1973 Mazda B1600 Ute 1.6l Classic Rare Truck Rwd on 2040-cars
Douglas, Arizona, United States
Arizona Barn find 1973 Mazda B1600 I've known the owner for the past 20+ years it used to be a daily driver for some time until it was parked for years, Car was manufactured before the 6 digit odometer. 5 digit odometer reads 97600, title says 197,600 Actual miles. I've used the car a bit so miles will differ from title, it will have about 100 extra miles or so. Car is very solid did not have any body work done to it. Current paint is the closest possible to the original one. I had the bench seat and the door panels recovered. Partially restored, fresh paint not the greatest in the world but at least is protected for now.I disassembled the dashboard to have it painted. I will have it fully assembled before the auction ends. it's missing some heater/vent rubber pads. am/fm stereo looks to be the original one but it was not hooked up. I will leave it as it was.
Needs the following: wiper blades, tires, brakes, a good tune up, windshield is a bit cracked from the bottom, might need a new windshield gasket it shrank a bit, needs interior floor carpeting, small rust was found on the floor panels and it was repaired, needs new headliner, sunvisors are still there but no headliner, needs door weatherstrip, gas tank might need to be cleaned, dashboard will also need to be recovered, original steering wheel with horn button that was working before going to the autopaint shop, now horn doesn't work. it just needs details here and there truck runs and drives very good for the age, this is the perfect project. this truck is by no means in showroom condition I saved it from the wreck yard or being left to rot away. No warranty expressed or implied. Sold as is where is. I will assist buyer with shipping but will not be responsible for any shipping fees. $500 paypal non-refundable deposit due 48hrs after auction ends the rest has to be via certified funds or cash in person. I can hold the truck for no more than 15 days after payment has cleared. please ask any questions prior to bidding. Thank you for looking! |

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Mazda 929 S
Wed, Aug 24 2016In the late 1980s, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda were cleaning up in the American market with the Cressida, Maxima, and Legend, respectively. Mazda wanted some of those dollars, so the HC-series Mazda Luce was modified for the US market and sold here as the 929. It had rear-wheel drive, a powerful V6 engine, and lots of luxury features, but not many were sold. Here's a rare '90 that I spotted in a San Francisco Bay Area self-service yard. In 1990, the sporty 929S version got 190 horsepower from its DOHC 3.0-liter V6. Unfortunately for Mazda, American buyers associated the marque with sensible econoboxes and screaming rotary engines, not luxury machinery, at the time. For the 1990 model year, American-market cars were required to have either a driver's-side airbag or automatic seat belts. The 929 had the automatic belts, the less said about the better. The Luce-based 929 became the Sentia-based 929 for the 1992 model year. Meanwhile, the new luxury brands from Honda, Nissan, and Toyota were kicking the crap out of 929 sales; Mazda had planned to launch the Amati brand in the United States, but didn't have the resources to follow through. The last 929s were sold in the United States for the 1995 model year. Related Video: Featured Gallery Junked 1990 Mazda 929 S View 16 Photos Auto News Mazda
Honda, Nissan and Mazda recalling 3 million vehicles for airbag inflators
Mon, 23 Jun 2014Three million more vehicles can be added to the worldwide tally to be repaired for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata. Honda, Nissan, and Mazda have all issued recalls to replace the bad part, including about 1.2 million of them in North America. NHTSA has been investigating all three companies, plus Chrysler and Toyota, for potentially affected vehicles.
Honda is recalling roughly 1.02 million Civic, CR-V, Odyssey and Element models In North America, built between April 2000 and October 2002. Mazda needs to repair 14,794 units of the RX-8 and Mazda6, and Nissan has 228,000 vehicles in North America to be fixed.
Chrysler is also starting what it calls a "regional field action" to replace the inflators in the 2006 Dodge Charger, according to a company spokesperson. The company says that it has not yet found the problem in any of its vehicles, but it's being done "out of an abundance of caution." The final number of Chargers affected will be announced later this week.
Will the new Mazda Miata be available with multiple engines?
Mon, 01 Sep 2014At this point, the countdown until the launch of the all-new, fourth-generation 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata can be measured in hours until its September 3 unveiling as easily as it can in days. With the debut of such a highly anticipated model so close, the rumors about the new sports car are starting to boil over.
We recently heard that the new Miata would likely get a 2.0-liter Skyactiv four-cylinder with a six-speed manual, plus a decent drop in weight compared to the current gen. There's even the rumored possibility of a fastback coupe version sometime in the future.
Now, Australia's GoAuto is adding another dollop of speculation into the mix with the claim that there could be "potentially more engine options," according to Mazda Australia managing director Martin Benders to the website. The more potent option would still be the 2.0-liter Skyactiv with a power bump from its current 167 hp to closer to 200 ponies. The other possible powerplant option would be a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder taken from the upcoming Mazda2 replacement. This version would also ditch some of the MX-5's more premium features to cut the weight and the price slightly.
