1988 Lincoln Town Car Signature Sedan 4-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Mogadore, Ohio, United States
This is a really clean '88 Lincoln Town Car even though it has 144,000 miles. According to the previous owners, it has never seen winter, and it shows because there is no rust. The only paint on the car that is not original is the passenger quarter panel. The rest is original paint with all VIN tags in place. It has the typical Lincoln Town Car cracks in the drivers door armrest but the interior is really nice with no tears or rips in the seats. Car runs and drives 100% and the AC blows cold and the heater works great! Tires are like new with the factory Lincoln wheels in very good condition. Chrome on the bumpers is in very good shape with no rust or pitting. The color is a deep wine or burgundy with gray leather interior. The vinyl roof is very good with no cracks or tears. I am a small used car dealer in northeast Ohio about 5 minutes east of Akron in Suffield, Ohio. I am about three miles south of Summit Racing Equipment which is in Tallmadge Ohio. Please do not bid if you do not intend on following through with the purchase or don't have your funds in order. If you are the winning bidder and live outside of Ohio you will pay sales tax in your state of residence. Ohio residents must pay tax upon purchase of the vehicle along with $50.00 title fee. I do not believe in doc fees so there is none. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit is due at auction close through Paypal or I will accept a USPS money order sent next-day. I welcome you and strongly urge you to inspect and test drive this vehicle before purchase. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer 100%, and I will assist your shipper in anyway I can. For questions, I can be reached at (330) 221-7760 toll free on my cell. Also, all the stainless trim is in excellent shape with no dents. The radio and cassette player works fine but the electronic display does not light up. I have tried to give an honest description of this vehicle, and believe the buyer will be very satisfied with the car. There is no reserve but the vehicle is for sale on the car lot and through other media, so I reserve the right to cancel before the auction ends. Thanks for bidding and good luck! Tim.

Lincoln MKX Concept goes for the gold in Beijing
Sun, 20 Apr 2014We've now seen the Lincoln MKX Concept in the metal, and we've shot it with the lenses of our own DSLR cameras. And we have to say, our opinion of the concept's design language has improved over our initial reaction. Yes, it's clear that this MKX shares its underpinnings with those of the Ford Edge Concept that we saw in LA, but the changes made by Lincoln stylists are a welcome departure from the angular lines of its corporate cousin from The Blue Oval.
We like the subtlety of the MKX Concept's front fascia, and the lighting elements both front and rear lend a luxurious quality to the crossover's typical two-box proportions. When combined with the smaller MKC that was shown in production form late last year, it's clear to see that Lincoln has a specific design direction that at least seems visually capable of setting it apart from the Ford models with which the brand shares its platforms. Here's hoping there are some Lincoln-specific upgrades underhood...
Have a look at our image gallery of live photos from Beijing above, reread the press release below, and feel free to let us know what you think.
Ford patents a multi-touch version of its classic keypad
Fri, Sep 9 2016For decades, Ford has offered a keypad on the doors of their cars that would allow owners access with the right code. Amazingly, the keypad has survived almost unchanged except for a recent touch button version. A new patent from the Blue Oval shows the keypad may get a big upgrade soon. The first big change is that it looks like the keypad may move to the key fob. Although it might be possible to have it on the car itself as well, the patent only seems to focus on the key fob. In addition, the fob will now be a multi-touch pad similar to that of modern smartphones. This will allow for more diverse code entries, according to the patent's description. Instead of just a simple number code, owners could enter a code that involves swipes and keystrokes, and even simultaneous keystrokes. For instance, you could enter a code that requires swiping from 1 to 3, followed by holding 2 and 4 to unlock the car. The patent also seems to indicate that this keypad would then display unlock functions and other functions on the fob after the correct code is entered, thus making it more than just a way to unlock the car. As for the practical implications of this keypad system update, it could provide an added layer of security. If someone steals your keys, they would have to also know your access code to get into the car. Whether this would also help make the key and car harder to hack would remain to be seen, though. Another possible benefit could be the prevention of accidental lock and alarm button presses, although that likely isn't a common issue. There could be potential downsides as well. If used as an extra layer of security, the legitimate owner would have to punch in their code on the fob to get in, which would render proximity key benefits relatively useless. Moving the keypad to the fob would also mean owners couldn't get into their cars without having the key with them. We don't have any clues as to when this could become a feature, but it doesn't seem like it would be difficult to implement, so it could show up in the next few years. 2015 Lincoln MKC priced from $33,995* [w/poll]
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Looking to build on the momentum it struggled to establish with the MKZ, Lincoln recently unveiled the production version of its all-new MKC last month at the LA Auto Show. With a proven platform shared with the Ford Escape and striking design, the 2015 Lincoln MKC goes on sale next summer ready to take on the ever-expanding world of luxury compact crossovers. Breaking into this new segment, Lincoln has priced the MKC aggressively as one of the least-expensive offerings in its class, starting at $33,995 (*including destination charges).
At that price, the 2015 MKC costs a little bit more than a fully loaded 2014 Ford Escape Titanium and is just slightly less costly than the Acura RDX and Volvo XC60. More importantly, it's thousands less than Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes GLK-Class. The MKC will be offered in three trim levels for now - there is still no more information about Lincoln's new Black Label products - ranging from the base Premiere up to the range-topping Reserve.
The Premiere will come standard with features like active grille shutters, push-button start, remote start, dual-zone climate control and heated front seats, while the midgrade Select starts at $37,225 and adds upgraded 18-inch wheels, ambient lighting, daytime running lights and a steering wheel featuring Wollsdorf leather. The top-shelf Reserve trim level starts at $40,930 and brings even more luxury features including the panoramic roof, navigation, cooled front seats and wifi access.
