1992 Mazda B2200 I have a very nice 1992 Mazda B2200 pick up for sale. It is a wonderful truck. It has no rust. I just painted it in its original color Nobel White. There was no body damage to fix at all before painting. This truck has the 2.2 electronic carbureted 4 cylinder motor (with four brand new NGK spark plugs)and a five speed manual transmission. It has the original R12 freon that will FREEZE you out! I just put on all four brand new tires. Less than 1000 miles on them. The man I got it from had already done the front end and the exhaust. I had the windows tinted also which makes it a very comfortable cabin between the shade and ice cold air. I also just installed the top of the line brand new headlights and they are very bright! The truck is in excellent condition. It runs and drives perfect. No smoke. No leaks. Nothing needs fixed except the antenna for the radio and the seat. I have looked for another to replace it but can not find one. I have rhinolined the bed out to the edge (like a drop in bed liner)it also has the Mazda rubber bed mat. There is no power steering on this truck either but with the brand new tires you hardly notice it at all. These trucks are well known to go over 300,000 miles. Mine has only 154,000 and runs flawlessly. Uses no oil and gets around 27 mpg. I will not take a penny less than $4200 for the truck. I know full well how hard these trucks are to find in good shape with low miles. I am only selling because we are needing a bigger truck but if I can't get what I want I have NO PROBLEM keeping it! You can call me at 731 798-0338 to discuss. My name is Chuck. |

Mazda recalls 109k Tribute models for rust issue
Fri, 18 Apr 2014The Mazda Tribute is being hit with a similar recall as its platform-mate the Ford Escape underwent a few weeks ago. Mazda is recalling 109,000 Tributes from model years 2001 to 2004. On the trucks, the subframe can rust from road salt, potentially causing the lower control arm to detach. If this happens, a loss of steering control could occur.
Mazda is adding a reinforcement crossbrace for added strength on the affected models. The recall covers Tributes currently registered in or originally sold in 20 northern states and Washington, DC, where road salt is used.
The reinforcement braces aren't available yet to do the repair. Mazda will send a letter in May to owners of affected vehicles that will inform them of the problem, and a second letter telling them when the parts will be ready. Scroll down to read the full recall press release.
California adapts ZEV mandate with PHEVs for smaller automakers
Fri, Jun 5 2015California is the nation's largest market for zero-emissions vehicles with over 100,000 of them estimated to be on the roads there. The state's goal is to keep that number growing every year. To that end, the California Air Resources Board is now tweaking its rules in a way that might not boost ZEVs but could mean more plug-in hybrids for the Golden State. Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, and Volvo asked for an exemption to the state's zero-emissions vehicle mandate last year due to their relatively small development budgets compared to larger automakers. CARB denied their request but did craft a compromise, according to Automotive News. Rather than being required to offer a ZEV in the state, companies with an annual global revenue of less than $40 billion, like those in this group, may instead sell plug-in hybrids to earn ZEV credits. The companies aren't completely off the hook, though. If these plug-in hybrids don't earn enough credits, the corporations must buy them on the market to make up the difference. Automakers with popular electric models like Nissan and Tesla have made a big business through this trading system by selling their surplus to rivals. Tesla alone pocketed $51 million in the first quarter from this part of its business, according to Automotive News. The changes to the regulations also aren't set in stone, yet. CARB is meeting in 2016 and could adjust things further at that time. Mazda begins building Mazda3 in Mexico for US
Tue, 07 Jan 2014With fluctuations in international currencies and rising shipping costs to take into account, foreign automakers can't get away with building cars overseas and selling them in North America as easily as they used to. Particularly with inexpensive mainstream models. And given the benefits of cheaper labor and free trade under NAFTA, many have opted to assemble their cars for the North American market in Mexico. That's why the likes of Toyota, Mercedes and BMW have all opened plants in Mexico. And now Mazda has followed suit.
Ground was initially broken for Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operations at Salamanca in the state of Gunajuato back in 2011, but production has just now gotten under way. The first vehicle to roll off the line? A Mazda3 sedan destined for the United States. Soon, the plant will begin production of the next Mazda2 as well, selling it alongside its larger counterpart across the Americas and in Europe as production expands to 230,000 units annually.
