Up for sale is this great 2000 Toyota MR 2 Spyder convertible in smokin' hot red, with 5 speed manual rear-wheel drive transmission, and icey cold air for top down fun in the sun. This car also features original stereo with in dash CD player and power windows. Has brand new rear brake rotors, calipers and hi performance ceramic brake pads. Tires are in decent shape, with about 40 wear remaining. The engine was replaced same model engine about 30k miles ago by the prior owner, and it runs very strong. The rims were also painted black by the prior owner, and it has a pretty new muffler as shown in the photos. Nice clear headlight lenses don't show the plastic lens cover fogging as most Spyders this age show. That speaks to probably have spent a lot of its life garaged- including the time it's spent in my garage shown in one of the photos.
Some call the MR2 Spyder the "average guy's Ferrari". To understand this, just put down the convertible top, turn on the engine, pop it in first gear, apply a generous amount of gas, let the clutch out and enjoy the sounds and scenery that immediately follow, which are all brought to you by the powerful and nimble little 1.8 liter that powers this baby. This car is an absolute blast to drive, and will provide return on investment in the form of driving fun which is many times over the cost of purchase. My son bought the car about only 15 months ago, and has since relocated with his job. Wait- don't feel too sorry for him...he's in Waikiki Hawaii, is having the time of his life, and is spinning around on the island in his other car - the BMW. Yeah- you 've got the picture, he's got a lot of toys. Now, Dad's helping him sell this car, because he likes it so much he's says he's not coming back to the mainland anytime soon. On a serious note, since he titled the car in June of 2012, he only added 2k miles.
So, that's the story...It's a great little Spyder, in good condition. Remember, its a 2000 model car, not new and some imperfections to be expected for the age. However, it's freakin' fun to drive and you'll love this little red rocket at a price that's far from breaking the bank!
Buyers: No zero feedback or buyers with recent negative feedback. I don't want your hassles. Please check out my feedback with a 100% positive score of nearly 400 and know your dealing with someone who is on the up and up,
Shipping or Local Pickup: I'll glad help with a local pickup. Shipping - you arrange and pay for it, and I'll be here for the car carrier to pick it up, no problem. You can get a quote from any shipper on EBay- just use shipping from zip code 21784
Payment: PayPal only. Don't ask about bank transfers or try to scam me with some money order, foreign check. I been buying and selling items on Ebay for 14 years and have hear it all.
Buy it now, and enjoy this little red convertible rocket while the warm weather is still here with us!

Maserati special editions celebrate the end of the V8 at Goodwood
Wed, Jul 12 2023The Goodwood Festival of Speed is ready to cheer anything with pretensions to velocity, equally respectful to new hooligans trying to seize the day and veterans that have had theirs. Maserati's brought both to the 'sceptered isle, sometimes demonstrated in the same body. The house of the trident will start shutting down V8 production next year, bringing an end to 64 years of eight-cylinder Maseratis going back to the 5000 GT of 1959. The Ghibli 334 Ultima and Levante V8 Ultima special editions commemorate the sunset, both powered by the departing twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 making 572 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. The sedan gets the "334" designation of its top speed in kilometers per hour, known as 206.3 mph in non-metric lands. That's three miles per hour more than the Ghibli Trofeo's top speed as shown on Maserati's retail U.S. site. Performance and aero updates include a new carbon fiber spoiler, special tires made from a new compound, and 21-inch Orione wheels. The sprint to 62 miles per hour drops from 4.3 seconds to 3.9. The automaker calls this car the "current fastest internal combustion engine sedan in the world," and it's going to climb the Goodwood hill. Each special edition gets 103 examples. Maserati hasn't discussed regional allotments nor how to make a reservation. The rest of the Italian showcase in Lord March's back yard revolves around the new. The GrandTurismo Trofeo with a Nettuno V6 will be there, the 542-hp V6 stepping further out of the shadow of the V8. The battery-electric GranTurismo Folgore takes a bow as well, as does the Grecale Folgore. Artsy types will want a look at the GranTurismo Prisma, a one-off based on the Nettuno-powered GranTurismo Trofeo. Revealed a few months ago, this tips a cap to 75 years of the automaker. Artists hand-painted the body with 14 colors that nod to classic Maserati hues, then hand-painted the names of classic models like the Indy, Mistral, and Amaranto, applying more than 8,500 individual characters. Finally, a GranTurismo Folgore and an MC20 Cielo will join the Ghilbli 334 Ultima making a run up the hill. The MC20 Cielo is returning for a second run after a debut jaunt last year.
Maserati Ghibli gets smashed on its way to Top Safety Pick rating [w/video]
Sat, 30 Nov 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has crash-tested the 2014 Maserati Ghibli, and the Italian luxury sedan scored has well enough to earn the institute's Top Safety Pick rating. The model netted "Good" marks - the IIHS' highest rating - in moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints and seats tests.
The new Maserati is equipped seven airbags and features strategic use of hot-formed steel to optimize vehicle strength for safety and aluminum to lower weight for better driving performance. While it still pains us to see two new Maseratis smashed to smithereens (watch the videos below), we imagine the company's well-heeled prospective owners will feel better about their $65,600+ purchases knowing that they aced the tests.
Head on below to see crash test videos from both the IIHS and Europe's NCAP, as well as for Maserati's official release, which covers some of the safety engineering that has gone into its new entry-level sedan.
The List #0100: Drive the Italian Alps
Tue, Jul 7 2015The List travels to northern Italy to experience driving the Italian Alps. For this grand drive, we need a proper grand touring sports car. The Maserati Quattroporte fits the bill, with four doors, space for luggage, and all-wheel drive for those snowy mountain passes. But first our hosts make a quick stop at the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari in Modena to take in an exhibit celebrating 100 years of Maserati. "The scenery is unbelievable," says host Patrick McIntyre. "If you're going to come all the way to Italy, rent a car and drive through [the Alps]." Join Jessi and Patrick as the check 'drive the Italian Alps' off of their list. Have an RSS feed?
