2007 LOTUS EXIGE S - POLAR BLUE / BLACK - 15K MILES!!

4 CYLINDER 1.8 L 220 HP

What a rare and beautiful Exige S!  There were not many Lotus made in Polar Blue but very few in an Exige.  In 2007 there were only a bit over 100 Exige S brought unto the US in general so there are not many of these out there.  In 2006 they first announced the Exige and it came out with the standard 190 HP engine that comes in the Elise.  In 2007 they added the supercharger to that set up and it produced 220 HP and an a high revving engine that gets 80% torque by 2500 RPM.  Unlike the standard 1.8 L engine you need begine to reach max torque or HP numbers until well after 6000 RPM when the second cam opens.  With the supercharger you do not have to wait, the power is delivered immediately!!

Beyond the power difference the Exige also offers 100 Lbs of downforce at the rear end at 100 MPH, compared to the Elise at 10 Lbs at 100 MPH.  This is due to the added front splitter, rear wing and standard hard top.  The hard top also comes with a functional roof scoop compared to the 06 Exige version.  The Exige also came standard with what the Elise considered a Sport Pack.  Lighter wheels, more aggressive tires and ride height adjustable suspension.  This specific Exige also came equipped with the optional Track Pac which gives fully adjustable dampers, adjustable front stabilizer bar, and harness belt bar inside vehicle.  This makes this Exige ready to go for track day weekends!!

This is a car that is very enjoyable to drive on the streets but is not considered your typical everyday practical car.  It is a utility knife truly designed to go out on the race track but suttle enough enjoy on the streets.  It is quick and precise and reads your thoughts via telepathy before your hands even move to tell it what to do.  it is a drivers car that is fully engaged to the road and gives the driver every sense of what is happening.  There is no other car like it on the road!  There have been a few comparisons made but everything falls short of its light weight, nible design that looks fast just standing still.  If you are looking for the ultimate toy that does 0-60 in 4.0 Secs and looks like nothing else on the road and handles like a go-kart, you have found your match!!

Here Are Some Comfront Features:  AC, Alloy trim on the dash, Alloy trim on center console, Alloy trim on the shift knob, Leather steering wheel, Floor mats, Alpine premium brand stereo with AM/FM in-dash single CD player

Here Are Some Options On This Great Looking Exige:

Lotus suing former CEO Bahar over spending on homes, helicopters and watches

Mon, 03 Dec 2012

More details have come out about the legal suit and countersuit being contested between Lotus cars owner DRB-Hicom and former CEO of Lotus Dany Bahar. Bahar was brought in by Malaysian car company Proton in 2009 to turn Lotus around, and events during his tenure have made just about everyone wonder "What's going on?" That's not unusual - it can take a minute to figure things out when a new leader takes everything in a new direction - but in this case the clouds didn't clear quickly enough.
When the Malaysian government sold Proton to Malaysian auto supplier DRB-Hicom earlier this year, a forensic accounting team from Ernst & Young and The Rothschild Group started going over the books. Not long after, Bahar was suspended in June from his position and then fired. In his countersuit against DRB-Hicom, claims of lavish spending began to surface. Then the stories and leaks and rumors really began, the UK's Financial Mail reporting on more than one million pounds spent on private flights and home renovations, the New Zealand Herald talking about other executives sacked so that DRB could rearrange a 270-million-pound bank loan to Lotus, and rumors on forums about Bahar flying from his home in Norfolk to Hethel HQ and spending 30,000 pounds on motorsports books for his office.
In the latest Bloomberg report it is said that DRB-Hicom seeks 2.5 million pounds ($4 million US) from Bahar "for unauthorized expenses and overpaid salary and bonuses," including the purported expense of 3,000 pounds on watches for company managers. DRB-Hicom also says Bahar made damaging statements to the media, on top of breaching his contractual duties. Bahar's countersuit seeks $10.6 million from DRB-Hicom.

Lotus Evija's wild aero setup is detailed by chief aerodynamicist

Tue, May 12 2020

The Lotus Evija is a car of firsts for Lotus. To that end, the company has spent a lot of time talking over the details. Today, we get to learn about the wild shape’s aerodynamics and what Lotus engineers were trying to accomplish. Richard Hill, chief aerodynamicist for Lotus takes a dive into all the details, and the video at the top of this post offers a great visual. “Most cars have to punch a hole in the air, to get through using brute force, but the Evija is unique because of its porosity,” Hill says. “The car literally ‘breathesÂ’ the air. The front acts like a mouth; it ingests the air, sucks every kilogram of value from it – in this case, the downforce – then exhales it through that dramatic rear end.” We can see what Hill means as we look at the Evija in photos. Instead of a regular front bumper, this one has pass-throughs that direct the air back into the side of the car. Lotus hasnÂ’t released the all-important coefficient of drag figure yet, but we have to imagine itÂ’s very low. The front splitter (below, left) is responsible for a few different things. The opening in the center takes in air to cool the battery pack that is mounted behind the seats. Then, the outer section of the splitter channels the air to the “e-axle” for cooling of the electrical components. And finally, it also produces downforce.  There are a couple more tunnels for air to pass through in the rear. These “holes” are likely the most distinctive design feature, especially when accentuated with the LED taillights. Hill says that these are also fully functional and help to reduce drag. “They feed the wake rearward to help cut drag,” Hill says. “Think of it this way; without them the Evija would be like a parachute but with them itÂ’s a butterfly net, and they make the car unique in the hypercar world.” On top of all these porous body structures, there are pieces that move. The rear wing can elevate upward from its flush body position and deploy into clean air above, creating more downforce. And then thereÂ’s an F1-style drag reduction system. This uses a horizontal plane that deploys from the car to make it slipperier through air. The final big piece of this puzzle is the underbody sculpting that directs air into the massive rear diffuser. This causes an upwash of air, in turn creating a massive amount of downforce. Hill sums it up quite nicely.

Lotus readying Evora crossover?!

Fri, Dec 19 2014

If it seems to you like every sports car manufacturer is getting into the crossover game, that's because it's pretty much true. And now, we potentially have one more to add to the list, as Britain's Car magazine reports that Lotus – yes, Lotus – is proceeding with plans to build a crossover. Rather than build a new crossover from the ground up, however, Lotus is said to be developing a high-riding version of the existing Evora. It's tipped to keep its rear-drive configuration (rather than going with a proper all-wheel-drive system), with a raised ride height and more rugged styling. In that respect, it may emerge more like a Local Motors Rally Fighter than a Porsche Cayenne challenger. That may yet emerge as not such a bad thing as it may seem on the surface, but for those purists who'd balk at the notion of an off-road Lotus, the British automaker has other plans in store as well. The crossover would arrive on the heels of a refreshed version of the existing Evora, a potential convertible version of the same, and a hardcore, track-focused successor to the 2-Eleven is also said to be in the works. In the end, Lotus would only be the latest in a long string of established sports car makers to get into the crossover game. Porsche of course led the way with the Cayenne and followed up with the Macan, Maserati is set to follow suit, and last we heard, Lamborghini was still awaiting approval to build the Urus concept.
