2005 Maserati Quattroporte Gorgeous Well Kept Exotic on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:58100 Color: has just a flew nicks from stones or such
Location:

Yellow Springs, Ohio, United States

Yellow Springs, Ohio, United States

It's very difficult to describe this car adequately! It has many personalities. You can drive it easily and shift at low revs and haul your mother around and all she thinks is "What an absolutely lovely car! I wish I was 15 years younger,  I'd buy it" She's 91. On  another hand you can load it up with your gear head friends and dial it up while in sport mode and just blow their minds. This is an extremely capable (big) sports car. Just not much else even comes close. Personally I prefer to go it alone and just get lost in the drive. And what a drive------!!

This car started life in California I'm told (it does have just the California Navigation disc) and then found it's way to North Carolina. I brought it to Ohio, but it has not seen any severe winter conditions. No salt corrosion.

Car was fully serviced in July at a Maserati dealer (I have receipts): fluids changed,  new brakes pads, rear tie rods (recall campaign). Previous owner stated the dealer she bought the car from had installed new tires just a few thousand miles ago. Tires, Pirelli P Zero's, do appear as new. New license plate bracket installed.

Car runs and drives fabulously. Smells like new. Sounds fantastic when pressed!

Car has more features than I can remember, but those interested probably have done their homework---any specific questions I can address.

The exterior has just a flew nicks from stones or such (58000 miles) but the paint is just amazing. I have never seen factory paint done so well, as perfect as it gets. One door ding not easily seen.

The interior shows minimal wear. There is one small mark on the driver's seat bottom, a little discoloration, very minor. Actually these photos were taken before I cleaned the seats, nearly all discoloration wiped off readily. The wood console shows just a bit of what must be sun damage to the clear finish on the top edge. Again, very minor. All in all a very well kept environment. I would guess this car has always been garaged. A few of the rubber buttons/ash tray have a bit of the "sticky rubber" syndrome common to these and pretty much all Italian cars. Kinda nice really for you can definitively feel those rather small buttons while driving. And there's a lot of them! This car probably has 5 times the computer capacity that NASA had in the Apollo program. I'm still learning the capabilities. I mostly just drive in rapture and love the natural music of that Ferrari derived marvel . The stereo does kick butt though if wanted.

These cars must represent one of the best bangs for the buck presently. No other car to my taste has all the qualities of these. $100,000+ when new, about a quarter of that now. Good lord, this is a lot of car for not really much money. The styling, performance, utility (really) is unmatched.

Thanks for looking, I encourage a personal inspection if possible.  Call Doug 937 231 0193.

Maserati showcasing opulent Levante options in New York

Sat, Apr 13 2019

Fiat Chrysler CEO Mike Manley said last year that it was a mistake to pair Maserati with Alfa Romeo because it suggested Maserati was a mass-market brand. Now on its own, this year the house of the trident begins to unfurl its luxury wings. The Ghibli, Quattroporte, and GranTurismo Convertible will be on hand, but focus rests on the Levante SUV for the New York Auto Show. Maserati plans North American debuts of its One of One Customization Program and the brand-exclusive Pelletessuta interior designed by Ermenegildo Zegna. One of One ushers Maserati buyers into the same realm of possibilities that BMW's Individual or Porsche Exclusiv does for those German brands, the standard over the gateway reading, "Anything is Possible." Up to now, the GranTurismo - the carmaker's second-oldest offering - has offered the greatest range of customization. Yet those stock choices in hue and finish pale when compared to One of One's "thousands of interior and exterior options" wrought by "Italian artisanal craftsmanship." As Maserati did in Geneva when debuting the program, a celebrity will visit the New York show stand to take delivery of "their never seen before" One of One Levante GTS. The general population gets the keys to the One of One program "in the near future." The other show car will be a bronze Zegna Levante S Q4 GranSport with the new Pelletessuta woven Nappa leather interior. Said to be a lightweight material created by the Italian fashion house, both durable and comfortable, Pelletessuta will only be available in Maseratis. The carmaker seems to have done us a disservice by posting photos of the material in black, or perhaps they're trying to lure us to the show to see it for ourselves. The new leather won't be available in North America until spring of 2020, so if your mind had already begun considering a calico-cat-matched One of One interior in a Gattara-colored Ghibli, it's going to be a minute.

Marchionne wants Maserati to be FCA's new Ferrari

Fri, Jul 10 2015

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is gearing up to spin Ferrari, its most profitable brand, off into another company, and float its stock on the open market. That means it's going to need another profit-driver to generate income for the rest of the group. And according to its chief executive Sergio Marchionne, that mantle will soon be picked up by Maserati. FCA is betting big on Maserati, which has long stood as a niche marque with a limited array of models and low sales numbers. In addition to the recently introduced Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans – now crucially offered with diesels and all-wheel drive – Maserati is preparing to roll out the Levante crossover that promises to do for the Modenese marque what the Cayenne did for Porsche. Due in part to the success of its first crossover, Porsche turned itself from a niche sports car manufacturer into an immensely profitable automaker that was (nearly) capable of buying out the entire Volkswagen Group. Maserati's resurgence is part of a two-pronged assault FCA is plotting against its German rivals. Maserati will be charged with taking on the higher end of the Mercedes, BMW, and Audi ranges (from the E-Class, 5 Series and A6 upwards). Meanwhile, Alfa Romeo will go after the lower end of the luxury spectrum with the new Giulia (aimed at the C-Class, 3 Series and A4) and other models to follow. FCA aims to turn Maserati and Alfa Romeo (along with Jeep) into global brands, broadening the narrow geographical appeal they have held until now. In order to generate enough profit to support the rest of the group as Ferrari has, Maserati will need to find a way to increase its profit margins. Bloomberg reports that Ferraris command a 13-percent profit margin, and while the ten percent that Maseratis list for is still triple that of the FCA average, slow sales are forcing some dealers to offer deep incentives that cut significantly into that margin. Alfa Romeo Giulia to get Ferrari-related engine

Fri, Jun 19 2015

Alfa Romeo has a long, proud history of using V6 engines in its coupes, sedans, and sports cars over the years, but as the new Giulia sedan approaches, the Italian marque is allegedly turning to Ferrari for its next six-cylinder. This is obviously not the first time a Ferrari-sourced or derived engine has been found under an Alfa's long hood. While 8C Competizione famously used a version of Ferrari's F136 V8 during its short run, the Giulia's new V6 will be offered on a much larger scale, slotting in above an entry level, four-cylinder turbo (likely the next-gen version of the 4C sports car's 1.75-liter engine). According to Autocar, the new V6 will be "specially developed for Alfa Romeo," and will be built at the Termoli engine factory alongside the new turbo four-cylinder. As for the rest of the Giulia, Autocar has been able to shine a light on a number of other details about the new midsizer. It will, thankfully, be rear-wheel drive, and designed to counter the "mostly cold and clinical" and soulless cars of the German competition, Maserati chief Harald Wester told AC. Some of the new sedan's structural elements will even be shared with Maserati's entry level model, the Ghibli. Most notable of all, though, is what the Giulia means for American consumers. After the limited-run 8C and the niche 4C, the new sedan will lead Alfa Romeo's long-awaited, large-scale return, where it will combat the popular BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, not to mention rivals like the Cadillac ATS and Lexus IS. Look for more on the Giulia next week when it's officially revealed in Milan.
