MOVING SALE!!!  Less than TWO WEEKS!!!

We are downsizing our home and making a major move across the country and can not afford to transport a second vehicle.  I am the second owner of this Lincoln Towncar since I purchased it with 58,000 miles on it. I am almost grief stricken to sell it as they do not make this size model anymore.  This car is a Nice Ride!

BLUEBOOK VALUE (www.kbb.com) puts this vehicle at a GOOD VALUE of $3,417.  I have a much lower reserve because I need to sell this car quickly.

I have kept up the normal maintenance throughout my ownership (i.e. Oil changes every 3-5,000 miles; tires; wipers; lights; brakes; etc).

Recent maintenance repairs are the following:

New Front Headlights (July 2013)  One was filling up with moisture so I replaced both.

New Fuel Neck Filler Tube & New Fuel Cap - (July 2013)  Check Engine Light revealed a emission issue. "Smoke Test" performed for diagnosis

     New Alternator - May 2013

New Radiator Fan System (March 2013)

New Front, lower left ball joint replaced - (March 2013) Front end aligned

New Air Ride Spring/Bag Suspension replaced on all four wheel axles - Nov 2012

New Air Ride Suspension Compressor - May 2012

***Recently, the Check Engine light came on and through a certified mechanic, it was determined to be a fuel emissions leak.  Three 'smoked tests' have been performed to identify the leak and by recommendation, the fuel cap and fuel neck filler tubes were replaced.  There is some suspicion that the fuel filter sensor, located on the top of the fuel tank might be creating the code alert.  This may be a future issue and may not.  Please be advised!  ($54 part and about 2-hours labor to lower tank to replace and install). No 'check engine' light is currently displayed.

***The Air Bag indicator lights up about 1-2 minutes after the car is started.  It is code P-1058.  It indicates that the passenger Air Bag made have a connection issue. The air bag IS INTACT and staged to fire if necessary.  This has been physically checked by two dealer mechanics and the recommendation was to replace the connector for $350.  I never spend the money.

***The Oil Light indicator has been going on and off since I had an accident in the car over 8 years ago. It is what-it-is.  I never spent the $300+ to have the dashboard removed to correct the light. I was more concerned about other items that would be get messed up with such a major upheaval of the dashboard.

***The Air Conditioner is "ICE COLD" and functions with all automatic and manual controls.  IT DOES take 4-5 minutes on a HOT DAY for it to start up.  I don't know why and it has never been checked for the issue. All I know is that it works great.

Ford announces free brake pad offer if customers stop by dealers

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers.
"We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts.
Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1.

2017 Lincoln Continental spied on the inside

Fri, Dec 18 2015

We just saw the lightly camouflaged exterior of the 2017 Lincoln Continental a few days ago, and a new set of spy shots now give us an even better look inside the upcoming luxury sedan. Where the outside largely brings the concept's design to the road, the production interior shows far more compromises. Rather than the expanse of blue leather and Alcantara upholstery, Lincoln's stylists tone things down with a mostly black cabin. While less overwhelming than on the showcar, there's still no shortage of chrome because strips of the shining metal outline nearly every surface. Wood accents also help add some visual interest. The general cabin layout remains close to the concept. The infotainment system gets prime position near the top of the center stack, and the buttons for the transmission sit vertically on the left side of the screen. The design then flows to an angled console that features physical controls for things like the radio and HVAC. These photos provide another view at the nearly undisguised exterior, too. The Lincoln emblem at the front is chrome on this test car, and you can now spot more shining trim underneath the grille. Also look close for a better view of the door handles along the beltline. We expect the full reveal of the production Continental at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Related Video:

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
