I have had this car for under a year, purchased from a retired friend of the family (original owner) in Woodside California then driven to Phoenix. The car is in exceptional condition with only few minor blemishes described below. First and foremost, this Quattroporte has a perfect running 4.9 engine, no parts missing & all original under the hood, air conditioning is disconnected from drive belt and is untested, heater is untested as well, fan blows inside the car front and rear passenger. It was serviced about three months ago with new plugs, wires, cap/rotor/brush. Carburetors were synchronized and jets replaced. Oil changed about 800 miles ago, emissions passed in Arizona with flying colors and is currently tagged until next year. Transmission is a three speed torqueflite which was rebuilt no more than a year ago with all new cooling hose to and back from radiator, torque converter and starter, shifts 100%, NOTE; When the transmission was rebuilt, the rear main seal to the engine was replaced as well for good measure, I personally drove the car around town in California attending car shows just to keep it running, I went to fill her up with gas on my trip back to Arizona, pushed the re-set the trip counter button as I always do & the odometer/trip counter has failed to work since, I drove it home and parked it in the garage, needless to say I will not be driving it anymore in order to preserve it's original mileage. The car's interior is near mint, shows it's low mileage- Floor mats look as though they've never seen a shoe, leather seats all around are 100% no holes/tears/stains including the driver seat and elbow rest. wood interior is slightly cracking from age but not noticable until you feel it with your fingers, Steering wheel leather looks unused, cloth headliner is intact and looks new, leather in the very rear back window shows slight shrinkage from exposure to sun. The electrical system is needing some attention, let's remember it's an 1982, so not everything on this car will be perfect, with that said, let me state that everything on the car works electronically, BUT it's intermittent meaning some features will function sporadically (on and off when it wants to) assuming it's a relay issue, radio, fuel door, clock, horn, are showing power, but low voltage, the radio is an aftermarket removeable face type, I was told it could be the culprit for all these issues but I refuse to remove it. My opinion is a good electrician should look at it. NOTE: what was mentioned just now is the only true CON about this car, ALL the windows, turn signals, dash lights, gauges (fuel level, fuel consumption, speedometer, temp, oil, tachometer (idles perfectly) both mirror adjusters, trunk switch, DUAL power seats, etc work 100% otherwise with the exception of the odometer as mentioned before. The body & paint are VERY clean, with only a few rusty blemishes on the bottom of the doors and a spot on the rear trunk (shown in the photographs), Chrome is 100%, grille is 100%, bumpers are 100%, two wheels were re-finished but the other two need help with aesthetics, otherwise the Campagnolo wheels are straight and not bent with NEW tires installed no more than 800 miles ago. I had the car on a lift and it was inspected, the two fuel pumps are intact, no issues to report, brake pads are OK, tires show no wear, no cracks or broken or missing pieces, dual exhaust looks & sounds good. Trunk is clean & has full size spare Campagnolo wheel with Pirelli tire mounted, no tools or jack included except for a lug wrench. All doors including hood and trunk open and close with a tight seal, no missing parts on the body, and has all original glass from 1982 including heated windshield with no cracks, the car has clearly not been driven much, she is currently street legal and will run forever as long as it's maintenance is done and would not be hard to get to show room condition, a fine example of Italian history, Arizona free and clear title in my name notarized and ready for sale. Shipping will be buyers responsibility, local pick up accepted but not recommended to drive out of Arizona since it's in the 100's here and the A/C is unknown as mentioned. I'm very confident that it will please anyone, I've removed my phone number due to some serious spam texts so if you have questions please ask, and dont forget to view the "AutoCheck" (States one owner but in reality I'm the second) Title is Arizona BOX "A" (Actual) mileage and has not been driven since title was issued in Arizona.

Maserati pulls the plug on Trofeo spec racing series [w/video]
Thu, Dec 31 2015For the past twelve years, customers looking to push their Maserati to the limit have been taking part in the Trofeo series. But the Italian automaker is pulling the plug and stepping into to GT4 competition. The Trofeo World Series kicked off back in 2003 when the field was made up of spec racers based on the old Maserati 4200. The newer GranTurismo MC took its place in 2010, and with it the series expanded from Europe into other locations. This year's calendar saw it race at Paul Ricard in France and the Red Bull Ring in Austria, at Road America, VIR, and Laguna Seca here in America, at Suzuka in Japan and Abu Dhabi in the Middle East. This will be the last season for the championship, but that doesn't mean client racers won't have a chance to turn the wheel of a Maserati in anger again. Instead of competing exclusively against identical machinery, Maserati will now support customer teams in two racing series under GT4 regulations: the Pirelli World Challenge here in the US and the European GT4 Championship across the pond. To that end, it's adapting the GranTurismo MC from Trofeo spec to GT4 by reducing the output from the 4.7-liter V8 from 488 horsepower to 430 and tweaking the aero package. Following the Balance of Performance tests to be undertaken under the auspices of the SRO (which runs the Euro GT4 series as well as the Blancpain championships), a good 10 teams will field 20 cars between the two series on both sides of the Atlantic. Those still interested in competing in spec racing series with identical machinery still have plenty of places to turn, including the Ferrari Challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, and the Porsche Supercup. Check out the modified Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 in the gallery above and video below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. MASERATI TO COMPETE IN THE 2016 GT4 CHAMPIONSHIPS 17 December 2015 - The final round of the 2015 Trofeo World Series took place at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina circuit last weekend, bringing the sixth and final season in Maserati's single-make series to a close. This, however, will not be the end of Maserati's sporting activities: the GranTurismo MCs will be back on track in 2016 competing in the international GT4 series run by private teams.
The Maserati MC20's new Nettuno V6 is a high-tech showpiece
Wed, Feb 17 2021It's been more than two decades since Maserati was in the business of developing an in-house 90-degree V6 engine, and the last one it had traced its genealogy back 30 years. That story started in 1968, when Citroen took a controlling stake in Maserati, and the French requested that the Italians create an engine for the 1970 Citroen SM. Famed Maserati engineer Giulio Alfieri designed a 2.7-liter V6 producing 170 horsepower that could be built using Maserati's existing V8 tooling, hence the 90-degree angle. Alfieri then revised that V6 and bored it out to three liters, upping output to 187 hp, for use in the 1972 Maserati Merak. A decade later, Maserati – now owned by Alejandro de Tomaso, who had fired Alfieri — started with Alfieri's V6 philosophy when developing a mill for a new sports car. The resulting V6 unit, in 2.0-, 2.5-, and 2.8-liter displacements, was the first twin-turbocharged motor put into a production car. That car? The hot, gorgeous mess known as the 1984 Maserati BiTurbo. Almost 10 years on, the 1992 Maserati Ghibli II would get a 2.0-liter version of this 90-degree V6 making 306 horsepower. The 1995 Ghibli Cup turned that mill up to 330 hp, crowning the 2.0-liter V6 as the most power-dense engine in a production car, surpassing 1990s icons like the Jaguar XJ220 and original Bugatti EB110 (both 155 horsepower per liter). When the Ghibli exited production in 1998, Maserati ceded engine development duties to Ferrari by order of Fiat, which owned both automakers. 2022 Maserati MC20 View 47 Photos Nettuno, the new beating heart of Maserati Now we have the Nettuno, a 90-degree 3.0-liter V6 created to power Maserati's renaissance and making its debut in the chunky, aerodynamic form known as the MC20. At 630 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque, the engine almost picks up where the Ghibli Cup left off: with 210 horsepower/liter, the Nettuno is one of the most power-dense in the world. The Bugatti Chiron, Ford GT, and McLaren 756LT don't crack 200 hp/l. The only production cars in the ballpark are Euro specials like the Mercedes-AMG A45 (208.4 hp/l). Beyond it are seven-figure hypercars like the SSC Tuatara (229 hp/l) and Koenigsegg Jesko (256 hp/l on gas, 320 hp/l on E85). The word we're looking for in Italian is bentornato. Welcome back, Maserati.
Maserati recalls 135 GranTurismos over door latches
Tue, Dec 1 2015Maserati issued a recall for faulty door latches on the GranTurismo. Only 135 examples are affected, though the GranTurismo is a low-volume product. The problem with the door latches is that they may not have been properly heat-treated, which means that in the event of a crash, the door could swing open. All of the affected GranTurismos (both coupes and convertibles) are from the 2016 model year and were produced between June 24, 2015, and September 2, 2015. While Maserati's sales figures (thanks largely to the introduction of newer models) continue to climb, the GranTurismo accounts for only a small portion of the company's overall production. Last year the company sold an all-time high of 36,500 units around the world, of which only 3,500 (or less than one tenth) were from the GranTurismo line - which remains the oldest in the Maserati lineup. Since introducing the GranTurismo in 2007, the Modenese automaker has rolled out the Ghibli, replaced the Quattroporte, and is preparing to delve into the SUV market with the forthcoming Levante. A new two-door model is expected to arrive in the form of the Alfieri, which won't replace the GranTurismo, per se, but we wouldn't expect the GranTurismo to stick around for long after the Alfieri comes along. RECALL Subject : Passenger Side Door Latch Not Heat Treated Report Receipt Date: NOV 10, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V744000 Component(s): LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES Potential Number of Units Affected: 135 Manufacturer: Maserati North America, Inc. CONSEQUENCE: If the door latch was not heat treated, in the event of a crash, the door latch may fail allowing the door to open, increasing the risk of injury. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-201-816-2600. Maserati's number for this recall is 292.
