1984 Lincoln Mark VII. 71,223 Miles!(as of 7/27) Silver, V8, Automatic, Power Locks, Power Driver Side Window. Blue cloth interior. A/C and Heat both work. Clean Title in hand. Body in great shape. The original rubber side trim was pretty worn, so I took it off and painted a darker gray stripe as you can see in the pictures.  Not a pro job by any means, but looks much better than it did before.  This car has updated suspension, not the original air ride suspension. Car drives great, could use a little work to be top shape(see info below). Only reason I am selling vehicle is because I need something a little more practical for a baby on the way. I have driven this car for about 1 1/2 years now as my daily driver, just local driving around town and between Prescott and PV, only have put 1K-2K miles on it. No major problems at all. Just the couple minor things that I replaced. This car should have a lot of life left considering the mileage and condition.  It is almost 30 years old, so there are minor cosmetic issues as to be expected.  All things considered I am listing this car for about half what I paid for just a year and a half ago and I have made nothing but improvements to this car since then.

Things the previous owner replaced:

*Alternator
*Distributor Cap
*Spark Plugs
*A bunch of hoses

Things I have personally replaced:

*Ignition Switch
*Voltage Regulator
*Fuel Filter
*Air filter and breather element
*Speaker grills on inside of doors(they were cracking) I found some on ebay)
*Panels by taillights(were faded from sun and cracking, also found on ebay)
*Upgraded Stereo: Kenwood CD Deck with Aux input for MP3 player. Stock speakers still sound great. Still have the original stereo that comes with.

The Bad, which isn't really too bad: (Vehicle is sold as is)

*Passenger side window doesn't work. Pretty sure the parts are relatively cheap for this fix.
*Digital Gas Gauge doesn't work.(Its on but is not accurate, so I usually just put some gas in every week.) Could be an easy fix, I haven't tried.
*A couple light slow leaks.(*Leaks aren't bad to the point where you would have to fill fluid more than you normally would*)Not sure if it needs new seals or what, haven't attempted to fix since the leaks aren't that bad.
*Some sun damage on the trunk.
*Soft cloth on interior roof is loose in a few areas, some spray adhesive would probably do the trick

*I disconnected the Tripminder because it was beeping a lot during the colder weather.  It worked as far as I could tell, but the beeping just annoyed me.

NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs

Mon, 11 Mar 2013

It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.

The 1965 Ford Mustang could have looked a lot different

Fri, May 8 2020

The 1965 Ford Mustang is unquestionably an automotive design icon, and nearly every generation of Mustang has some connection to that original car. Because it's such a universally-known vehicle, we were amazed to see all the different designs that were being considered. Head of Ford's archives Ted Ryan recently shared photos of design proposals for the original Mustang on Twitter that he and Jamie Myler found, and we reached out to them to find out more. As Ryan initially noted, the photos were taken on August 19, 1962, and they are proposals for the Ford Mustang. Apparently Ford had committed to doing a Falcon-based youth-oriented car at this point, and it did have plans to launch the car in 1964 for the 1965 model year. But after having little success with early design proposals, the company asked all of its design studios — the Advanced Studio, Lincoln-Mercury Studio and Ford Studio — to submit proposals. With only about two years before the planned launch, Ford was understandably short on time, and it's believed that the studios only had a month to create and present these designs. Lincoln-Mercury design proposal View 8 Photos The majority of the designs, a total of five, came from the Advanced Studio, and part of this was because they already had a couple of concept designs in reserve it could present. Two other models representing three design possibilities came from Lincoln-Mercury, and just one model with two options came from Ford. The Advanced Studio proposals are shown in the gallery at the very top of this article, and the Lincoln-Mercury and Ford proposals are in the gallery directly above this paragraph. The Advanced Studio's most radical design is the one that was clearly related to the Mustang I concept that would be shown later that year with huge wraparound rear glass, turbine-inspired bumpers and enormous side scoops. The other proposals from the studio were more conservative, featuring simple lines, grilles reminiscent of the Falcon, and one even borrowing the jet-thruster-style taillights made famous on the Thunderbird. Lincoln-Mercury had some impressively bold designs, particularly its fastback that had buttresses to extend the shape all the way to the tail. This car had two different side trim possibilities. The other Lincoln-Mercury design was toned down a bit, but had two interesting possibilities for side detailing, as well as some crisp, low-profile tail fins.

2017 Lincoln Continental brings 'quiet luxury' to Detroit

Tue, Jan 12 2016

Following the concept that debuted in New York the better part of a year ago, the production Lincoln Continental promises to usher in a new era for the Lincoln division and put up a better fight against Cadillac. (Or so, at least its parent company Ford would hope.) To that end, Dearborn's luxury brand promises "an elegant, effortlessly powerful, serene fullsize sedan that delivers quiet luxury to the industry's most discerning customers." That effortless power comes from a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 that will produce up to 400 horsepower. Other features include exterior ambient lighting that activates when the driver approaches, hidden electric door handles, and an available panoramic glass panel covering the entire roof. The new Conti also boasts a three-mode suspension and steering system, torque vectoring, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system, and collision assist with pedestrian detection. Meanwhile the interior offers such amenities as 30-way adjustable front seats, reclining, massaging and climate-controlled rear seats, a Revel audio system, and active noise cancellation. All the features, in short, you'd expect from a luxury sedan, and then some. Only this one will be made in Flat Rock, not imported from overseas. Following its debut at the Detroit Auto Show this week, it will reach dealers in the fall – at which point import and Caddy dealers alike may need to start taking notice.
