I am selling a 98 Lincoln Navigator. It has 165,500 miles. This SUV still runs and drives good. The truck is not perfect and does need some work. I will list every defect so there are no surprises The body is in very nice condition, a few scratches and paint chips, minor dings, but nothing major and does not affect the function of the vehicle. There is a rip in the plastic front bumper on the right shown in picture. It is also missing the driver side fender light lens. There is no rust on the body. It has all wheel drive , 4 high and 4 low. The a/c and heat work. All the windows and locks work. .The truck does need a starter. Also it either needs a new coolent temp sensor or possibly a computer. The needle jumps from cold to hot. When that happens the oil and battery gauge also go right up. It needs a radio but does include a 6 disc changer in the center console. The interior is also very good but has some minor imperfections. Some of the wood trim in the interior is faded. The end of the shift handle is broken, but it functions perfectly, just plastic broken on the end.The front seats have rips but have covers. The 2nd and 3rd row seats are in excellent condition. The carpet is also in excellent condition throughout. It is very clean, you can see from the pictures. The truck has air suspension that seems to work. It is missing 2 center caps in the wheel. The tires will need to be replaced but have some life left in them. The spare is new. The motor is very clean and the transmission is also. There are no leaks under the truck. I am listing all the problems I can think of on the truck so you know what you are getting. I am very honest and have been mislead looking at cars so just trying to list all the problems up front. I do not have the time or money to invest in this truck so I am selling it. This can be a great reliable vehicle with the few minor things fixed that I have mentioned. Please ask any questions and I will get back to you ASAP.
On Nov-13-13 at 12:09:36 PST, seller added the following information: I disconnected the coolent temp sensor and all the gauges work properly. so I am guessing it is the coolent sensor that is bad not a computer or anything else. I am not a mechanic which is why I am not trying to replace it so I don't do any damage. as far as the starter it has not given me any problems. the truck really runs good and the transmission shift great. again I listed all the problems i could with the truck because i am very honest. not trying to make it out to be a junk. i just expect the same if i was buying something. with a little time and money this would be a great truck especially for the winter. |

McConaughey stars in new round of Lincoln ads
Thu, Aug 20 2015Matthew McConaughey's ruminative commercial work with the Lincoln MKC, MKZ, and MKZ Hybrid showed us a side of Lincoln we didn't know existed, and a bunch of spoofs made us laugh about it. Most importantly, though, the partnership worked, leading to a double-digit increase in sales and millions of hits in brand exposure. That's why the actor and the automaker are back together, McConaughey scheduled to return in a new commercial campaign launching September 2 for the 2016 Lincoln MKX. He'll give up the air of cosmopolitan sage, because these ads "dial up the swagger factor" according to Lincoln's group marketing manager John Emmert. Introduced earlier this year at the Detroit Motor Show, the brand put a lot of work into the all-new model, said to be "much improved in how it rides, steers, brakes and looks," offering a more powerful engine, and at least 36 new features including adaptive lighting. Ford's first production implementation of adaptive steering, and Harman's first automobile application of Revel audio will bow with the mid-sized crossover. On top of all that, it's also got that lower price. Emmert said the McConaughey ads will point out "the technology and the beauty of the vehicle." Lincoln will buy time during NFL games as part of the campaign. We have no doubt the anticipation from YouTube and a few celebrity rascals is already high. Related Video:
Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.
How the Lincoln Continental Concept almost wasn't
Mon, Mar 30 2015That Lincoln Continental Concept that everyone is so excited about? It almost didn't happen. Speaking at the private reveal event for the concept yesterday, Ford Motor Company CEO Mark Fields revealed that when the design team started working on the vehicle that eventually became the Continental, the designers thought it was just another full-size luxury concept, and were turning in ideas to match. The problem, Fields said, is that this was an important vehicle to get right. "A full-size luxury sedan for a luxury brand is a very important marker that, I think, sets the beat for the brand and it creates a lot of awareness and favorability if you do it right," he said. "As we were designing this concept ... we reviewed with the designers the themes. The first couple of themes the team came with really didn't do it for us because we want to make sure that every vehicle that we bring out with Lincoln moves the brand forwards in a big way. So we went through the first couple of them and we really didn't get that kind of 'oomph' in the pit of our stomach." The team was stuck with an upcoming debut and nothing exciting to show for it, until the past was brought into the present. "In one of the design reviews, we were looking around at everyone and we mentioned, you know what, why don't we call this the Continental Concept? And I have to tell you, the body language was unbelievable in the design showroom. Everybody's head snapped up and you could see everybody's eyes widen and they started nodding and they said, 'now we get it.'" Aside from the Navigator, every vehicle Lincoln currently sells is simply named a trio of letters that start with M and K. Fields knew that the large luxury segment sedan is important for a company like Lincoln, with about 1.8 million units sold last year and an expected growth to around 2 million units by the end of the decade, he said. "When you think about where that growth is coming from, it's still a substantial segment here in the US, it's a very substantial segment and even more substantial segment in China. As a matter of fact, that segment grew by 17 percent last year and China is the largest market for full-size luxury sedans." Given the positive reaction to the Continental Concept thus far, bringing the name back from the dead might be just the thing Lincoln needed.
