2005 Lotus Elise Sport And Touring Package *leather, Power Windows, Track Ready* on 2040-cars
Omaha, Nebraska, United States
This has been a great car to me. Minor maintinence, sounds great, always attracts attention, and makes me smile everytime I drive it. I really just don't fit in it very well (I am 6'6"), and don't get to drive it that often. I would love to keep it, but its just not the right car for me. The car runs and drives great! What you see in most of the pictures is its current condition. The picture with front end damage is how I received the car. What you see in the pictures is what you get. The car has not changed at all from when these pictures were taken. I did include the pictures of when I originally purchased the car to give you idea of what the damage looked liked. Like new Toyo Proxes R888s. Instead of the original tire size, I went with wider 255/40/R17 tires in the rear for more grip and an overall more stable rear end, and the original 195/50/R16 on the front. Great Tires! Sector 111 Upgraded Radiator. The car runs and maintains about 185 degrees during the summer or winter. Sector 111 Tall Rails. I am 6' 6" so I also installed this seat lowering kit that lowers the drivers seat about an inch, and I will include the original seat rails. When I purchased the car, It came with a beautiful set of LED Tail Lights. The center console, around the shifter, is normally a grey plastic cover but now has a black leather cover that matches the rest of the interior. The muffler is currently off the car and a redirect pipe points the exhaust down out the original exhaust hole. This reduces weight, and in my opinion it sound great (my other lotus friends did the same thing after hearing mine) but I can include the factory muffler with the car when purchased. Other than that, the car is completely stock Call, text or email me with questions 402-301-8888, Garrettmitchell121@gmail.com |

The Lotus 3-Eleven 430 is the fastest street-legal Lotus built
Tue, Feb 20 2018You're looking at the fastest street-legal Lotus ever built. Weighing in at 2,028 pounds, the new Lotus 3-Eleven 430 can hit 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and continue all the way to 180 mph. It's a fitting tribute for 40 years of Lotus cars. As expected, the "430" in its name refers to its power output. There's no four-banger screamer in the 3-Eleven 430: The supercharged, Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter, 24-valve V6 produces 430 hp and 324.5 lb-ft. of torque. There's a lightweight carbon-composite body on an extruded-bonded aluminum chassis, and the carbon side panels are partially exposed for that cool carbon look. You also get variable, six-position traction control, with five levels ranging from 1 percent slip to 12 percent slip to off. Lateral acceleration while cornering is a respectable 1.5 g. At the Hethel test track, the new 3-Eleven 430 has reportedly beaten previous Lotus efforts. With a lap time of 1:24, it's 0.8 seconds quicker than an Exige Cup 430, and it also completely obliterates the previous, 2015 3-Eleven by shaving off 2 whole seconds. Only 20 units will be built, so few people will get to experience the 430 at maximum attack. Lotus has priced the 3-Eleven 430 at GBP102,000 on the road in the UK, which corresponds to $142,525. Lotus to move immediately forward with new variants rather than new models
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It took 1.5 years, but a DRB-Hicom managing director told Malaysia's Business Times that the company has "cleaned up" the situation at Lotus from its finances to its marketing and image. The clean-up job we're most interested in, the product portfolio, will be demonstrated by financial investment in a three-year program of "variants based on existing products - variants with improved technology, improved performance."
You'll notice mention of the word "variants" three times but no mention of the phrase "new models." We knew that with the death of the five-new-model turnaround plan dreamed up by ex-Lotus CEO Dany Bahar DRB-Hicom said there'd only be three distinct lines - which is the current number - but during Lotus' trouble-plagued 2012 it sold just 80 cars all year, and for a tense spell it really wasn't clear if DRB-Hicom would commit to even keeping Lotus alive, much less investing in it.
It's not clear how much is being put into in the three-year program of offshoot models like the 345-horsepower Exige S Roadster (pictured), but it might be fair to say this is where Lotus' revival really begins, and does so with baby steps. Autocar reports that DRB-Hicom has already put 100 million pounds into the English carmaker, and as its issues were worked through Lotus has sold almost as many cars in the first five months of this year as it did all of last. That has not only convinced the Malaysian minders to throw more money its way, but the UK's business secretary has also approved a 10-million-pound investment into Lotus through the Regional Growth Facility program.
Lotus renames Russell Carr its head of design
Wed, 22 Oct 2014There's been a changing of the guard at Lotus recently. The legendary British sports car manufacturer fired its controversial chief executive Dany Bahar and replaced him recently with Jean-Marc Gales. And now it's named a new chief designer. Or rather, renamed its old one to the post.
That designer is the appropriately named Russell Carr, who had previously held the post until Bahar brought in his former compatriot Donato Coco (with whom he had previously served at Ferrari) and charged him with designing a series of ambitious but ill-fated concept cars that debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and were subsequently axed on Bahar's way out. Now Coco has been shown the door as well, effective at the end of this month. In his place, Carr - who has been with Lotus since 1990 - has been given back his old job after having been demoted to playing second fiddle to Coco for five years.
Although both Gales and Coco both served in senior positions at PSA Peugeot Citroën, Gales didn't join the French automaker until 2009 - the same year that Coco joined Lotus, five years after having left PSA to work at Ferrari.
