2001 Lincoln Town Car Executive Series with only 71k original miles!!

- 1-Owner accident-free with only 71k original miles!! Free carfax report provided at the bottom of the auction including recent service.

- Please take your time. I've included a large number of high-definition pictures of the vehicle. The carfax report is at the very end. If you are not seeing it, you may not be seeing some of the other photographs as well; please refresh your browser and allow enough time for all of the pictures to load if this occurs.

- Mechanically, the Town Car runs and drives like you'd expect for a 71k mile 1-owner, well-maintained vehicle. Everything works great and the sedan really rides beautifully.

- Motor, transmission and drive train are perfect.

- 4.6L V8 runs perfectly. Great oil pressure, no heating issues. With only 71k miles, this vehicle isn't even close to being broken in. Plenty of power and amazing acceleration.

- Brakes, suspension and exhaust are all excellent.

- No engine warning lights of any kind.

- Everything on the car works and is in great condition.

- Executive Series package including chrome trim, alloy wheels, full leather interior, wood-grain interior package with full power (seats, mirrors, locks, windows, key-less entry), and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

- All power equipment functions perfectly.

- Factory Radio. Audio sounds great.

- Cruise Control functions perfectly and hands-free controls on the steering wheel make for easy highway driving.

- Exterior is excellent. Very straight. A few small key marks by the security keypad above the driver door keyhole and a penny sized blemish in the clear-coat on the left rear quarter panel. Hardly noticeable; overall the exterior is in very nice condition.

- Great color combination. Silver exterior with tan leather interior. The chrome trim and alloy wheels really complete everything. The Town Car really looks great in person and is a real head-turner. Some minor curb rash on the wheels as you can see in the pictures.

- Leather Interior with wood-grain trim like-wise is in nice condition. No stains or major tears in the carpets or leather seats. Headliner looks new, no stains or sagging. Wood-grain dash and trim look great; no cracking and shines beautifully. Some minor wrinkling in the rear seats, and a pin-size hole in the rear center armrest. Definitely does not detract from the overall well-kept condition of the vehicle.

- NON-SMOKER VEHICLE! NO ODORS OF ANY KIND.

- A/C blows cold and heat blows hot.

- With only 71k miles and having been so well-maintained mechanically, this Town Car is going to be enjoyed by the next owner for a very long time.

Ford is recalling more Takata airbag-equipped Ford and Lincoln models

Thu, Mar 2 2017

The Basics: Takata, the beleaguered airbag supplier at the root of the largest recall in automotive history, has informed Ford of a problem with the airbags in just over 30,000 Ford and Lincoln models. The problem is not related to the non-desiccated ammonium nitrate airbag inflators that plague the other airbags ( including many Fords), meaning there isn't a risk of shrapnel flying out from the units in this particular recall. The Problem: In the event of an accident, the front airbags may only partially inflate, and the airbag may become detached from the module because of misaligned parts. The problem affects 2016 and 2017 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models built at the Oakville Assembly Plant. The issue also affects 2017 Lincoln Continentals that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Injuries/Deaths: In a release, Ford stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths related to the airbag issue. The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag module at no cost. If You Own One: Sit tight and wait for Ford to notify owners. When that happens, take your car to the dealer for a replacement. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Ex-GM VP LaNeve takes over Lincoln ad agency

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Those of you that caught yesterday's op-ed about Lincoln will have heard already, but Mark LaNeve has taken the helm at Team Detroit. Once the North American vice president of sales, service and marketing for General Motors, LaNeve will now head up the agency that handles all of Ford advertising. LaNeve will also run the account for Lincoln. While at GM from 2001 to 2009, the exec oversaw ad campaigns like Cadillac's Breakthrough and sales initiatives like "Employee Pricing for Everyone."
He left in 2009 to join Allstate as chief marketing officer, oversaw the creation of the Mayhem ad spots and was moved into the role of VP of agency operations overseeing Allstate's 10,000 agents. He resigned from the insurer in February 2012 for personal reasons and joined Team Detroit in August 2012 as chief operating officer, in charge of satellite offices in New York and internationally. He replaces ex-CEO Cameron McNaughton, and will continue to hold the title of COO.
Lincoln is trying to get its 2013 back to rights after putting big dollar commercials for the 2013 MKZ on television then having production glitches preventing cars from getting to dealerships. With rumors of a relaunch in the works, it's no surprise LaNeve has been given the reins - and from here it looks like the brand is desperate for the kind of magic he's proved he can marshal. Perhaps he can start by calling a mulligan on the renaming exercise that gave us the hoary "Lincoln Motor Company" and go back to oh, say, "Lincoln." Then he can ask the product folks to get to work on the MKC concept...
