Trying this again....GREAT vehicle that is sure to please! Masculine piece of Americana that will turn the heads and soothe the souls!!
This is a REAL 2-owner antique coupe with a strong 460cu engine and tight transmission that can be a daily driver or a great conversation piece!
The vehicle has 11,954 miles on it. Obviously there is no way I know of to guarantee those are the exact miles, however, given the condition of the vehicle, the smell, the ride, and anything else I can think of to debunk the miles on the odometer, I could not imagine it not being the actual mileage.
Vehicle was originally bought by a rather large (350lb) man who parked the vehicle in a dark, no window garage in late 1982/early 1983. It sat there until the second owner purchased it five (5) years ago. Immediately the second owner had the fuel tank and lines replaced along with the radiator core. He did this to remove any bad fuel and replaced the radiator core at the suggestion of his mechanic because coolant may have the potential to eat and leak after sitting that long.
Other than that you are looking at an all original 1974 Lincoln Mark IV Coupe.
This vehicle drives strong and rides smooth. Gears shift nice and tight with no jerking motions.
So there we have the good. Now what you all want to know....what's not perfect about this awesome car??
As I said, a large man drove it so even with the LOW miles, there is some wear on the drivers seat, but not ripped or anything. Feels like it could use a spring for a little more support. Also, due to the man's size, I am unable to get power to the drivers power seat. I am 6'1 and it sits fine for me and my wife is 5'9 an sits ok for her too.
The headliner is hanging about an inch right at the drivers side sun-visor, but the rest is in good shape.
There are probably 5 or 6 small paint flakes around the body; none larger than the tip of my pinky. Also, on the drivers door, you can barely see where he used his thigh to nudge the door closed. The current owner and my wife don't see it, but when you pick as many cars as I have, it's there. Easy fix but not noticeable to the average eye.
The chrome trim is in nice shape however the trim along the passengers side has some dings. Not hail but not sure what it is. May be able to ping it out; not major.
When the vehicle is started, the headlamp covers close unless you turn the lights on, then they open. However, when you park the car and turn the engine off, the headlamp covers slowly slide back open.
Overall this is a great car that can absolutely be enjoyed the way it sits with no additional work or money invested by you. At the same time, if you just really want to play with it, it would take VERY little to make this a no-pick car that could get valued over $20k if you went through it with a comb and just dotted all the I's.
Gentleman I am representing this car for has simply collected too many toys and his wife is on him to clear out the barn!
Don't let this one slip by!! Do your homework before you bid...Cars like this with MUCH higher miles (50k-80K) and lesser desired color combinations sale all day for big money!! You get the DEAL because I need it GONE!!
Whoever gets this will be sitting pretty whether you keep it for your collection, for your daily driver, or if you want to turn a profit!
Feel free to contact with ANY questions...I pride myself on telling the good, the bad, and the ugly on all vehicles I represent. No car is perfect but this one is absolutely better than average.
There is no financing on this vehicle. We can accept cash, certified funds, or electronic transfer. Shipping is not included however I will gladly help negotiate shipping for the buyer if desired.
NO FLAKES PLEASE!!
Thanks for bidding. jf@FamilyFirstAutomotive.com

Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.
Weekly Recap: Revisting the BBC report that ended Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear run
Sat, Mar 28 2015Jeremy Clarkson's long run as a Top Gear host has come to an end, and the reason is clear: His physical assault on one of the show's producers crossed a line, and the government-owned BBC couldn't tolerate it. The incident between Clarkson and Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon was initially described as a "fracas," and Clarkson was suspended. But his popularity and widespread support – even British Prime Minister David Cameron weighed in – suggested that the controversial Clarkson might be given yet another chance. The BBC put this to rest Wednesday when it sacked Clarkson and revealed the findings of its investigation. The report spelled out how Clarkson struck Tymon on the patio of a North Yorkshire (UK) hotel, leaving him with a bloodied, swollen lip. It was severe enough that the producer sought medical treatment. During and after the attack, Clarkson shouted expletives at Tymon and threatened to fire him. The noise carried into the hotel's dining room and even to a bedroom. Local police investigated the incident, but Tymon isn't pressing charges. The huge audience numbers, Clarkson's popularity and the high-octane excitement of Top Gear all melted away in the eyes of BBC director-general Tony Hall, who saw an attacker and a victim. "For me a line has been crossed," he said in a statement. "There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another dictated by either rank, or public relations and commercial considerations." In that moment, Clarkson was the bad guy, though he was actually the one who reported it to the network and made repeated attempts to apologize to Tymon. He's also urged the media to leave the producer alone. Hall voiced regret in the statement that announced Clarkson's contract would not be renewed, but the BBC decided to move on. Rumors are swirling about possible replacements for Clarkson. The network says it wants to continue Top Gear in 2016 and is looking to air the rest of this season's episodes. Despite the controversy, the show has a global audience of 350 million viewers and is one of the BBC's most valuable properties. It's unclear what Clarkson's co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, will do, as their contracts were also reportedly up to be renewed. Is Lincoln working on a Continental concept?
Wed, Mar 25 2015The Lincoln Continental wasn't included in our post on the list of trademarks we'd like to see turned into production vehicles – the only Lincoln mention was our idea of transferring its Aviator name to a special edition Ford Mustang. But, like you, the idea of a resurrected Continental is always with us, especially when we read articles about the brand's efforts to redefine American luxury. Ford applied for the Continental trademark in 1953 and renewed in 2005, and it appears they might have something to show for it soon. A web snooper found a development site at the Lincoln domain that introduces us to the "elegantly styled and boldly distinctive Lincoln Continental Concept." There are no images, but we've combined all the text into a single image, above, and the hints we get in three blurb texts inform us that "It represents who we are as a carmaker," that it's an "envisioning of what's to come," that "No question went unanswered" and "No answer went unchallenged," and that it "is everything we know about cars, and everything we understand about people." We also found the tagline "Follow us forward," which doesn't appear on any published Lincoln site page at the moment, and the public is invited to get involved (eventually) by tweeting Continental stories and photos. Could this be the next step in the turgid drama Lincoln Rising? We look forward to finding out. Related Video:
