Presenting this rare opportunity to own a 2008 Boxster RS60 (#0708 of 1960 made). You will be the only one around with this car. Future collectable. Don't miss out.

About the ultra rare RS60 Spyder

The 2008 Boxster RS 60 Spyder evokes the stance and style of this historic mid-engine two-seater race car. Its front end is taken from Porsche's SportDesign Package and distinguishes the RS 60 Spyder significantly from the current Boxster S. Its posture is made even more dynamic with the addition of spacer plates that move the 19-inch Porsche SportDesign wheels into an even more prominent position in the wheel arches. Likewise, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard on this limited edition model and ensures both sporting and comfortable driving characteristics in all conditions. Modifications to the exhaust flow coupled with a dual tailpipe sports exhaust system increase engine output to 303 hp.

The exclusive GT silver metallic paintwork is further accentuated by the contrasting colors of the Natural Leather interior in Carrera Red with a Black convertible top.

The RS 60 Spyder's interior features and equipment also pay homage to its famous ancestor: door entry guards made of stainless steel that proudly show off the model designation, a race-inspired gearshift lever, and special surface texture in the center sections of the sports seats and the center door linings as well as on the steering wheel rim and handbrake lever.

The instrument cluster cover has been removed, prominently displaying the GT Silver Metallic instruments which have been set wider apart. This unique touch presents the driver with the look and feel of a race car.

This special appeal is further enhanced by other features such as the black windscreen frame, red taillight lenses, and GT Silver Metallic center console, rear sections of the seat backrests and rollbars that blend perfectly with the seat belts finished in silver.

Reflecting its model designation, the new Boxster RS 60 Spyder is limited to 1,960 units worldwide, which is prominently displayed on a silver-colored placard on the lid of the glove compartment. Less than 800 of the 1,960 units produced made it to North American.

This is an extremely rare car and will become sought after collectable.

Maserati Levante SUV previewed in patent drawings

Wed, May 20 2015

Maserati is set to become the next high-end automaker to get into the crossover game with the impending launch of the Levante, and this could be our best look at it yet. Revealed in drawings reportedly filed with the patent and trademark office in Australia, these line drawings give us an idea of what to expect from the design of the Trident marque's upcoming crossover. The styling looks fairly consistent with what we've come to expect from the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans, only in a higher-roofed, liftback form. Evident in the design are the Modenese automaker's grille and lighting forms, its signature portal vents along the front fender, powerful rear haunches and a steeply raked tailgate. Previewed by the Kubang concepts of 2003 and 2011, the Levante will be a vital product for Maserati's expansion – just as the Bentayga will be for Bentley, the F-Pace for Jaguar, the DBX for Aston Martin and the Urus (if ever approved) for Lamborghini. Expect it to pack the same V6, V8 and diesel engines as the aforementioned existing sedans when it debuts sometime soon into the new year ahead. Related Video:

Maserati cutting Ghibli, Quattroporte production on slowing demand

Wed, Mar 18 2015

If Maserati is going to meet its ambitious sale targets, it's going to need to grow as fast as its cars can accelerate. But lately, the Trident marque has seen demand for its luxury sedans flattening, if not receding. And now Maserati has had to cut production to avoid overshooting demand. We've been seeing reports of production being trimmed at the company's Grugliasco plant near Turin, Italy, for over a month now. But while earlier reports seemed to indicate the trouble was rooted in supplier issues, the latest suggests that slowing demand is the culprit. According to Automotive News Europe, parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has had to cut the number of shifts at Grugliasco (where the Ghibli and Quattroporte are produced) from 12 per week to 10. "Fiat has told us that workers at the Grugliasco plant will be working for three weeks out of four up until July," union leader Federico Bellono told ANE. "The company is predicting production of about 30,000 to 35,000 cars at Grugliasco this year. I think it will be closer to 30,000." Last year the plant produced 34,000 units, with the sedans accounting for the bulk of Maserati's sales. Of the 36,448 units the Modena-based automaker sold last year, 23,500 were Ghiblis and 9,500 were Quattroportes, with the GranTurismo accounting for just 3,500 units. That's up considerably from the total of 15,400 units it sold in 2013, but is still some ways off from the 50,000 it hopes to reach this year and the 75,000 it aims to achieve by 2018. The arrival of the upcoming Levante crossover, as well as the Alfieri sports car and new GranTurismo, will surely help. But if Maserati is going to reach its ambitious sales targets, it's going to have to find more buyers for its core sedans. Repeated requests made by Autoblog for comment from Maserati have yet to be answered, but we'll be sure to update you if and when relevant new information comes to light. Related Video:

Maserati Levante starts at $72,000, Levante S for $83,000

Fri, Mar 18 2016

The 2017 Maserati Levante won't arrive in the US until later this year, but we know it will cost $72,000 to park the posh crossover in your garage, Maserati spokesperson Jiannina Castro told Autoblog. The extra power from the Levante S will ring up for $83,000. The actual amounts to buy one will be somewhat higher because Maserati won't discuss option pricing or the destination charges until dealer orders begin in April. In its US guise, the standard Levante uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 345 horsepower, which can get the CUV to 60 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds. The Levante S uses the same engine with 424 hp, which cuts the 60-mph run to 5.0 seconds. Both mills use an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. A plug-in hybrid with the powertrain from the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid will reportedly join the US lineup later, too. The newcomer Levante faces stiff competition among more established luxury CUVs in the US. For example, the base Porsche Cayenne with 300 hp starts at $60,650 after destination and the 420-hp Cayenne is $77,250. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport with the 340-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 is $65,945. We'll get another look at the Levante at next week's New York Auto Show. The Geneva Motor Show earlier in the month already provided a great opportunity to check it out. Following the success of its global reveal in Geneva earlier this month, the all new Maserati Levante will make its way to the New York Auto Show on March 23rd for its official U.S. debut. The U.S. market launch is planned for late summer 2016 with a starting price of $72,000 for the 345 hp (Levante) and $83,000 for the 424 hp (Levante S) model (not including destination and delivery), which will be available for order in the U.S. this April. The Levante represents a new chapter in Maserati's iconic history. With over one hundred years of automotive excellence behind it, Maserati is well positioned to introduce its first ever SUV that represents the house of the Trident's core values and truly is the 'opposite of ordinary'.
