If CarFax is what you use to buy a car There is no reason to read further.
2005 Elise for sale with a checkered distant past. This was a FLorida Lemon buy back in 2005. I bought the car in 2007 from the second private owner. At that time there was no listing on Car Fax about it being a FLorida Lemon law buy back. That information was added long after I bought it. It has two accidents listed on CarFax. It was stolen for a day and driven into a small tree requiring repair of the front clam. The second owner was hit from behind at a stop light and pushed into the car in front causing both front and rear clamshells to be replaced. That owner sent me pictures of the damage before I bought the car and it was fiberglass damage only. After I bought it I had it examined by a Lotus dealer and there was NO subframe damage OR repair evident. Everything was in alignment and within specifications.

I have owned and driven this car since 2007 and have driven it many trouble free miles.

I have installed a Sector 111 Brake Noir kit with braided lines about 1000 miles ago.. I have tracked this car 3 times since I have owned it, using slicks mounted on a spare set of wheels. I'm too old to race any more buy I enjoy going on a track once in a while.

It is not a garage queen and has many rock chips around in side scoops and parking lot entry damage under the nose. ( It lacks the Lamborghini feature of suspension raising to enter parking lots.). I spare no expense on the mechanical upkeep of my cars and this one is no excpetion. It has had its fluids changed regularly including Bake fluid ( Motul Racing fluid), Oil ( Castrol Syntec) , Coolant ( Dexcool) and Castrol Gearbox lube change at 30K miles. Tires are Goodyear GS-D3's with at least a year left on them. The heater motor control upgrade was done as was the factory recall for the Oil cooler line and ECU reflash.

If the price goes high enough I will include a hardtop with a British flag decal covering it at no additional cost. I will decide if it sells at a price adequate to include the top,

I have owned this car for the vast majority of it's existence and have enjoyed it like no other car I have owned including the Caterham it replaced.

I WILL NOT accept bids form outside the US.... And yes NIGERIA and the RUSSIAN FEDERATION are outside the US.

There is NO warranty, expressed or implied.

Lotus said to be planning new sedan, crossover [w/poll]

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Lotus has been in limbo in recent years. After former CEO Dany Bahar revealed his plans to build six new models, its parent company was sold, Bahar was sacked, his plans were canceled and a new CEO was hired in the form of former Peugeot chief Jean-Marc Gales. The industry has been waiting ever since to find out what Gales would do with the storied marque, and now we seem to have some indication.
Reports coming in from Malaysia indicate that Jean-Marc presented to the board of parent company Proton a plan for Lotus to build a new sedan and crossover. Though details are scarce, and may seem downright blasphemous for an automaker that built is reputation on lightweight sports cars, it would not be the first time that the House that Colin Built has toyed with either idea.
The company presented the APX crossover concept at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, and the Eterne sedan concept as part of Bahar's far-reaching plans at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The new plans may use these concepts as starting points or could go another direction entirely.

Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video

Mon, Dec 7 2015

With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.

The black and gold Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition is heading to America

Thu, Apr 6 2017

Few race teams have such deeply iconic liveries as Team Lotus. From the Gold Leaf cars from the late 1960s to the bright yellow Camel cars that lasted until the early 1990s, arguably none is more iconic than the John Player Special cars that brought world championships to Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti. Now that same sleek black and gold paint scheme can be had on the new Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition. Even better, it's heading to America. While the GP Edition isn't anything more than a special paint scheme, what a wonderful design it is. The livery is based on the John Player Special Team Lotus cars that competed in Formula One between 1972 and 1986. The black paint is accented with gold stripes along the hood, fenders, doors, and rocker panel. Gold Evora Sport 410 logos adorn the rear while a "Word Champions" emblem flanks the engine cover. The Evora Sport 410 is the lighter, faster version of the thoroughly reworked Evora 400 that we drove last year. Lotus says it's the fastest road car the automaker has ever built. It hits 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 190 mph. They US version has been specially curated by Lotus engineers in order to be both light and meet federal crash test standards. Unfortunately, Lotus is only building 150 total each year for worldwide markets. Related Video:
