1995 Mitsubishi 3000gt Spyder Sl Convertible 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Decatur, Georgia, United States
Condition
Yes, this 19-year-old car has only 23,120 miles (more about that in the History)! It is in very good to excellent condition. Mechanically, there are no known issues and I would describe it as in excellent condition. It passed a 27 point inspection and emissions test in 2013. The exterior is in good to very good condition with the original paint job, but five (5) small dents and scratches (see photos of three of the dents and scratches. Two of the dents and scratches are so small that I was not able to capture them with the camera). I would describe just one of the dents as significant. It is over the passenger side, rear tire well (see photo), and there does appear to be some rust beginning to form. The gray leather interior is in very good to excellent condition, with no tears or significant scratches. It comes from a smoke free environment. The speaker grill in the passenger door is slightly discolored. The car comes from a smoke free environment, and as far as I know, no one has ever smoked in it. It does not smell of cigarette smoke. The one, perhaps, significant problem is that the hardtop convertible feature DOES NOT work, and as a result, there is a constant chime sound when operating the car. I say perhaps significant because if you are patient, if you have time and it you are good with cars, there is a great likelihood that this problem is fixable. There are all sorts of resources online where, if you have the time, you can go and figure out the hard top issue. I started down that road and got as far as a computer program that tells me that the problem is a "Damaged Header Limit Switch," with "Error Codes" 2, 4, 37, 21 and 25 (the experienced Spyder owners know what this means). Again, this problem may be easily solvable for someone who has time and patience, but I decided to stop there and list this car "as is" here. There is also a problem with the alarm system that I was not able to figure out. Sometimes when you lock the car using the key, the alarm sounds. You can turn the alarm off by inserting the key and turning it. But, this is a problem to be addressed. Features This automobile is very rare. It appears there were only 1,034 total Spyders produced in the world, and only 368 1995 Spyder SLs produced. History I believe I am the fourth owner of the vehicle. A friend of our family purchased it. He was a collector of rare automobiles with about seven that he kept in a garage. He owned this one for several years and rarely drove it. He passed away and left it to my mom, who sold it to me. I am aware of one minor accident. While my mom owned it, she allowed a relative to drive it. The relative rear-ended another vehicle. Unfortunately, I do not have records of the repairs that were made, but I do know the radiator had to be replaced and part of the front had to be repainted. I love this car, but I have a young family and have figured out that it is not practical for me right now. Shipping and Payment Buyer responsible for pick-up or shipping. Maserati confirms limited edition Quattroporte Zegna for production
Thu, Jul 17 2014Last year two of the biggest names in Italian style – one from the automotive industry and one from fashion – announced a partnership. Together Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna revealed a "concept" version of the Quattroporte at the Frankfurt Motor Show, only given how production-ready the show car already looked, nobody really believed it would remain just a concept. And now, having revealed the final version in Geneva, Maserati has confirmed it for production. Limited production, that is, because Maserati will only build 100 examples of the Quattroporte Zegna edition for consumption around the world. That's about one-thirtieth of the number of cars Maserati produces each month at this point, and while the Modenese automaker doesn't break down its sales figures by model, the QP accounts for a large proportion of those numbers. Maserati also hasn't said just how much it will charge for the Zegna edition, but you can bet it'll be a handsome premium – more than some of those designer-edition hatchbacks get at any rate – yet it'll undoubtedly offload the entire run in short order. "ONE OF 100" THE MASERATI QUATTROPORTE ZEGNA LIMITED EDITION Wednesday, July 16, 2014 – After making its world debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Maserati has revealed an exclusive limited edition Maserati Quattroporte in collaboration with luxury Italian fashion house, Ermenegildo Zegna. Just 100 examples of the limited series will be built which feature colour schemes, materials and exclusive trims which link the histories of the two brands. To celebrate the launch of the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition, Maserati and Zegna are embarking on a tour of four international events starting in Shanghai in July 2014 before stopping in New York (Sept 2014), Dubai (Feb 2015) and Milan (Spring 2015). The events are designed to present the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition to an exclusive audience and to celebrate the partnership between the two Italian brands; both of whom are masters in Italian excellence. The exclusive event locations have been carefully selected to enhance the uniqueness of the alliance and represent the pinnacle of Italian elegance. Guests will be able to discover the car's premium finishes in detail and see the extraordinary result of the partnership. World famous Italian photographer, Fabrizio Ferri, will be in attendance at each of the four events capturing 100 unique images – 25 from each occasion.
Maserati electrified the new Grecale SUV, and it's the top performer
Thu, Apr 20 2023Maserati is going electric, first with the announcement of the GranTurismo Folgore, its first electrified performance car, and now with the reveal of the Grecale Folgore electric SUV. The brand announced the vehicle at the Shanghai Auto Show this week, along with the promise that all its models would offer electric options by 2025. The 550-horsepower electric SUV gets a dual-motor powertrain, which delivers 605 pound-feet of torque, and standard all-wheel drive. Maserati promises a range of around 311 miles (500km) and a top speed of 137 mph. Compare that with the gas-powered Grecale Modena’s 325 horsepower, and itÂ’s clear this will be the performance halo of the SUV line. Though electric, the Grecale Folgore retains MaseratiÂ’s signature grille look and trident logo up front. ItÂ’s a more traditional presentation than the weird closed-off nose many EVs carry, and the automaker left its iconic three-porthole styling element on the front fenders. Wheel sizes range from 19 to 21 inches, depending on the market, and the SUV gets gloss-black exterior trim. Maserati installed a 12.3-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster and said that many of the Grecale FolgoreÂ’s controls have gone digital in the infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto join a few Chinese-market apps like WeChat and Baidu CarLife, and the Maserati digital assistant system has been updated for the electric SUV. Grecale Folgore buyers can work with Maserati on home or public charging solutions, including facilitating charging across Europe and China. The automaker can facilitate home charging installation, including shipping a wallbox charger to buyersÂ’ homes or offices. The SUV itself comes with 400-volt electric architecture, as well as battery preconditioning and temperature management to ensure the fastest charging. We donÂ’t have pricing or a U.S. release date for the new SUV, but Maserati talked more about its first EV, the GranTurismo Folgore, at the show. The car features more than 750 horsepower at the wheels and an 800-volt electrical system for ultra-fast charging. Gas versions of the car are available with up to 542 horsepower from a twin-turbo V6. Green Auto Shanghai Maserati Electric
FCA is setting a five-year strategy: Here's how the last one played out
Thu, May 31 2018We're slightly more than four years removed from Sergio Marchionne last five-year plan for FCA, a tell-all where the Italian-American automaker divulged its plans for the 2014 through 2018 model years. It was a grand affair, where Sergio told FCA investors that all was right in Auburn Hills, Alfa Romeo and Maserati were making comebacks, and the fifth-gen Dodge Viper received a mid-cycle refresh. You can read every last one of those past predictions right here. We're on our way to Europe to see Sergio's sequel, coming out Friday straight from FCA's Italian headquarters. (Bloomberg reports a plan to expand Jeep and Ram globally, combine Alfa Romeo and Maserati into a single division for an eventual spinoff, and downsizing Fiat and Chrysler. Also, EVs.) But before we arrive in Italy and find out exactly what Marchionne has planned for 2019 through 2023 as his last act as CEO, let's take a minute to tally up the results of his last term based on the same scoresheet we used in 2014. Now, we're only five months into 2018, so much of this — including vehicles like the Ram HD and Jeep Grand Wagoneer — could still debut this year. For those, we'll mark things TBD. We're not going to draw any conclusions or make any objectionable remarks. We're simply going to let the stats speak for themselves.
