mazda brings slick sports-car concept to Tokyo
Wed, Sep 30 2015Mazda teased a slick spots-car concept Wednesday that will debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The as-yet unnamed concept promises to blend elements from the company's heritage with a sleek and modern shape. It apparently takes the form of a front-engine, two-door coupe – always a favorite configuration – with a sloping roofline and classic hood-to-greenhouse ratio. It'll be displayed alongside the Koeru concept (which returns home for its Japanese debut), a handful of MX-5 Miatas, and a classic 1967 Cosmo Sport 110S – the marque's original, rotary-powered sports car. We have a good feeling that it's the latter from which the new concept principally draws its inspiration, albeit with different dimensions than the long-tailed original - and hopefully a little RX-7 thrown in for good measure. We'll have to hold on a while longer to find out, but we're looking forward to seeing the finished product. Mazda to Unveil New Sports Car Concept at Tokyo Motor Show -- Japan-debut of Mazda KOERU and racing-spec Mazda Roadsters among fourteen models on display -- HIROSHIMA, Japan, Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda Motor Corporation will hold the world premiere of a new sports car concept model at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, which runs from October 30 through November 8.*1 A total of 14 models will be on display at the Mazda stand, including crossover concept Mazda KOERU making its first appearance in Japan, two racing-spec Mazda Roadsters (known as Mazda MX-5 outside Japan) and the Cosmo Sport (110S outside Japan), first introduced in 1967. The design of the sports car concept to be unveiled in Tokyo is modern but maintains a sense of lineage and authenticity, appearing almost to condense Mazda's entire history of sports car development into a single model. In line with the company's theme for the Tokyo Motor Show this year, "Accelerate toward our dreams," Mazda will make an appeal for the brand's unique approach to driving pleasure. In addition to the sports car concept, Mazda KOERU will be on display along with new-generation models featuring SKYACTIV Technologies and KODO—Soul of Motion design. A motor sports exhibit will feature racing-spec Roadsters and the Cosmo Sport will complement a heritage display showing Mazda's history of convention-defying engineering.
