A little about the car: This is a Thunder Ranch car. TR purchased Beck's original tooling for there 4 cylinder kits. This 6 cylinder kit is their own design and culmination of a lot of hard work which is why these are so rare and so expensive. Not to mention the additional cost of the 911 motor. TR has made over 330 (4 cylinder kits) and only 5 (6 cylinder kits like mine). This is a very rare vehicle. There is over $85,000 into this car and if you wanted to recreate it you would spend near 6 figures. This is your chance to own it at a fraction of what it would cost to build with all of the work being complete and can be enjoyed immediately. KitCar Magazine Cover car in 2009. This car was on the cover with a large article written about it in 2009. I have 3 copies of the magazine that will come with the car. The only difference is that I changed some of the interior to red and added red leather heated seats... which is a great addition for those cold mornings or nights. Mileage: 4,600 kilometers (<1,000 on rebuilt motor and carbs), approx. 2,800 miles. Note: New Red interior completed less than 2 months ago. Some older photos will show black seats which were vinyl. Motor: less than 1000 miles since rebuild - 2.4 liter twin plug 1973 911S motor. This was a stock 2.4 liter. The S heads were added and twin plugged, S cams, S pistons, etc... to make it a true "S" motor. I recently completed a top end rebuild (Competition Engineering in Lake Isabella performed the work) and inspected the bottom end which needed nothing and looked great. The only thing that was replaced was the access circular oil gasket on the bottom of the motor by the drain plug which was weeping. All front main and rear seals were all dry as a bone. - Peterson 10 quart oiling system with hard in-line oil filter and cooler with built in fan. This car will never overheat because of how open the motor is. The fan rarely even comes on. - Rebuilt Weber 40mm stacks done by Paul at Performance Oriented. This was a complete rebuild with center shaft drilling... not cheap! - New Mallory Comp fuel pump with Holly fuel pressure regulator and A/N inline (reusable) fuel filter. Also, all new stainless steel braided fuel lines were added when the engine was rebuilt - Installed new style auto weather proof engine wiring harness connectors for easy removal when needed. This is a 8-way connector and used for all major wires from fuse panel to engine. Very easy to disconnect during engine removal or maintenance. - Estimated at 225hp (if not more) and the car weighs approx. 1,400lbs. - Custom 3-2-1 ceramic coated exhaust system with Dynaflow mini mufflers. - Hydraulic assisted slave cylinder on clutch for easy driving. Exterior/Interior: - Racing plex windshield by Hanna manufacturing - 356 glass windshield included with all framework and fasteners. I couldn't bring myself to drill holes for installation and love the current look of the vehicle. - Tonneau cover custom made by Stitch at Classic Interiors and has a zipper to remove just one section for warmer conditions for driver or to protect against the elements if caught in rain. - custom rear view mirror with headlight style holder - Porsche square weave carpet - 718 style balsa wood shifter (also in Carrera GT) - Nardi steering wheel - bucket seats from Thunder Ranch (heated top and bottom with low and high settings) - Twin Porsche style grill Suspension/Transmission/Brakes: - 901 transaxle from 914. - 914 drive axles - four link suspension with panhard bar and DiDion tube. Supported by Aldan aluminum coilovers. - CNC 4-piston calipers up front and 911 2-piston calipers in the rear (brand new). - Porsche 944 master cylinder Wheels/Tires: - Porsche Fuchs 16x7 and 16x6 - Brand new Dunlop DZ101 tires This vehicle is also on YouTube. I have posted several videos so you can see how the car sounds and drives. Please search under "Bryan Boardwell" to locate the videos. |

Marchionne says no offers are on the table for Fiat Chrysler
Sun, Sep 3 2017MONZA, Italy (Reuters) - Fiat Chrysler (FCA) has not received any offer for the company nor is the world's seventh-largest carmaker working on any "big deal", Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said on Saturday. Speaking on the sidelines of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix, Marchionne said the focus remained on executing the company's business plan to 2018. Asked whether FCA had been approached by someone or whether there was an offer on the table, he simply said: "No." The company's share price jumped to record highs last month after reports of interest for the group or some of its brands from China. China's Great Wall Motor Co Ltd openly said it was interested in FCA, but had not held talks or signed a deal with executives at the Italian-American automaker. The stock move was also helped by expectations that the company might separate from some of its units. Marchionne reiterated on Saturday that FCA was working on a plan to "purify" its portfolio and that units, such as the components businesses, would be separated from the group. He hopes to complete that process by the end of 2018. "There are activities within the group that do not belong to a car manufacturer, for example the components businesses. The group needs to be cleared of those things," he told journalists. Asked whether an announcement could come this year, Marchionne said it was up to the board to decide and that it would next meet at the end of September. He said the time was not right for a spin-off of luxury brand Maserati and premium Alfa Romeo and the two brands needed to become self-sustainable entities first and "have the muscle to stand on their feet, make sufficient cash". "The way we see it now, it's almost impossible, if not impossible, to see a spin-off of Alfa Romeo/Maserati, these are two entities that are immature and in a development phase," he said. "It's the wrong moment, we are not in a condition to do it." He said the concept of separating the two brands from FCA's mass market business made sense and did not rule out this happening in future, but not under his tenure, which lasts until April 2019. "If there is an opportunity in future, it would certainly happen after I'm gone. It won't happen while Marchionne is around," he said.
Learn why this man has four different Maserati 3500GT classics
Wed, 26 Feb 2014When you're born, it's impossible to know what sort of cars you'll be into as an adult. Your dad might be into old Mopars while your mom prefers a Ford Mustang. You, on the other hand, might end up being a fan of English cars (that was the case with your author, at least). Regardless of which vehicle type, era or marque you prefer, though, it's usually possible to trace back to the exact moment you fell in love with them.
For Frank Mandarano, his love of all things Maserati started at its birthplace in Italy, before spawning into a passion that saw him found a club and take possession of four 3500s over the years. One car in Mandrano's one-make collection stands out, though - a rare 3500GT that was imported into Mexico in 1960. It is a sweet sounding and gorgeous coupe to behold, making it the perfect subject for the crew at Petrolicious. Scroll down and have a look.
2015 Maserati GranTurismo to show new styling language for brand
Tue, 25 Jun 2013Despite the fact that Maserati has yet to officially mention the next generation of its grand touring lineup, it seems like we know plenty of details about the upcoming range of Maserati coupes and convertibles. First we heard that the GranTurismo line would be growing to include three models, then we heard that new, smaller two-seater (possibly named Gran Sport) could be here by 2016 and, most recently, reports indicated that the GranTurismo's successor will feature more compact dimensions to better take on the Porsche 911.
Now Edmunds is reporting that the 2015 GranTurismo will mark a major evolution in the design language for the Italian automaker, while the Levante SUV will get the current styling cues found on the 2014 Quattroporte and 2014 Ghibli. The article also says that Maserati is planning to offer its models with a wider range of available colors and that it will introduce new limited-edition models as well all in hopes of selling 50,000 units globally by 2015.
