1974 Lotus Europa Special with Big Valve Twin Cam engine and 4 speed transmission.
The car is complete and working, but I haven't used it for about a year and it needs some refreshing and a lot of
cosmetics. The battery is dead, but the car can be jump started.
The odometer shows 95k miles, the engine is healthy, showed good oil pressure. It has a tubular header instead of
the cast iron manifold, the original manifold is available. The preheating tubes were deleted.
The chassis is in good condition, was covered with a thick coat of red oxide paint and still holding up nicely.
Suspension bushes are ok, no play. Rear axle bearings and u-joints are good.
Transmission shifts smoothly- compared to an Europa- the bushes were replaced with polyurethane.
The carburetors were rebuilt about 2 years ago, starter was replaced about a year ago, brakes were upgraded: the
boosters were deleted and a dual circuit Triumph master cylinder was installed with proportioning valve. ( The
original boosters are available if the buyer wants them. ) Shocks are upgraded to adjustable GAZ coilovers with
slightly stiffer springs. A set of Koni and Spax shocks and the original springs are included too.
The car body was started being prepped for a repaint, but never finished. The paint otherwise is still the
original. The badges that were removed are included.
Interior is complete but worn.
Tachometer is not working and side indicators sometimes are acting funny. Thermostat circuit was deleted and has a
switch for the cooling fan in the interior.

Lotus and Proton might be sold to Peugeot-Citroen after Geely bails
Wed, Mar 22 2017Despite some strong initial interest, Chinese automaker Geely changed its mind about purchasing a controlling stake in Proton, parent company of Lotus Cars. This leaves Groupe PSA, owner of Peugeot, Citroen, and now Opel, as the sole remaining interested party. This is mixed news for Proton, as Geely's hands-off, cash-flush approach may have helped Lotus. On the other hand, it isn't like Groupe PSA is bordering on bankruptcy. According to Malaysian automotive news site Paultan.org, the reasons behind Geely's change of heart are unclear. In fact, it may seem that the indecision about the deal may have been coming more from Proton, not Geely. Reports say that Proton's parent company, Malaysian manufacturer DRB-Hicom, was uneasy about the potential partnership. DRB-Hicom assembles cars for a number of automakers, including Honda, Isuzu, and Suzuki. A deal with Groupe PSA would give the French automaker access to both DRB-Hicom's facilities and an expanded foothold in Southeast Asia. Lotus Exige S Roadster coming this summer to a circuit near you
Wed, 01 May 2013We haven't heard much about the Lotus Exige S Roadster since we first saw it at the Geneva Motor Show last year, but Lotus is now confirming the car will go on sale this summer. Of course, unless anything has changed since the car was introduced, Lotus' "ultimate roadster" will still not be coming to the US.
Lotus has released a new video showing its 345-horsepower roadster in action, and while it doesn't even show that much of the car, you can check out our live images of the Exige S Roadster in our gallery. The video, which looks like a knockoff of a Universal Studios movie trailer, is posted below.
Lotus hands Pastor Maldonado a new Evora S in Monaco
Sat, 31 May 2014Being a Formula One driver has its privileges. First off, you get to drive F1 cars for a living. You get treated like royalty and fly around the world. And if you're lucky, you might get a supercar thrown at you once in a while. It all depends on which team you drive for.
Fernando Alonso, for example, has had countless Ferraris, Maseratis, Abarths and Jeeps thrown his way. Lewis Hamilton was a little disappointed not to get the keys to that rare McLaren F1 LM when he won the championship. But Pastor Maldonado just got his hands on a new Lotus Evora S.
Pastor who now, you ask? Pastor Maldonado. The first Venezuelan driver in F1, Maldonado won the GP2 title in 2010 then made the jump to F1, driving for Williams for the past three seasons, impressively winning the Spanish Grand Prix in 2012. Now he's at Lotus filling Kimi Raikkonen's seat, and took delivery of his white Evora - complete with 3.5-liter supercharged V6 and six-speed sequential gearbox - in Monte Carlo last weekend during the Monaco Grand Prix.
