I have a 1996 Mazda B4000 4wd ext cab truck for sale or trade. It has a 4.0 Liter V6 and 5 spd manual transmission, 130k miles, and new PA inspection in December. It has a fresh oil and filter change, and fresh Autolite Double Platinum plugs. The a/c and heat work great, interior is in nice shape and the body and paint are great, only had some damage on passengers side fender from a deer, but not too bad at all. The body is rust free and no paint fade. The truck has a rear slider window and bedliner, as well as a trailer hitch. The rear bumper is loose and does have some rust, should be replaced at some point. It does have an engine light on due to a vacuum leak because the intake plenum needs new gaskets, I just bought the gasket kit but didn't get to replace them. I was told by my mechanic that this is not a big deal or big job, just didn't get it done yet. I drive the truck every day basically. It has been reliable and never left me sit. The truck truck does run fine, but seems to lack some power going up hills, I'm not sure if it is due to the vacuum leak in the intake plenum causing a bad mix of air and fuel or if maybe the converter is clogged, it doesn't run hot and nothing came up on the emissions about it, so I'm not sure, its been that way since I bought the truck last May. It does have 3 new rear leaf spring hangers and shackles, along with new leaf bushings that are polyurethane and made by Energy Suspensions. I have the remaining bushings for the last one, just didn't get to it yet. I have 2 vehicles and both are clutch, and this is causing a lot of issues with my left knee, so I am looking to sell this so I can get an automatic. I really like this truck a lot but my other car is a resto project, and I have too much work and plans for it, so the truck has to go. This truck is a nice truck and can be real good with some minor work here and there. I have mounted fog lights on the front bumper, they just need the switch mounted under the dash and wires run, its a new kit and I do have the rest of the stuff to finish it. I am selling the truck as is, where is, you MUST pick the truck up at my residence, or if you are a PA resident, I can meet you at a notary close to my house to do the title transfer. The truck has no warranty, I have however, disclosed everything I know about the truck as far as what it should need or may need. It has been a reliable truck for me, I'm just looking to get something with an automatic transmission at this point, otherwise, I wouldn't be selling this one. Thanks for looking!

Yes, the Mazda BT-50 pickup is real. No, you can't get one.
Wed, Jun 17 2020Mazda exited America's pickup segment when it deep-sixed the Ford Ranger-based B-Series after the 2009 model year, but it remains committed to the body style overseas. The third-generation BT-50 introduced online wears an unusually stylish design for a global truck, while its interior looks and feels more car-like than before. The BT-50 is based on the Isuzu D-Max, but the familiar shield-shaped grille hides the common DNA well. Horizontal slats and a thick chrome frame create a visual link between the pickup and members of Mazda's line of sedans and crossovers, while stylists gave the rear end more utilitarian-looking lines characterized by vertical lights. The variant depicted in Mazda's images is an upmarket trim built for users who need a rugged daily driver, and more basic versions that feel at home on a construction site will ship will inevitably look a lot cheaper. It measures 208 inches long, 74 inches wide, and 70 inches tall when buyers select the double-cab model and order four-wheel drive. These figures give it a footprint almost identical to the four-door Ranger's. Inside, the BT-50 shares some parts with the D-Max, including its 9.0-inch touchscreen and its HVAC controls. Motorists in global markets are increasingly using pickups as daily drivers, so Mazda chased this trend by adding more technology and safety features to the BT-50. Those willing to climb the trim hierarchy are rewarded with conveniences like an eight-speaker stereo, digital gauges, automatic headlights, parking sensors on both ends, and dual-zone climate control, among other features. Mazda wants to peg its truck a little bit higher than Isuzu's. The only engine detailed by the firm is a 3.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel built by Isuzu and tuned to deliver 190 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 332 pound-feet of torque from 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. Rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission come standard, and motorists can pay extra for four-wheel drive, a six-speed automatic, or both. It's reasonable to assume a smaller, entry-level turbodiesel will join the range later on. With the 3.0-liter, the BT-50 can haul 2,347 pounds, and its towing capacity checks in at 7,716 pounds. That's more than enough to tow an enclosed trailer, your stripped-out Miata, an extra set of slicks, and a boxful of tools. Making your dreams of Mazda-Mazda towing come true will require moving far overseas, because the Japanese company isn't planning on returning to America's pickup segment.
Illinois’ pro-union stance kills bid for Toyota-Mazda plant, report says
Thu, Oct 19 2017Mazda and Toyota are fielding bids from states eager to land its new prize: an all-new $1.6 billion U.S. plant where the Japanese automakers would jointly build electric vehicles and employ around 4,000 workers. Now we can apparently scratch Illinois off the list of contenders. According to Automotive News, the Land of Lincoln has been disqualified due to a lack of shovel-ready sites and the state's lack of a right-to-work law curtailing union membership. Mark Peterson, the president and CEO of economic development agency Intersect Illinois, told the publication he's been informed Illinois is not among the three or four finalists for the facility. It's believed those finalists are all in the South. Peterson said that "many national site consultants charged with making recommendations for corporate relocations and expansions will not even consider a state that is not a right-to-work state. In this case, the three states I am told are still in the running are all right-to-work states." The Midwest may be the ancestral home of U.S. automotive manufacturing, but the South has made major inroads in recent decades, with the likes of Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota all opening plants there, among others, thanks to lucrative tax incentives and the absence of labor unions. Recent years have also seen so-called right-to-work laws, which prohibit union dues and membership as a condition of employment in organized workplaces, spread to traditional labor strongholds such as Michigan and Wisconsin. The new joint venture plant, which would start operating in 2021, would be capable of producing 300,000 vehicles a year, with production divided between the two automakers. Mazda and Toyota would also take small stakes in one another as part of the deal. It's expected that at least 15 states have submitted proposals to attract the plant. Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
