This Vintage Spyder was manufactured in 2000 to full completion and is equipped with a high performance CB Performance 1915 cc Air Cooled Engine. The car is a beautiful German Racing Silver over a bright red interior. The options list when ordered included the RS package, helmet rest, 3.44 gear, and tonneau cover. A car cover is included as well. The car has been driven 4200 professionally maintained miles and at 1300 pounds moves briskly by the dynoed 133 horsepower engine. CB Performance 044 heads and forged Hi Po internals allow the engine to rev willingly and safely. The dual Weber IDF 40's have a recent rebuild and tune have four inch Velocity Stacks and also K and N filters included as well. The exhaust system is a four into one sytem that sounds beautiful as the throttle is floored. A 911 style cooling shroud and chrome Valve Covers and Starter make for a beautiful engine bay. The frame is a coated alloy and held on the ground by Aldan Adjustable Racing shocks and 15" five lug Chrome wheels and Dunlop Radials. VDO gauges complete the interior.
I love this car and feel the fit and finish is up to the highest standard to please the most detailed eye. The car has had two collector owners and spent its life in Palm Springs until August of 2012. I drive the car regularly and even at 6' 2" find it comfortable on road trips. The paint is very nice as is the interior, until I bought the car it had never been driven in rain. The car will come detailed and have a fresh service to include valve adjustment. The questions and looks this car attracts really surprised me. One question that some ask is if it is a kit car, and the answer is no, emphatically, Vintage Spyders hand built this car to completion to include the engine install to the highest of standards. She runs, she handles, and she's just a lot of fun. If you have any questions please feel free to ask as many as you wish.

Maserati to celebrate 100th anniversary at Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Sun, 15 Dec 2013

The Pebble Beach weekend is without a doubt one of the preeminent classic car gatherings on the calendar. But while most of the events that make up the weekend are essentially static displays, our favorite may be the Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. That's where you can actually see classic racing cars doing what they were made for in the first place. And every year, organizers of the event select a featured marque.
Last year it was the Chevrolet Corvette. The year before it was Shelby, preceded by Jaguar the year before that. But next year, the classic racing event will feature Maserati, which will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. And to make the occasion extra special for the Modenese marque, next year also marks the 60th anniversary of the most celebrated racing cars ever made by Maserati (or any other constructor, for that matter): the Maserati 250F (No. 4 above) famously piloted by the likes of Fangio and Moss in 1954.
Fittingly, the Trident marque got its start in racing back in 1914 with the debut of the Tipo 26 that put Maserati on the map with a debut victory in the 1926 Targa Florio. Although you don't much see it competing at top levels these days, Maserati went on to win the Indianapolis 500, the Formula One World Championship and, more recently, the FIA GT1 World Championship.

1955 Maserati A6G 2000 Zagato Coupe Beauty-Roll

Tue, Sep 1 2015

For those of you paying attention, we've really ramped up the old Autoblog video game these days. Our new series Car Club USA joins Translogic and The List, and there are more Daily Drivers and Short Cuts than ever. But sometimes, all you care about is the car. The Autoblog Beauty-Roll video series has one goal: bring you glossy video images of cars, and nothing but. We're collecting moving pictures of all the cars we test, inside and out. Each episode comes with a hit of engine sound – start-up and with a few revs – to round out the package. As you can tell, today's lovely subject is of a slightly older vintage than is typical of our Beauty-Roll fare. We shot a number of striking vehicles at this year's Pebble Beach party and will be rolling them out over the coming days and weeks. Set your resolution to max, kick it into full-screen, turn up the sound, and enjoy today's subject, the 1955 Maserati A6G 2000 Zagato Coupe. Oh, and if you'd like more Beauty-Roll, click here to see the back catalog.

Maserati CEO says new Alfieri will finally make Geneva in 2020

Thu, Mar 7 2019

Maserati's long-delayed Alfieri will be shown at Geneva a year from now, says company CEO Harald Wester. The Alfieri will be the model to replace the GranTurismo coupe, the production of which is expected to end later this year as Maserati's Modena plant is overhauled and retooled for the new car. Autocar reports that Wester placed the Alfieri's reveal for Geneva 2020, but that series production will not begin until 2021-2022. Earlier reports had timed the Alfieri pre-production to begin in early 2020, in time for Geneva. The Maserati lineup will be significantly updated in the near future, and will feature extensive electrification, from mild hybrids to fully electric vehicles. "Any product we touch or make will have significant electrification," Wester told Autocar. "The main launches for new products are in 2021-22, and by the end of 2022 we will have a completely new range. For each and every lineup, we will have a full battery electric version. Not only that but at least one." Future models will also include updated versions of Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante. The Alfieri was originally shown as a concept in 2014, but the delays have forced the 2008-introduced GranTurismo to soldier on. When the Alfieri finally comes, however, it will do so as a PHEV, a mild hybrid and a full electric version. Maserati is also adamant it will build electrified sports cars profitably. "Maserati is one of the few brands who can sell cars at the cost and reality of the technology and still make money," said Wester. Related Video:
