You are bidding on a 1978 Lincoln continentla Mark V 2 door. It is a survior with 67k miles on it. The majority of the paint appears to original. The paint is very nice for it's age, but is not perfect. It is a driver, not a show car. It was in a private collection for the past 13 years. The interior is very, very nice. The wheels ar nice with relatively new tires. The car runs and drives great. The air works but unsure how well since it is still winter. Overall it is a nice unmolested car. There are a couple of minor issues: the radio antenna needs fixed, the gas guage works intermittantly, and the is minor rust starting on the bottom of the LF fender. It is also missing teh spare tire. I bought the car because when I was in high school all the rich kids had lincolns and t-birds. I drove a duster. Lincoln drops MKX base price to $38,995
Mon, Jun 22 2015Lincoln is giving the 2016 MKX a major improvement in style and tech, and is introducing the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 as an option for the luxury crossover. While all of those changes are significant, the cost might be just as enticing to get customers checking out the new generation. The base price for 2016 falls to $38,995, after an $895 destination charge on all models, compared to $39,795 for the 2015. At this time, there are three trim levels listed on Lincoln's site, but a Black Label version is supposed to come along later to add a bit more opulence. Above the base Premiere trim, the Select model starts at $42,285, and adds features like LED running lights, folding and heated mirrors, leather seats, and a power hatch. Spending $46,050 brings buyers to the Reserve trim with upgrades including a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels, navigation, adaptive headlights, and heated seats. There are a huge number of individual options available, including full LED headlights and a safety suite of tech. Opting for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost pushes the price of any trim up an extra $2,000, and checking the box for all-wheel drive brings with it an added $2,495. Lincoln putting perfume on its sales

But unlike those from Mustang, Lamborghini or even Shark by Tara, you can't buy it and you have to visit a Lincoln dealership to inhale its notes of jasmine hedione, mate tea leaves and tonka beans. Essence of Lincoln - that's what it's called - is being piped through the ventilation systems at some showrooms to help "create an emotional connection between the luxury brand and its customers," and olfactorily promote the idea of "luxury and warmth." Where it's not run through the ducts, visitors can sample it on scent cards.
Master perfumer Rene Morgenthaler worked with aroma house SensoryMax to design Essence of Lincoln. Also including traces of Earl Grey bergamot and green tea, whenever you encounter it you're meant to enjoy "a feeling of belonging to an exclusive, forward-thinking group that values style and success."
