I have a 1996 Mazda B4000 4wd ext cab truck for sale or trade. It has a 4.0 Liter V6 and 5 spd manual transmission, 130k miles, and new PA inspection in December. It has a fresh oil and filter change, and fresh Autolite Double Platinum plugs. The a/c and heat work great, interior is in nice shape and the body and paint are great, only had some damage on passengers side fender from a deer, but not too bad at all. The body is rust free and no paint fade. The truck has a rear slider window and bedliner, as well as a trailer hitch. The rear bumper is loose and does have some rust, should be replaced at some point. It does have an engine light on due to a vacuum leak because the intake plenum needs new gaskets, I just bought the gasket kit but didn't get to replace them. I was told by my mechanic that this is not a big deal or big job, just didn't get it done yet. I drive the truck every day basically. It has been reliable and never left me sit. The truck truck does run fine, but seems to lack some power going up hills, I'm not sure if it is due to the vacuum leak in the intake plenum causing a bad mix of air and fuel or if maybe the converter is clogged, it doesn't run hot and nothing came up on the emissions about it, so I'm not sure, its been that way since I bought the truck last May. It does have 3 new rear leaf spring hangers and shackles, along with new leaf bushings that are polyurethane and made by Energy Suspensions. I have the remaining bushings for the last one, just didn't get to it yet. I have 2 vehicles and both are clutch, and this is causing a lot of issues with my left knee, so I am looking to sell this so I can get an automatic. I really like this truck a lot but my other car is a resto project, and I have too much work and plans for it, so the truck has to go. This truck is a nice truck and can be real good with some minor work here and there. I have mounted fog lights on the front bumper, they just need the switch mounted under the dash and wires run, its a new kit and I do have the rest of the stuff to finish it. I am selling the truck as is, where is, you MUST pick the truck up at my residence, or if you are a PA resident, I can meet you at a notary close to my house to do the title transfer. The truck has no warranty, I have however, disclosed everything I know about the truck as far as what it should need or may need. It has been a reliable truck for me, I'm just looking to get something with an automatic transmission at this point, otherwise, I wouldn't be selling this one. Thanks for looking!

2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata powered by a Jaguar-sourced V6 for sale
Tue, Aug 25 2020Cars & Bids, a relatively new site that specializes in auctioning modern enthusiast cars, is selling a 2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata. While that's hardly unusual, this example lost its four-cylinder engine and gained a Jaguar-sourced V6. Pulling a 3.0-liter six out of a 2000 S-Type and dropping it into an unsuspecting Miata is apparently easier than it sounds. England-based Rocketeer offers a kit that makes the swap reasonably straightforward, though the listing notes the factory air conditioning system is not compatible with the new engine. Cold air aside, the installation is done so neatly that it looks like Mazda envisioned the Miata with a bigger engine. Jag's V6 inevitably adds weight to a roadster praised globally for its nimble handling, but it also brings a whole lot of horsepower to the table. Left stock, a 2002 Miata is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that makes 142 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. The example listed on Cars & Bids puts 220 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque under the driver's right foot, figures that easily offset the weight gain. And, somewhat surprisingly, the six spins the rear wheels through a stock five-speed manual transmission. Flyin' Miata sway bars and Koni shocks improve handling. Close the hood, and this Jagazda looks like a run-of-the-mill 18-year-old Miata. The seller made no modifications to the body, it's still painted in its original shade of silver, and he kept the stock 15-inch wheels. The dual exhaust tips hint at the V6, but they're subtle enough to surprise more than a few racers at the next autocross event. The auction is live now, and bidding stands at $4,250 as of writing with about three days left before the hammer drops. If you miss your chance to bag it, several shops sell kits that let skilled shade-tree mechanics shoehorn Mazda's K-Series V6 (which powered the MX-6 and the Ford Probe, among other cars) into an older Miata. Mazda returning to top-tier racing with diesel-powered prototype in USCC
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Mazda has unveiled its latest challenger in the top flight of endurance racing, a diesel-powered prototype that will campaign the inaugural, 2014 Tudor United SportsCar Championship. The new Skyactiv-D-powered car will make its race debut at January's Rolex 24 at Daytona.
"This is the most significant step Mazda has taken towards returning to the global racing stage since our overall victory at Le Mans in 1991," said the director of Mazda Motorsports, John Doonan. That historic racecar, the rotary-powered 787B, has grown to become one of Mazda's many, well-known racers.
More recently, the Japanese brand has been making waves in the Grand-Am series, campaigning RX-8s and, most recently, running diesel-powered Mazda6 sedans in the GX-class. Mazda will campaign two factory-backed prototypes at Daytona. Driver lineups will be announced closer to race day.
Mazda Slovakia brochure reveals Skyactiv-X Euro power numbers
Mon, Feb 11 2019After driving a prototype of Mazda's Skyactiv-X engine in a Mazda3 in January last year, we wrote, "If you want to talk numbers, they're understandably fuzzy. The Skyactiv-X tune isn't final yet, so horsepower and torque figures are a moving target." They're no longer fuzzy in Slovakia, where a brochure for the new Mazda3 sells final figures as 181 metric horsepower and 222 Newton-meters, or 178 horsepower and 164 pound-feet. We don't know the Slovakian engine's displacement. If that Skyactiv-X is a 2.0-liter, it compares to our 2.0-liter Skyactive-G in the Mazda3 that makes 155 hp and 150 lb-ft, or the tuned Skyactiv-G in the 2019 Miata that makes 181 hp and 151 lb-ft. According to the spec sheet on the Slovakian Mazda site, their 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G in the CX-3 makes 148 hp and 152 lb-ft, and in their Mazda6 makes 162 hp and 155 lb-ft. According to the brochure, those numbers will rise to 164 hp and 157 lb-ft in the coming Mazda3. The Skyactiv-X numbers are in sight of what reps at Mazda in California gave us for output during our drive, which was closer to 190 hp and 180 lb-ft. Mazda said at the L.A. Auto Show last year that the Skyactiv-X would launch in markets with stricter emissions regulations first, so a small European market with tighter controls doesn't define what we get. Given our less restrictive environment, tuning for more power shouldn't be a moon shot. Doing so would put the Skyactiv-X in with the optional 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the U.S. Mazda3, which makes 184 hp and 185 lb-ft. The real test will be gas mileage; the purpose of the Skyactiv-X is to provide those figures in company with 20 to 30 percent better fuel economy than the Skyactiv-G. Autoweek characterized Mazda CEO Akira Marumoto's comments on the engine as, "The Skyactiv-X variant will be positioned as the higher grade. It will have the driving dynamics of the 2.5-liter gasoline setup but the fuel economy of a 1.5-liter diesel." We have questions about this strategy, but we'll have to see how the pricing works out. Since the 2.5-liter serves as the base engine on the 2019 Mazda3, buyers can expect a meaningful premium to get into a Skyactiv-X. Right now, there's a $1,495 surcharge to go from the current 2.0-liter Mazda3 hatch to the 2.5-liter.
