This is not your average Ebay Esprit. Selling my beautiful 1994 Lotus Esprit S4, in stunning Monaco White with Tan leather interior, 42000 miles. Original paint, interior, clean, Autocheck and Carfax history. Service records, books, and all tools are present. Original key with leather keyfob.I recently had the exhaust upgraded to a dual tip as on the later V8's and it just sounds amazing. I will try and get some videos and add them to the listing. Overall it appears to have always been garaged, the only wear is on the driver's seat (see photo) and there are a couple of scratches on the body with one touch up on the rear bumper. Originally a Florida car and then to Ohio and Virginia and now in Georgia. Car runs and drives very well, engine performs as it should, runs strong, clutch and transmission and gearbox are all fine and all synchros are fine as well. Transmission shifts through all the gears perfectly. Turbo provides a sudden burst of speed when it is engaged. It is faster than my Ferrari that I just bought to replace it. Brakes are perfect, tires are 90% full tread, no leaks, no smoke, no strange engine noises. All dash gauges work, air conditioning works, windows work up and down with no problem, radio works, antenna goes up and down when radio comes on, all lights work, turn signals and stop lights etc. Carpets are clean, car still smells new (well, it smells like leather!), non-smoker car. All glass is clean with no chips or cracks. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere in the country and back. This is a very reliable exotic that will give you 27 MPG and a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds. Incredible performance to say the least. You can enter the exotic world for the price of a Toyota. This car is a serious looker and gets looks everywhere I take it. Feel free to call with any questions, I have owned 5 Esprits and I am a member of the Lotus club as well. (678) 230-7439. I have the clean title in my hands. Please no offers, this is a steal for what you are getting, this car is fully serviced and needs absolutely nothing, not even an oil change. No trades, I have enough cars, hence this one has to go. I still drive it daily if the weather allows me to so the miles will change from this listing. I recommend the buyer to fly in and drive home, I am 25 minutes from the Savannah airport. I have sold many of my exotic cars on Ebay without any issues, so bid with confidence. If this car is not as described upon pick up, I will refund your deposit. I can also help arrange for transport worldwide.

Lotus Evora roadster to follow 400 coupe to US market
Mon, Jul 13 2015Lotus is in the midst of resurgence, and that includes a renewed assault on the US market. The new Evora 400 is coming to America, and though the new 3-Eleven won't be certified to drive on American roads, the company has confirmed that it will be offered here for use on track. But that's not all. According to Automotive News, Lotus is preparing to follow up on the aforementioned Evora 400 coupe with an additional roadster variant. Instead of a folding roof mechanism, the open-top Evora will incorporate two carbon-fiber roof panels able to stow behind the front seats. Otherwise it's expected to be mechanically identical to the coupe, with a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 packing 400 horsepower and a series of other enhancements over the preceding Evora S. Lotus was forced to withdraw the Evora – the last model it offered in the US – from the American market last year after it no longer complied with federal regulations. Bringing the new Evora 400, and its upcoming roadster variant, to the US will necessitate fitting it with a new smart airbag – something which Lotus confirmed to Autoblog it is preparing to do. According to spokesman Alastair Florance, "the Evora 400 will arrive in the market as a 17MY and will be fully compliant with FMVSS 208, including the smart air bag element." The coupe is expected to arrive here in December, with the yet-to-be-unveiled roadster to follow six months later. The news confirms what we heard earlier about the company's future plans. Those also include a new SUV being designed principally for the Chinese market, and an even more radical 4-Eleven to follow at some point in the future. Related Video:
This is how ground effects work in a nutshell
Wed, Mar 30 2016There are two ways to generate downforce. One is with all manner of wings and spoilers on the surface of the vehicle. The other is with ground effects. One you can clearly see, the other remains something of a hidden mystery. Fortunately, the good folks at Lotus and Goodwood are here to dumb it down for us non-engineer types. It's called Bernoulli's Principle, named after Swiss physicist Daniel Bernoulli who literally wrote the book on the subject way back in the 1700s. Countless engineers have spent their careers focused on its study and application, but the crux of the matter is that, as the speed of air (or other "fluid") increases, pressure decreases. Play with the air's increasing speed and decreasing pressure just right and you can generate downforce underneath the body of a car without significantly increasing drag as you would with surface spoilers. For evidence of how Bernoulli's Principle applies in practical terms, just look at the last Ferrari to pack a turbocharged V8 in the middle and the latest one. The F40 had a giant wing on the back, where the 488 GTB has none. But because the 488 uses underbody aerodynamics (or "ground effects"), it generates significantly more downforce than the winged F40 ever could, and at lower speeds. Ferrari, however, was not the first outfit to harness the power of ground effects. Lotus did with the legendary 79 that Mario Andretti drove to the world championship back in 1978. That was the genius of Colin Chapman, and to explain how it all works in layman's terms, our friends over at Goodwood Road & Racing brought in Colin's son Clive Chapman, head of Classic Team Lotus, to put together the video above. Lotus Type 132 electric SUV gets another teaser
Mon, Nov 8 2021Back in August, Lotus laid out its product plans for the next few years. One of the most significant ones, and soonest to launch, is the Type 132, an electric SUV. A muddy silhouette was all we got with the product announcement, but now we get an up-close look at the SUV. Unfortunately, this look is so close up that all we can see is the lower grille section. It's not a bad looking grille section, with divvied-up hexagonal openings. They even have active shutters that adjust for cooling or aerodynamics. But of course, there's not much else we can tell. The Type 132 is slated to launch next year, so we won't have long to wait. It's one of four electric Lotus models that will launch in the next few years, not including the Evija supercar.
