2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Convertible 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
El Dorado Hills, California, United States
Excellent condition Gallardo spyder that has beautiful custom ordered Ballon white exterior w/ Nero interior and white stitching. Balloon white is by far the best color on a Lamborghini! I custom ordered this car from the factory and purchased from Lamborghini of San Francisco. I sold the car with approximately 1200 miles and re-purchased the car again 3 years ago from Lamborghini Newport and had it CPO'd to know that it was cared for the 2000 miles that the car was out of my hands. I have owned multiple Gallardo's and they are a joy to own. I have never had a mechanical issue during my ownership. Although the Carfax may show the owner history as being 4 the reality is since I have owned the car twice and the other owner transferred it to another ownership status while he had it, the car truly has had 2 owners. The car was certified in February 2011 and has been expired for about a year but know that the car went under a very strict criteria through Lamborghini North America and has only been driven about 2000 miles since being CPO'd. This Lamborghini is a beauty and if you are looking for a well taken care of Gallardo Spyder this is your opportunity to have one. |

Proof that the Maserati-powered Lazareth LM847 quad actually works
Sun, Sep 11 2016The craziest thing about the Lazareth LM847 isn't the 4.7-liter V8 engine sourced from Maserati. It's not the four-wheeled motorcycle design. It's not even the fact that its axles are hinged to allow the machine to lean into corners. No, the craziest thing is that the LM847 actually works. See for yourself in the video up above. Granted, the rider isn't pushing the LM847 very hard. In fact, he may as well be riding a scooter. It's got 470 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque, which means it really should be quite fast in a straight line. But considering the 880-pound weight, awkward-looking riding position, single-speed transmission, and the massive amount of torque wrenching the bike to its side when the engine is revved, we don't blame the rider for taking it easy. Maserati Levante crossover not Jeep based after all?
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Maserati has been teasing its crossover project since 2011, which is when it first showed off the Kubang concept (pictured above). Still, the production version, rumored to be called the Levante, remains a complete mystery. The CUV was first rumored to borrow the platform from the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but new rumors indicate that the Italian, luxury crossover might actually take the underpinnings from the Quattroporte and Ghibli.
In a brief interview, Maserati CEO Harald Wester told CNN Money that the Levante wouldn't use Jeep's platform. Motor Trend spoke with an unnamed Maserati engineer who confirmed the rumor. Officially, the company says that no decision has been made.
We can add this to another long list of rumors about the Italian CUV. It was originally supposed to be built at Chrysler's Jefferson North assembly plant in Detroit. Then, plans were changed to build it in Italy.
Maserati calling in new Quattroporte for electrical issue
Fri, 27 Dec 2013Exotic automobiles are just that: exotic. As in, rare. While Maserati is trying is darnedest to emerge from the fringes, its products are still less common than competitors from Germany, Japan or even the UK. Which is probably - more so than any superior quality or safety standards - why we rarely see the Trident marque's products the subject of a recall. Although it does happen upon occasion.
Back in the spring, Maserati had to call in over seven thousand examples of the Quattroporte, GranTurismo and Alfa 8C over rust issues. Now that the new Quattroporte is upon us, the Modenese automaker has apparently run into another small problem.
This time the issue revolves around the wiring harness for the alternator/starter motor, an improper crimp in which could cause the battery cable to short and start a fire. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is prompting 63 owners of the 2014 Quattroporte GTS V8 to bring their cars in to their local Maserati dealer to have the wiring harness replaced.
