2006 Lotus Elise Coupe 2-door 1.8l on 2040-cars
Jersey City, New Jersey, United States
This is a beautiful white 2006 Lotus Else. This is the updated from the 2005 model include more comfortable ProBax seats for longer trips and an updated Clutch Cable.
I am selling it to buy a new Jeep Wrangler with more space. At 6500 RPM the cam kicks in and you feel like you are on a roller coaster. Do NOT drive this car unless you want to be noticed. It is probably the most conspicuous car ever made! Most people assume it is a Ferrari. It comes with a black convertible top and lightweight white hard Cover top -- good for the winter time. The lotus dealer did an odometer reset at 62,000 miles. I purchased it with 4,000 miles on it (66,000) and put approximately 21,000 miles on the car in the last two years using the car as a daily driver in the NYC metro area. I have never driven this Lotus on track, though it begs to be driven on the track. It has had Yokohama S Drive tires and currently has Continental DWS Extreme tires. It has interior rubber mats which don't get ruined like carpets The entire Front Clam Shell was replaced and repainted (A $12,000 job covered by Geico) after the very front bumper was cracked in a very minor front collision in January 2013. The repairs were made through an official Lotus Dealer. This car does not have a bumper, so bumping into someone while going 2mph parking can be an expensive fix. The shop where the rest of the repairs were made is C & S in Mamaroneck 914-698-2860. The official Lotus Dealer also maintained the car. Sports Car Specialists: 49 E Broad St, Hopewell, NJ 08525 (609) 466-5305. The front lights have also been recently replaced. I have replaced breaks, Rotors, Clutch Cable and have invested approximately 5,000 dollars in oil, fluid, valves and other maintenance over the last two years. I have all the receipts for this maintenance. At some point this Lotus will need a Catalytic converter, but it is not essential for now. About 5K is still owed to Wells Fargo on the car, so funds will have to be cleared before the Title can be transferred over. Also comes with two key fobs and a Cobra Alarm system that will deter anybody as it is the loudest alarm I've ever heard. The car begs to be driven hard. Please let me know if you have any questions. |

Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video
Mon, Dec 7 2015With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.
Lotus announces Exige V6 Cup racer
Mon, 20 Aug 2012The Lotus Exige is once of the most focused race cars that you can purchase on the market today, but for those individuals who desire to track the mid-engined racer, Lotus has released its latest no-frills, all-go racecar: the Exige V6 Cup.
The Exige Cup features a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 making 346 horsepower, enabling the 2,380-pound race car to get from zero to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Power is put to the road with the help of Lotus Dynamic Performance Management, which allows for Touring, Sport and Race settings for the engine.
The Exige V6 Cup also features revised aerodynamics in the front fascia and rear diffuser, and it rides on a fully adjustable suspension that reaches the road with special wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tires.
Lotus bankruptcy case dismissed in UK
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Times have not been easy for Lotus lately, so when its name came up on a list of companies scheduled for a liquidation court, it seemed like the end could be near for the fabled British builder of lightweight sports cars. As it turns out, Lotus was on the Companies Court Winding Up list in the UK due to a contractual dispute with a supplier, and the High Court has since dismissed the case.
According to Autocar, Lotus and the supplier actually resolved their issue earlier in the year, but the process couldn't be stopped until seen by a judge. The report says that the case was initiated when Group Lotus failed to pay some of its debts, which is probably a fair indication that Lotus is far from out of the weeds in regards to its financial difficulties.
