This car is probably the best 2002 Mazda 626 that you will find. It was purchased from New London Mazda. It was driven by a female senior citizen for almost its entire life. The car has never been smoked in. The exterior is bright and shiny. The interior is super clean. The car has electric windows, cruise control, electric door locks, power outside mirrors, AM/FM Stereo with cd player. Visors have lighted vanity mirrors. The rear seats fold down which will allow you to carry an 8 or 10 foot step ladder inside the car with the trunk closed. It is a great car for a tradesman who needs to carry things that are up to 10 feet long. This car gets approximately 30 mpg overall on regular gasoline, depending on driving habits. It was recently tuned up and it runs great. It shifts very smoothly. The tires are Bridgestone Potenzas and they have a lot of life left in them.
The car is equipped with a remote starter which is great if you have the leave the car outside in the winter and would like to get into a warm car or want to get the air conditioning going before you get into the car in the summer. The glass is all perfect. The only seat that has been utilized to any degree is the driver's seat. The headliner is flawless. The rugs are clean and not damaged. I will give the buyer two extra wheels for the car which can be used to put snow tires on if you so choose. This car is great in the snow. The car has kiddie locks. The spare tire, the jack and the original manual are all in the car. Car recently passed the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles required emissions test. The car had no trouble codes. The battery is great. The air conditioning is as cold as you can find. You will have to lower it after about 5 minutes, or you will get too cold. This car has a clear title. I has had no accidents over its life. It tracks perfectly.

Mazda just restored the 787B's forgotten older brother
Fri, Aug 12 2016Among Mazda's many racecars, none is as famous as the 787B, and for good reason. The 787B remains the only Japanese car and the only rotary-powered car to win overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It wasn't Mazda's only successful endurance racer, though. Before the 787B, there was the 767B. Mazda's 767B racecars competed in the IMSA GTP class at endurance races throughout 1989. They featured 630-horsepower four-rotor engines and were very successful in their class. This newly restored car took first and second place class finishes in five of the six races it participated in, and each finish was in the overall top ten. The one exception was a DNF in which the transmission failed. Twenty-five years after the 767B's glory days, Mazda initiated a complete teardown and restoration of the aged car. The work was done by Downing Atlanta and supervised by former Mazda racers Rick Engman and Jim Downing. (Fun fact: Downing was one of the designers of the HANS device.) The shop has also restored other racecars for Mazda, including one of the 787Bs. The car went through a two-year rehab and will make its track re-debut at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The event takes place next weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca where the track will once again feature the angry shriek of a competition-grade rotary engine. eBay Find of the Day: 1990 Mazda Miata with just 27 original miles
Wed, 14 Aug 2013Some cars have low mileage, and others have close to no miles at all. This 1990 Mazda Miata, currently listed on eBay Motors and located in Kingman, Arizona, falls into the latter category with only 27 miles on the odometer, according to the seller. But we have to wonder: how did one of the best-driving, most influential sports cars of the past two decades sit without being driven for 24 years? Consider it the seller's loss on this one.
The seller says he bought the car with 20 miles on it, and explains 6.9 miles were added when the car was towed home on a car dolly. It was never registered. Furthermore, the seller says the car didn't come with a set of keys, so he had to have a set made. Though the paint is clean and shiny, the Miata didn't escape minor cosmetic damage over the years, with scratches on the hood, the trunk and the factory hardtop that is included with the car. The front, right fender has a small dent as well, which can be seen in a picture. The seller says the car was stored in a building with windows, so the paint is faded a bit in some places. It's missing its antenna and the battery, and the only non-original parts on the car are the windshield wipers. The clear-title car comes with all paperwork, according to the seller, but, besides the owners manual, he didn't specify what other documentation would be included.
With bidding currently at $10,300 and the reserve not met, this Miata definitely isn't the deal of the century, and we have to question where the value is in this one. The way we see it, it's hard to justify the money if it can't be driven as-is (come on, no battery?), has questionable history, isn't rare and sat in storage for its whole existence. The "weather cracked" tires are probably just the first rubber parts on the car that need to be replaced before it can be driven, but at least the spark plugs were removed and the cylinders were filled with Marvel Mystery Oil prior to storage, which helps to prevent rust and corrosion from forming in the engine.
Mazda books first yearly profit in half-decade, NA still a drag
Tue, 30 Apr 2013Automotive News reports Mazda has posted its first annual profit in five years. The company made $364.3 million in the last fiscal year, following a $1.14 billion loss the year prior. Operating profit also jumped up by $91.3 million to $572.8 million, thanks in part to a revenue increase of 8 percent to $23.42 billion.
But the news isn't all rays of sunshine. North America continues to be a problem for Mazda where the automaker posted yet another loss. The manufacturer lost $519.1 million last year, up from $427.8 million the year prior. While the launch of the CX-5 helped see US sales increase by 2 percent to 273,000 vehicles, the region as a whole bought up 372,000 units. Mazda had predicted closer to 380,000 units.
Even so, Mazda says it should have North America back in the black by next year, with the company forecasting a sales increase of 11 percent to 415,000 units in the region. That's thanks in part to a boost from the redesigned Mazda6 sedan.
