Car was taken all the way down and restored. NADA Classic Car shows the value to be at $16,565 for Average Retail, and $25,085 for High Retail. This one is a lot closer to High Retail condition. I purchased this car from Desert Valley Auto Parts (aka Desert Car Kings as seen on Discover Channel), so it was bone dry with no rust when I got it. It took me a little over two years in restoring it. The original Fisher Body plastic coating was still intact on the underbelly and frame. The "build sheet" shows it was built in Sacramento California and sold new at a dealership in Albuquerque New Mexico. So it has spent its entire life until now in the desert plains. This is a "TRUE" Muscle Car Era vehicle, with a rare "working" Ram Air Hood Scoop.
I completely disassembled the car and replaced, reconditioned or upgraded every aspect of the car down to the nuts and bolts. It was amazing to see solid floor pans and trunk metal. Not a bit of rust around any of the window/windshield openings. After stripping it down, everything received a fresh coat of zinc chromate or heavy primer.
This is a list of "NEW" items that went into the vehicle: Grill, Aluminum Radiator, Headlights, Wiring Harnesses (All harnesses - bumper to bumper), Fuel Pump, Fuel Sending Unit, Fuel Tank, Water Pump, Alternator, Holley 650 Spread Bore Carburetor, Doug Thorley Ceramic Coated Long Headers, Magna-Flow Stainless Steel X-Pipe Exhaust System, U-Joints, Front End "Completely" rebuilt (i.e. Tie Rod Ends, Upper/Lower Control Arm Bearings, Bushings, etc.), Polyurethane Bushings "Throughout", SSBC Front Disc brake Conversion, Head Liner, Upholstery, Door Panels, Carpet, Weather Seals "Everywhere", Buick 15" Rally Wheels, Good-Year Eagle GTII Tires, Vinyl Top, Upgraded Radio W/USB Adapter, Power Antenna, All New Lamps, etc.
This is a very rare car in that the production numbers are very low. I painted the car the correct VIN Number color which is a Twilight Blue Poly. The car drives as good as it did when it came off the showroom floor (maybe even a little better). I have driven this car very little since completing the restoration. I used nothing but quality parts and materials in the restoration (Year One, Auto parts Place, Original Parts Place, SSBC, Holley, Magna Flow, etc.). Serious offers only please, but I am open to all reasonable offers. Anyone who has ever restored a vehicle knows what goes into the project and my asking price is "VERY" reasonable.
This car is being advertised on Auto Trader Classics at the same time, so this auction could end early if a serious buyer is found. On the Auto Trader Classic site (just do a narrowed search), it has a walk-around video with the car running. If you want to see a complete photo file of the restoration, just ask and I will send a link for you to view.

2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo Road Test | Paint the town red
Fri, May 6 2022AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- It’s a transitional moment for Maserati and many of its contemporaries. WeÂ’re on the precipice of an electric future that is taking shape but not yet reality. Until that day comes, weÂ’re taking our final laps in things like the 580-horsepower Levante Trofeo. Dripping in attitude, sharp design and packing an engine that sounds ready for Imola, this Levante recalls everything Maserati has done well over its 108-year history, which predates Ferrari by three decades. Except for the sport utility body style, this vehicle could have been built by Maserati in almost any era. In 2022, however, itÂ’s not a template. Maserati will replace the Ferrari-built V8, like the one under the hood of my test vehicle, with its in-house Nettuno V6, a 600-hp twin-turbo engine that is MaseratiÂ’s biggest engine project in decades. Ultimately the brand will go all-electric. In the here and now, the Levante Trofeo is an attention-getting vehicle. Even more awe-inducing than the engine, the $17,000 Rosso Magma paint looks like it should come with a parole officer. It's available through the Fuoriserie Corse customization program and is by far the most expensive option on this 2022 Levante Trofeo, which stickers for $173,550. It almost appears iridescent in some lighting. Other add-ons include carbon-fiber paddle shifters ($450), painted 22-inch staggered wheels ($400) and gloss black brake calipers ($500). Being the Trofeo trim, itÂ’s already loaded with the best features from the Modena and GT variants. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. This is our first taste of the Levante since Maserati reshuffled the trim lineup for 2021. It wears the updated Maserati emblem and Trident, and Trofeo is spelled out in a script that has a vaguely 1980s vibe. Otherwise, this is the Levante weÂ’ve known for several years. It arrived on a bright and unusually cold spring morning, the booming bass of the exhaust note reverberating through my neighborhood. From the back, it cuts a bit of a Porsche silhouette, but up front the shark teeth grille leaves no doubt this is of Italian origin, specifically Maserati. It recalls things like the Alfieri concept, Tipo 60 Birdcage, and for a deep cut, the 1950s A6GCS racer. While the design up front borders on ostentatious, things are more measured in the back, where the roof slopes gently into the curvaceous fenders. Maserati also gets the details right.
The best Super Bowl car commercials from the last 5 years
Wed, Jan 28 2015If you've been dipping into the Autoblog feed over the past days and weeks, you wouldn't even have to be a sports fan to know the Super Bowl is coming up. Automakers have been teasing their spots for the big game, dropping them days early, fully-formed onto the Internet and otherwise trying to amp up the multi-million-dollar outlays that they've made for air time on the biggest advertising day of the year. And, we're into it. The lead up to the Super Bowl is almost akin to a mini auto show around these parts; with automakers being amongst the most prolific advertisers on these special Sundays. The crop of ads from 2015 looks as strong as ever, but we thought we'd take a quick look back at some of our favorite spots from the last five years. Take a look at our picks – created from a very informal polling of Autoblog editors and presented in no particular order – and then tell us about your recent faves, in Comments. Chrysler, Imported From Detroit Chrysler, Eminem and a lingering pan shot of "The Fist" – it doesn't get much more Motown than 2011's Imported From Detroit. With the weight of our staffers hailing from in and around The D, it's no wonder that our memories still favor this epic Super Bowl commercial (even though the car it was shilling was crap). Imported really set the tone for later Chrysler ads, too, repeated the formula: celebrity endorsement + dramatic copy + dash of jingoism = pulled car-guy heartstrings. Mercedes-Benz, Soul teaser with Kate Upton One of our favorite Super Bowl commercials (and yours, based on the insane number of views you logged) didn't even technically air during the game. Mercedes-Benz teased its eventual spot Soul with 90-seconds worth of Kate Upton threatening to do her best Joy Harmon impression. (Teaser indeed.) It doesn't win points for cleverness, use of music, acting, or any compelling carness, but it proved that Mercedes' advertisers knew how to make a splash in the Internet Age. And, hey, it's still classier than every GoDaddy commercial. Kia, A Dream Car. For Real Life Like the Mercedes video above, the initial draw here is a pretty lady; in this case the always stunning Adriana Lima. But this Kia commercial really delivers the extra effort we expect while scarfing crabby snacks and homemades, too. First of all, Motley Crue. Second, a cowboy on a bucking rhino. Enjoy yet again.
