1997 Lincoln Mark Viii No Reserve, Mustang Cobra Motor 140k Miles. on 2040-cars
Darien, Georgia, United States
1997 Lincoln Mark VIII. Evergreen Pearl with gray leather interior. Built at the Wixom, Michigan assembly plant, and sold new in Marietta, Georgia, this car has been in Georgia its whole life. 140k miles. Power windows, power door locks, power seats, power tilt and telescopic steering column, cruise control, cold A/C, rear defogger, air ride suspension, moon roof, AM/FM Cassette with 6 Disc CD changer in trunk. The radio quit working. I still have CDs in the changer I can't get out.
Car has the 4.6 liter all aluminum 4 cam 32 valve V8 rated at 280 horsepower, and the 4R70W automatic transmission. Four wheel independent suspension and four wheel disc brakes. Car averages mid 20 mpg highway. I have replaced both upper and lower control arms with ball joints. The nifty neon trunk mounted tail/brake light works, and is a rather pricey item all by itself. Car is currently being driven on an average of 50 miles per day currently. Car is 18 years old and does need some work: * The blend door that opens to allow the heater to work is stuck shut. No heat until you either manually open it, or fix it. Air conditioning will freeze you out. * Car has cosmetic damage to right front fender, door, and bottom of right quarter panel ahead of the wheel. I have another door, and fender that go with the car for the asking price. * Good tires. It does need a four wheel alignment since the control arms were replaced and it isn't in check now. * The air ride suspension will leak down in the front after being parked for a few hours. It will pump back up after starting the car up, and rides very nicely afterwards. * The moon roof does not open. And on a positive not, it does not leak either. * Drivers side seat motor isn't working. Seat back will tilt back and front, but the seat itself will not move forward, or rearward. * Interior "A"-pillar molding on drivers side is tan, not gray like the rest of the interior. * Drivers seat will not move forward or backward. It will recline, and the bottom moves up and down. Priced far below the Kelley Blue Book price in "Fair' condition, and car is way nicer than "Fair". Car is located in the coastal town of Darien, Georgia (about one hour south of Savannah right off of I-95). Car can be driven home as is. Vehicle must be paid in full within ten days of the auctions end. Car can be stored up to 30 days unless you and I make prior arrangements. Frank |

1955 Lincoln Indianapolis concept up for auction
Sat, 21 Sep 2013
Lincoln was never a brand known for making sports cars. In fact it hasn't offered anything with less than four doors since the demise of the Mark VIII, and that was hardly what you'd call "performance oriented". But that doesn't mean that Ford's luxury marque never toyed with the idea.
In 1955 Ford delivered a Lincoln chassis (along with a 200-horsepower V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission) to Carrozzeria Boano, an Italian coachbuilder that had just branched off from Ghia the year before. The resulting orange coupe you see here was named after Indianapolis and was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show. And while its detailing may have been divisive, the overall shape certainly caught the eye.
RWD Lincolns are coming, fate depends partly on MKZ success
Tue, 04 Dec 2012The product portfolio at Lincoln may seem a bit sparse at the moment, but if a report is to be believed, new products are on the way. TheDetroitBureau.com spoke with sources at Lincoln and Ford, who claimed the American premium brand is working on, perhaps more than one, rear-wheel-drive vehicle.
Lincoln would likely platform-share with the next-generation Ford Mustang to develop those RWD offerings in the early going. Moving forward, the report indicates that Lincoln could take the lead on other rear-drive projects in the future. As the RWD architecture continues to take shape, "most or all" of the front-wheel-drive portfolio will also be offered with all-wheel drive as an option, ala Audi.
But wait, there's more! The report also suggests that a replacement for the full-size MKS is on the way, as well as a new Navigator and a luxury crossover based on the current Ford Escape.
2015 Lincoln MKC aims to rejuvenate the brand... again
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Ford is slowly but surely attempting to revitalize the Lincoln brand, with the new MKZ sedan pointing the way forward for the Blue Oval's struggling luxury division. Here at the LA Auto Show, Lincoln is showing the next new product that aims to give the brand new life, the 2015 MKC crossover.
The MKC is based on the trusty Ford Escape, but this is far more than just a rebadge job. Lincoln has used completely new sheetmetal here, with the brand's familiar split-wing grille front and center, and a classy, wraparound tailgate with super slim taillamps that span the width of the hatchback. It's one of the better applications of Lincoln's new design language we've seen thus far, and the end result is a taut-looking crossover that is at the same time both modern and luxurious-looking.
Further differentiating itself from the Escape, the MKC packs an all-new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, good for 275 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. (On the base end, Ford's 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft is available.) The MKC also uses a new Continuously Controlled Damping adaptive suspension, and is available with both front- and all-wheel drive.
