Summary: 2011 Lotus Evora S, VIN SCCLMDSU4BHA11842, six speed manual transmission, rare special order Bordeau red
exterior, black leather interior, 8,076 miles, showroom condition inside and out, Larini muffler, upgraded Wilwood
clutch reservoir, clean and extensive history, 2 owners. Originally special ordered by Denver area Lotus club
member, currently MD enthusiast owned. Being sold as part of an upgrade to a McLaren MP4-12C.
Background: The Lotus Evora S is a significant upgrade to the already great standard Evora, bumping HP from 276 in
the standard car to 345 via a 5.5 psi supercharger added to the 3.5L V6. Other S upgrades include an improved
shift linkage for the six speed manual, more aggressive exterior styling, and suspension upgrades. The S also
includes optional base Evora packages as standard, including the sport suspension and sport gearbox. Performance
from the Evora S matches the exotic styling, as the 3171 lb lightweight sports car will do 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and
pull 0.98 G on the skid pad. The driving experience is pure Lotus, agile and responsive without being harsh. The
Larini exhaust provides an exotic sound track without being obnoxious, a perfect fit for the car. Unlike its more
hardcore brothers the Elise and Exige, the Evora is equally capable of being a track toy or a daily driver.
Options:
Technology Package – navigation, rear view camera
Audio Package – upgraded audio speakers
Paint Protection Film
Special Order Paint
Upgraded Wheels
Exterior: Absolutely incredible condition outside. Per the description when buying the car, this may be the only
Evora with a Bordeau red exterior as it was special ordered by the original owner and not found on the standard
color list. Regardless it is certainly rare and an absolutely stunning color, the pictures do not do the depth and
richness of the color justice. Extensively detailed and nearly flawless, the car has a clean accident history and
original paint. Forged alloy wheels are in like new condition without curbing or other damage, and wear Michelin
Pilot Super Sport tires with like new tread. Original and excellent condition glass without visible wear. The
only exterior flaw of note is light scuffing on the underside of the front bumper lower lip, which is not visible
unless the car is on a lift. The underside is extensively detailed as well, with the car sharing time on a four
post lift with a Shelby Super Snake.
Interior: As new condition inside. Flawless without any stains, tears, wear, damage, pets, or smoking. The
upgraded audio, navigation, and rear view camera are worthwhile optional upgrades to the standard Evora audio
system. All features work flawlessly, with ice cold A/C, hot heat, cruise control, power windows/locks/mirrors,
etc. The rear seats were upgraded to leather seats from another Evora, so they are a perfect match to the leather
front buckets. Very light scuffing on the driver’s side Recaro outer bolster is the only flaw. The rear seats
are in like new condition, and while small are usable for children or a short drive in a pinch. The cockpit is
overall a very comfortable place to spend time, driver oriented and high quality. An exceptional car.
Mechanical: Again, as new condition. As expected the driving experience is amazing, the steering is typical Lotus
telepathic, the brakes are strong and responsive, the shifter is smooth and positive with a linear and easy to
modulate clutch, and the suspension and mid-engined layout yield a scalpel of a car. Finally the upgraded
supercharged 3.5L V6 belies its Toyota beginnings with smooth linear power, responsive from all RPM levels, and an
exotic sound with the supercharger undertone. The exhaust also provides an incredible sound with an amazing howl
at higher RPM levels, but still mellow at lower RPMs. The clutch reservoir has been upgraded to a Wilwood unit to
improve feel and reduce fade when hot. This Lotus drives exactly as well as you would expect a pampered car with
just over 8,000 miles to drive, and that is as new. No mechanical flaws to note, the engine starts easily without
smoke or warning lights, there are no leaks, the transmission shifts smoothly without grinding, the clutch is free
of chatter or slipping, the brakes are smooth and strong without pulling, and the suspension is free of clunks or
other negative characteristics. Owned by two obsessive car enthusiasts this Lotus has never been subjected to any
variety of racing, instead it has lived life stored indoors under cover and driven on nice days only. Again, as
new condition.
Maintenance: Very well maintained but also very reliable, this Lotus has wanted for nothing. Recent maintenance
includes multiple inspections, an improved clutch reservoir, multiple engine oil changes, transmission oil, brake
and clutch bleed, pollen filter, engine filter, and driver’s door latch. Records are available for services, the
car is exceptional and needs nothing.
Conclusion: This Lotus Evora S is absolutely exceptional inside and out, with a rare color and upgraded exhaust
only adding to the desirability. Clean history and well documented, just exceptional. For serious shoppers
looking for a well-equipped and perfect condition Evora S, you won’t find one nicer. This exceptional car is
located in Wichita, KS, upon request a copy of the Carfax and over 150 high resolution photos will be provided. A
custom fitted Lotus car cover is also included. Thank you in advance for your interest, you will not be
disappointed.

Lotus F1 apologizes for tweeting support for LGBT Olympians
Mon, 10 Feb 2014The Lotus Formula One Team is apologizing after its official Twitter account posted this image of two men kissing in connection to the opening of the Winter Olympics on Friday, February 7. It claims that the original tweet was "unauthorized."
The tweet, which Lotus deleted later that day, can be viewed to the right and was promptly replaced an apology that said, "We would like to sincerely apologise for an unauthorized message posted on our Twitter account today & will ensure this cannot happen again." Responses to the kerfuffle on its Twitter page have mostly focused on confusion as to what the original tweet was and why it was removed.
While the Sochi Olympics have been controversial among LBGT groups because of Russia's laws banning so-called "gay propaganda," the country has a growing importance in F1. In fact, the first Russian Grand Prix is scheduled to run later this season on a circuit around the Sochi Olympic Park. Genii Capital, the team's owner, has business interests in Russia, and according to the BBC, the Lotus F1 team is working on a deal to with Russian mobile phone company Yotaphone to sell it 10 percent of the team.
Lotus Exige Sport 410 is just over 2,400 pounds of forbidden fruit
Sat, May 5 2018Few automakers short of Jeep love cranking out new variants of a current model like Lotus. Today, the storied British sports car manufacturer revealed the new Exige Sport 410, essentially a more comfortable and road-friendly version of the track-focused Exige Cup 430. This is a mid-engine coupe with 410 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque and a dry weight that's slightly more than an ND Mazda MX-5 Miata. Too bad it's not-for-U.S. consumption. Thanks to U.S. safety regulations, the Lotus Elise and Exige aren't available in America. Europeans will enjoy the Sport 410's supercharged 3.5-liter V6 and 0-60 mph sprint of just 3.3 seconds. The car's top speed is 180 mph. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Thanks to some sophisticated aero, the car can generate more than 330 pounds of downforce. Under the skin, the Sport 410 uses three-way adjustable Nitron dampers and adjustable Eibach front and rear anti-roll bars. Traction comes in the form of 285/30 ZR18 section rear and 215/45 ZR17 section front Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, some of the stickiest rubber available for road use. Forged-alloy wheels are available in either black or silver. The car uses four-piston AP Racing brakes with two-piece rotors. Options include titanium exhaust, carbon-fiber instrument surround, sill covers, barge boards and roof, electrical cutoff and fire extinguisher controls, airbag deletion, a non-airbag steering wheel, four-point harnesses, a full-leather interior, and a dealer-fitted FIA-compliant roll cage. Of course, with enough cash, Lotus will tailor the car to-taste through its Lotus Exclusive program. Related Video:
Banned Lotus 88 F1 car explained by Colin Chapman's son
Tue, Apr 5 2016Racing teams are always looking for ways to gain speed through creative interpretations of the rule book, but speed-obsessed engineers were a little too clever with the twin-chassis design for the Lotus 88 Formula One car. Colin Chapman's son, Clive, gave Goodwood the racer's fascinating story and why the organizers banned it. Lotus' innovation with the 88 was a novel twin-chassis layout. The outer chassis supported the aerodynamic elements and the body, and the inner one held the driver, engine, and transmission. The separate pieces allowed the car to meet the rules in the pits, but the outer chassis would create a seal with the track at speed to preserve the ground effect downforce. The organizers decided this ingenious solution went contrary to the rules against side skirts, and they banned the 88. However, this Lotus was important for a second reason. The inner chassis was F1's first carbon fiber monocoque. The lightweight material is common in racing and performance cars today, but it was a cutting-edge innovation for 1981.
