Well I hate to see her go.  This is a 1993 Lotus Esprit with the turbo 4 cylinder which I prefer over the v8.  This lotus is a rocket with that turbo which was rebuilt lat year. Excellent on gas milage plus power.   The car has 38k original miles with no accidents.  When I had purchased the car it had a momo hub and a Sparco steering wheel, I am 6' 3" and I have no problem fitting into this car.  But I added a nicer steering wheel to slide my legs in easier.

This car will come with the original set of wheels and tires( x180R) with plenty of rubber, plus the nicer ones in the photos with plenty of mileage left in excellent shape, along with original steering wheel and the sparco wheel.  The paint is in excellent condition except a small spot on the front front bumper (spider web cracking under the clear rock guard).  It come with a brand new Pioneer stereo system.  Has a brand new windshield and custom logo floor mats.  This is the perfect color combination Black with tan and black interior with the set of wheels and tires that sets this car off.  The a/c works, window, new brakes No flaws in paint except the one mentioned (not noticeable).  I have all of the records that will go with this car.  The wheels and tires on the car now have less than 5k on them. Also has the Lotus v8 upgrade shifter

I am leaving the country on business on the 11th of sept and will return on the 30th. So here is a chance to own a beautiful sports cars.  I have owned over 35 porsches and I still love the lotus.  But my girlfriend is moving in and I need the room before winter.  I own over 15 cars and this is the least of her favorites.  (I know why, It's a chick Magnet).  She does not like me driving it without her. LOL

NOTICE:
I would have taken to have the car completely detailed.  But I am not sure if the gas is bad or what.  It started right up but acts like it's not getting enough air to throttle up.  Due to my time not being able to address this I am offering this car at a steal.  You will not be disappointed, I have seen many lotus's and the fiberglass is crazed, chipped or the paint is faded and the interior is shot or the tires are bald etc...  This is not the case  This is a beautiful car.

A few things that this car had done. Replaced steering rack, New valve shims, Timing belt and tensioner, new fuel filter All new shocks, springs and 4 wheel aliment, New clutch, flywheel, pressure hose, t/o bearings, new fuel gauge and fuel module, rebuilt clutch slave cylinder, new windshield, new brakes.  I am sure theres more but cannot remember.

Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video

Mon, Dec 7 2015

With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.

Lotus Eletre opens a new front in electric SUVs

Tue, Mar 29 2022

Ladies and gentlemen, the new era of Lotus as an EV maker begins with this, the Eletre. It takes elements we've seen on the Evija battery-electric hypercar and Emira ICE sports car, wraps them in a larger package, jacks them up, and throws in a lot of new tech for the brand and the market. Let's start with size, which is the easy bit. The Eletre is 201 inches long on a 118.9-inch wheelbase, about 79 inches wide, and 64 inches high. Every one of those dimensions puts the Lotus within a couple of inches of the Aston Martin DBX: the EV being a little longer, with a slightly shorter wheelbase, a little wider, and a roof a couple of inches lower. For us, the side view most closely represents the form we had in mind based on recent spy shots. The front is intense, the yellow of the hero car making the greatest contrast with the polygonal void below. The lights above the leading edge are DRLs and turn signals, the main beams are recessed into that void, hugging the upper edge. The rear, with its Lotus script and full-width light bar fading into triangular intakes along the sides, clearly comes from the sports cars. It can glow in four colors depending on what it needs to communicate, and forms a connection with the light bar across the instrument panel. The SUV proportions and black roof are still playing tricks with our eyes, though; we can't help feeling the Eletre carries its bulk up high. The wheels are an optional set of 23-inchers that hide optional 10-piston (ten!) calipers gripping ceramic composite rotors. Lotus isn't ready to divulge specific battery capacity and motor outputs between those wheels. All we're told is the pack is more than 100 kWh and output starts at 600 horsepower. Every Eletre is all-wheel-drive, with a motor on each axle. The 800-volt electrical architecture can handle up to 350-kW fast-charging, 20 minutes at a station at that charge rate restoring 248 WLTP miles of the Eletre's estimated 373-mile range in WLTP testing. EPA numbers will come eventually. Lotus says the hauler will get to 62 miles per hour in under 3 seconds and hit a top speed of 161 mph. The electronic side mirror housings each contain three cameras, one camera for the rear views, one to help stitch a 360-degree overhead view, and one to help enable self-driving. The charge port is on the front left fender, but keen eyes might notice more shutlines atop the front wheel arches.

Lotus Elise Cup 260 celebrates the automaker's 70th anniversary

Fri, Oct 20 2017

Lotus rides the special edition train nearly as often as Jeep. When you only sell a few models, you need to make the most of what you have. Today, Lotus announced a new very-limited-edition variant, the Elise Cup 260. Just 30 examples will be built and, based on pricing, it doesn't look like it will be coming to America. Hey, the cars are likely all spoken for already. The Elise Cup 260 builds on the Cup 250 and takes influence from the Lotus Evora GT430 and Exige Cup 380. Lotus says this car is even lighter than the already pint-sized Cup 250. Downforce is the name of the game with the Cup 260. The car makes 397 pounds of downforce at 151 mph (44 percent better than the Cup 250), helping the car maneuver around a circuit with copious amounts of traction. The key components here are louvered front fenders, a carbon fiber front splitter and a carbon fiber rear wing that wouldn't look out of place on an FIA-spec GT car. All of the lightweight performance options from the Cup 250 are standard equipment on the Cup 260. The sill covers, roll hoop cover, front access panel and engine cover are all made of carbon fiber. It also uses a polycarbonate backlight glass to save more weight. The Cup 260 has two-piece rotors and two-way adjustable Nitron dampers at all four corners. Strangely, the Elise uses AP Racing calipers up front and a set of Brembo clamps out back. The Elise Cup 260 is powered by a supercharged 1.8-liter inline four making 250 horsepower and 188 pound feet of torque. In the right hands, the Lotus will hit 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Top speed is listed as 151 mph. Lotus' Hethel track is the true benchmark of any car to wear the green and yellow badge. On it, the Cup 260 is 2.5 seconds faster than the Cup 250. The exterior has been done up in gold and features a couple of wreaths meant to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Lotus' first car. The car comes standard with Alcantara upholstery, but if it were our money we'd spring for either the yellow or red Tartan trim pack. As befitting any Lotus, weight savings was first and foremost. Things like air conditioning, carpeting and sound deadening material are all optional extras. Pricing has only been announced for Europe, but the UK base price converts to roughly $77,800. Not cheap, but few if any cars provide the pure, unadulterated driving experience of a Lotus. Related Video:
