Lincoln MKC crossover headed for Detroit

Fresh off the launch of the stylish new MKZ sedan, the newly named Lincoln Motor Company is reportedly preparing for a lineup expansion. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the first new product joining the Lincoln brand is a small crossover based on the Ford Escape said to be called the MKC. We saw this machine testing a few months ago, and while we were hoping the name might be reserved for a future two-door model or even the diminutive Concept C hatchback, it looks like the "C" will stand for compact crossover instead.
The report also says that this crossover will be making its debut next month at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, so we'll have to wait until then to see what the new model looks like. Unlike the MKX, which is based off the Ford Edge, we would expect there to be a lot more differentiation between the MKC and the Escape like Ford managed to do with the newest Fusion and MKZ.
In addition to the new MKC, the article states new MKS and Navigator designs are expected to debut by 2014.

2017 Lincoln Continental brings 'quiet luxury' to Detroit

That effortless power comes from a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 that will produce up to 400 horsepower. Other features include exterior ambient lighting that activates when the driver approaches, hidden electric door handles, and an available panoramic glass panel covering the entire roof. The new Conti also boasts a three-mode suspension and steering system, torque vectoring, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system, and collision assist with pedestrian detection. Meanwhile the interior offers such amenities as 30-way adjustable front seats, reclining, massaging and climate-controlled rear seats, a Revel audio system, and active noise cancellation. All the features, in short, you'd expect from a luxury sedan, and then some. Only this one will be made in Flat Rock, not imported from overseas. Following its debut at the Detroit Auto Show this week, it will reach dealers in the fall – at which point import and Caddy dealers alike may need to start taking notice. Bentley designer calls Lincoln Continental concept a Flying Spur 'copy' [w/poll]

When you first laid eyes on the new Lincoln Continental concept, we'd wager you were likely impressed, because it's an impressive design. But if you also thought it looked familiar, you're in good company. According to Car Design News, design chief Luc Donckerwolke over at Bentley thinks the Lincoln concept bears more than a passing resemblance to another Continental: Bentley's own Flying Spur. "This behavior is not respectable. Building a copy like this is giving a bad name to the car design world," Donckerwolke told CDN, after posting some disparaging comments on Facebook and offering in jest to send over the tooling. "It is very disappointing, especially for an exclusive brand like Lincoln," added Sangyup Lee, his deputy for exterior design. The irony is further entrenched by the name, which Bentley only dropped from its Flying Spur in its latest iteration but still uses for the coupe and convertible models. Both automakers have a deeply routed history with the nameplate, but Lincoln's stretches back further, having first used the handle in 1939 before Bentley did in 1952. However it's not the nameplate that's the subject of controversy here, rather the design of the vehicle to which it's applied.
