FOR SALE:
2007 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT with F1 Duoselect manual transmission. We bought this car in 2009 and have enjoyed it a lot. It was never a daily driver, as it feels exotic and special, and has always been garaged and taken care of extremely well. The car's color combo and overall appearance is very beautiful, and attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. More than that, it's a dream to drive as it is one of the best handling sport sedans made. With it's Ferrari-designed engine and Ferrari-based transmission, and supremely responsive handling, it's an experience to drive it. However, the time has come for us to scale down to our 2 daily drivers, so we are hoping our Maserati finds a great new home.

FEATURES:
  • Extremely rare "Blue Mediterraneo" custom factory-order exterior color (have not seen another QP with this color!), with blue leather premium leather interior with red stitching, tan alcantara contrasting headliner. Extremely rare color combo - most likely only one in U.S. or perhaps the world.
  • Very low miles, very clean, feels very new inside
  • Pretty much every option:
    • Chrome Sport GT wheels with Pirelli tires
    • Sport GT package/trim includes exhaust & suspension upgrades
    • Heated & ventilated front seats
    • Aluminum foot petals
    • 4-zone climate control with rear seat controls
    • CD changer
    • Power rear sunshade
    • Rear side window shades
    • Factory GPS system
  • Formula Dynamics drive-by-wire module:
    • Dramatically improved throttle response and power delivery throughout entire RPM range
    • Increases low-end torque
    • Near-immediate clutch engagement which reduces wear and vastly increases clutch life
    • Virtually undetectable installation that leaves your stock ECU in-tact. This is not an ECU flash.
    • After driving the car before the module and after, I would NEVER own a QP without this module. The car feels so much quicker and more agile, with torque on demand, with this mod. It can also be bypassed if ever needed.
CONDITION
  • Very low miles. Approximately 13,000 miles, and these were very easy, weekend driving to brunch or dinner miles.
  • Regularly waxed and detailed - incredible depth of shine and paint condition.
  • Always garaged
  • New battery recently installed
  • Tires and brakes in newish condition
  • Inside of car is nearly flawless and feels generally very new.
This is simply a very special car. Please ask if you have any questions before bidding. Thank you for looking!

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. Maserati releases quartet of videos featuring new Quattroporte

Tue, 06 Nov 2012

In case you missed it, Maserati has decided to introduce the world to its next Quattroporte well ahead of its official debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January. As expected, it's beautiful.
Not content to leave well enough alone, the Italian automaker has revealed a series of videos to go along with the six images and press release it had already let loose upon the globe's unsuspecting automotive press.
We're still a bit shaky on the details, but Maserati says the Quattroporte's new engine, assembled by Ferrari in Maranello, will "[establish] new benchmarks for Maserati in terms of power and acceleration." That sounds good to us, though we're not sure if that means 530 horsepower as possibly alluded to by the license plate on the press shots. We also note that the automaker says the car is designed to accept "a wide range of engine architectures," so that rumored supercharged V6 sounds likely.

Leno profiles Pebble Beach-winning 1956 Maserati

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

We enjoy it when Jay Leno and his web show, Jay Leno's Garage, take a look at new, modern cars. When the comedian gets his paws on a proper classic, though, he's at his best. Leno is able to display an impressive breadth of knowledge about even obscure models, and that's no different here, as the winner of its class at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a 1956 Maserati A6G-2000 Allemano rolls into the garage.
Part of the Maserati A6 family, this A6G is one of just 21 cars produced with coachwork by Carrozzeria Allemano, making it one of the rarer cars to grace Jay Leno's Garage. It's powered by a 2.0-liter inline-six, and, as Leno points out, is far more of a road car than the race-oriented Maseratis of the day.
Scroll down for the latest episode from Jay Leno's Garage on this fully restored 1956 Maserati.
