This car has approx. 3,000 miles on the new build. Start with shiny black paint, add some silver striping and tint the windows. Tied in roll cage Seats are Charcoal leather with gray & black tweed insets. Hurst shifter 302 crate has been bored/stroked to a 347 CI supercharged monster When this car was dyno'd it flat lined at 675 HP at the rear wheels when it ran out of fuel. This motor is paired with a late model Tremec 5-speed transmission, Ford 9" posi rear end with 4:11 Richmond rear gear and a 31-spline mosier axle. Front disc brakes and drum brakes at the rear. Wheels are by Weld: front wheels are wrapped in Starfire Flite-line 205/65/15, while the rear wheels are covered in Mickey Thompson Sportsman 33X 19.5X 15. You get all this and a reported 21 MPG! |

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy
Tue, 07 May 2013With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.

Lincoln Aviator backup camera failure spurs recall
Fri, Apr 2 2021Ford Motor Company has announced a recall of certain Lincoln Aviator SUVs to fix faulty rearview cameras. The recall is for 2020 and 2021 model-year Aviators. A total of 34,975 vehicles in the U.S. and another 3,053 in Canada and 379 in Mexico are affected. The image processing module can fail, resulting in the loss of the camera feed when in reverse. Ford says it knows of no accidents or injuries related to the defect. Owners of the affected Aviators will be notified beginning May 19. Dealers will update the software in the modules. In the meantime, Autoblog reminds drivers that if they experience backup camera failure, they can revert to the old-fashioned method of turning in their seat and looking out the back window when reversing.
