I am a confident seller. I purchased this vehicle at 15,000 miles. Based on questions I have already received thus far, the sticky tires, tow hooks, spoiler, and diffuser were installed for aesthetics. Most of its miles consisted of highway travel to and from work in the Austin area upon arriving mid-2013. No maintenance is needed at this time outside of its next oil change. The last was completed at 23,800 miles and will need to be changed again around the 27,000 mile mark. If you are interested, I also have a pair of ramps purchased at Harbor Freight Tools should you not have a pair. Also Included Upgraded CDE 143BT head unit; CD, MP3, USB, Bluetooth, AUX compatible Hardwire connection for most radar detectors The car is equipped with keyless entry and comes with two keys Custom-fit Heatshield windshield reflector OEM diffuser Available for Added Purchase Uninstalled pair of new 5.25” JL C2-525x speakers and needed adapter rings = $140 Valentine One radar locator and windshield mount = $300

Lotus bows out of Paris Motor Show

Mon, 16 Jul 2012

The plan put forth by former Lotus CEO Dany Bahar was to explode the British brand into the high-dollar sports car segment and directly challenge its marquee names. The first explosion came with the surprise introduction of five concepts at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. What has continued to surprise, though, is that the explosions haven't stopped: parent company Proton has had troubles leading to a reworking of its Formula One involvement, its IndyCar effort has had a rough ride, Proton's sale to Malaysian conglomerate DRB Hicom led to a production stoppage, and while the company was reassured that it wouldn't be sold, Bahar was shown the door - along with four of those Paris concepts, as far as we can tell. Yet the company is still making highly regarded cars and going racing.
So it shouldn't be all that surprising that, according to a report in Car and Driver, Lotus won't be attending this year's Paris Motor Show at all. Lotus didn't have much to show off at the Geneva Motor Show or the New York Show as all development was halted for two months, and the new corporate owner and new CEO installed by that owner are still working through the details of its niche English property. We will hope this is nothing more than a step in the reorganization, and look forward to seeing the Hethel firm again in Los Angeles or Detroit.

2024 Lotus Eletre First Drive Review: And now for something completely different ...

Mon, Jul 10 2023

OSLO, Norway It doesn’t get much more future-forward than the 2024 Lotus Eletre, a ginormous leap into electrification that looks, feels and drives like nothing before it. The Eletre’s all-new everything pushes into uncharted territory for Lotus: this is the brand’s first EV and SUV, entering a crowded market that is critical to the future of the 75-year-old British nameplate. No pressure Lotus, we’re here for it. First off, the design. As frivolous as it seems to address the subjectivity of looks, appearance matters with six-figure statement pieces. Despite the Eletre’s underpinnings being developed in Sweden and Germany, and the fact that it's built in China by majority stakeholder Geely, the design hails from the spot where the brand’s late, great founder Colin Chapman first set up shop: Hethel, England. The design is triggering for many, from the split front grille and bifurcated headlamps to the height of the midsection and the sweep of the tail. Now that the SUV field is utterly oversaturated, the Eletre’s looks are easily relatable to other more familiar vehicles. In person, there’s far more to the Eletre than the internet comments of “Hey, that just looks like (blank)” would suggest. Yes, certain bits feel derivative, particularly the nebulous headlamp zone. But there’s also inventiveness in the details, like the vented hood and creased door surfaces that summon a familiar design language as the Emira. Also distinctive is the wagon-like rear overhang and concave tail that’s accentuated with a long, uninterrupted LED lightstrip, a la Bugatti Chiron. Spec plays a big part in this large crossover’s looks. The launch color, Kaimu Grey, makes it come across as rather plain and unremarkable, while Galloway Green and the Solar Yellow pictured here taps into the brand heritage in a good way. Outfitted in splashier hues, Eletre stands out as an SUV that looks nimbler and more lithe than its dimensions suggest. At 16.7 feet in length and 7 feet wide (measured with the conventional mirrors we’ll get in the States), Eletre is no skinny Minnie. It’s 6.8 inches longer than a Cayenne, 5.1 inches lengthier than a Purosangue and 2.5 inches greater than a DBX. It’s 0.4 inch shorter than an Urus, but is 2 inches wider. Inside, the feeling is spacious, with decent leg, shoulder and head room.

Last Lotus Elise delivered to the person it was named after

Fri, Feb 25 2022

Lotus just made an announcement on its social media channels that the last customer-bound Elise has been built we'll note that Lotus built the very last Elise for itself — and delivered to its final customer, Elisa Artioli. If you haven’t heard of her before, it’s time for a little Lotus history lesson. Back when the Elise came to fruition and was released in 1996, Romano Artioli was the company’s chairman. When it came time to finalize a name for the two-seat sports car, Romano looked to his granddaughter, Elisa, for inspiration.  For those who find full-circle stories satisfying, it’s hard to get any better than this one. The Elise you’re looking at here is the final customer-bound Elise in the world, and it’s going to none other than the woman who the car is named after. This content is hosted by a third party. As for the spec of the car itself, this is an Elise Sport 240, and it’s painted in “Championship Gold.” The Sport 240 features a 1.8-liter supercharged four-cylinder that’s good for 240 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Weighing only 2,033 pounds, it’s capable of a 4.1-second 0-60 mph sprint and has a top speed of 147 mph. What a lovely story! We’ve asked Lotus for more photos and additional information, and we’ll update when we hear back.
