1983 Lotus Turbo Esprit S2.2 Guigiaro Series

Fancy Cat Sports Cars LLC, are very pleased to offer for sale a beautiful all # matching, all original European Sports Car, the iconic Lotus Turbo Esprit

Having shot to fame after featuring in the James Bond Film " The Spy Who Loved Me ", it became and instant success, and proportionally it was perfect. Italdesign's Chief Stylist, Giorgetto Giugiaro, created the exotic cutting -edge beauty which Fancy Cat Sports Cars LLC, are offering for sale here.

Our Lotus is wrapped in Ice Metallic Blue paint which was one of the more eye catching colors of the period, and is absolutely stunning in it's Mint Condition. The Original Blue Leather Interior appears brand new.

This car has matching numbers and only 5826 documented miles since it left the Lotus Factory in Norfolk, England. Imported into the United States at the time of sale and one of only a few models made in left hand drive for the American Roads, this car looks as good as the day it left the factory.  Everything is totally original, down to the BBS alloy wheels to the original Spare tire which is unused and still has the Lotus label attached.  The Lotus is in Number 1 condition, and is certainly one of, if not the best 1983 Lotus Esprit Turbo being offered for sale in the world today. With a clean Carfax and documented mileage history, it is indeed very desirable collector car.

The Lotus is being offered for sale with the original Lotus Factory Purchase Window Sticker, Workshop Manual, Original Unused Tool Roll, Lotus Original Color Chart, and 2 Sets of Keys.

Lotus settles with ex-CEO Dany Bahar, avoids London High Court

Sun, 25 May 2014

Five years after it began, it appears the Dany Bahar tenure at Lotus is finally over. After former Lotus owner Proton brought in the ex-Ferrari and Red Bull marketing savant to run the company in 2009, everything had gone pear-shaped by 2012: Proton had been sold to Malaysian auto supplier DRB-Hicom, who suspended Bahar and then fired him for what it said were expense-account transgressions (although Bob Lutz reportedly said something different).
The separation led to the expected suit and countersuit, Lotus going after Bahar to get its money back, Bahar filing a $10.6-million suit againt Lotus for wrongful termination and potential bonus money. The case was set to go to trial next month but both parties have settled, the terms undisclosed, a DRB-Hicom statement saying only that "the parties involved in the legal suit have signed a Settlement Agreement and Release... and have agreed to withdraw their claims against each other."
Now that that bit of housecleaning is all cleared up, can new CEO Jean-Marc Gales please get our Esprit?

Lotus C-01 motorcycle rumored to get 200-hp V-twin engine

Sun, 12 Jan 2014

Back in June, Lotus announced it was getting into the motorcycle business. Or, we should say, Kodewa and the Holzer Group are getting into the motorcycle business, and have acquired the rights to use the Lotus name. One way or another, we're now receiving word on some of the specs we can expect from the prototype dubbed C-01.
The Lotus motorcycle is being designed by Daniel Simon, the automotive futurist who has penned, among other things, the light-cycles for Tron: Legacy and the livery on the LMP2 racer Kodewa also fields under the Lotus name. So you know it's going to look pretty awesome, but what will make it go?
According to Visor Down, the C-01 is being tested with a V-twin engine sourced from an undisclosed supplier that produces 170 horsepower in stock trim but has been tuned to produce nearly 200 hp in Lotus trim. A pair of prototypes - one with carbon-fiber bodywork and one without - have already undergone several thousand kilometers of testing, and are said to be handling "very well."

Lotus Elise returning to US in 2020

Mon, Aug 3 2015

If you've been hoping to get your hands on a new Lotus Elise, we've got mixed news for you. The good news is that Lotus will bring the Elise back to the US market. The bad news is that it won't happen before 2020. Lotus was forced to withdraw the model (along with the Exige) from the US market in 2011 after it no longer complied with US safety regulations and its temporary exemptions expired. Lotus first launched the Elise in 1996 when the company was still owned by former Bugatti chief Romano Artioli. It rolled out the current Series 2 model in 2001, and brought it to America for the first time in 2004. The larger Evora faced similar issues, and was modified in the form of the new Evora 400 that now meets US regulations. Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales tells Automotive News that doing the same with the Elise would be unfeasible. "We'd need smart airbags, plus side airbags and to change the whole front crash structure. It would add 100kg," or 220 pounds, said Gales. While modifying the current Elise would be prohibitive, the next version is being designed to meet American standards. That won't happen before 2020. In the meantime, Lotus continues to sell a small number of certain variants of the Elise and Exige for use exclusively on tracks.
