1976 Lincoln Mark IV All original car!
It's original ONLY ONCE!
This is truely a survivor from the 70's and has resided in Colorado's dry climate  all of it's existence and has been garage kept during that time.  It's original paint is starting to show some thinning on the top surfaces(hood, 1/2 of top & trunk) the sides still look great!  The factory vinyl top is in good condition as well, with some slight dis-coloration in several places, nothing major.
The interior leather seats are in beautiful conditiion w/ just minor wear as seen in pictures on drivers seat back edge.  Dash pad has no cracks, which is a testament to being garage kept.   all the chrome trim is in beautiful shape as well!  This all original Mark series is equipped with a smooth running 460 engine,  automatic transmission,  air conditioning, power moon-roof,  color coordinated leather interior, thick pile carpeting,  AM/FM radio, power windows, power door locks, power drivers seat.
The engine starts with ease,  idles smooth, runs and drives almost as well as it did when it was new.  Driving this car is like riding on a cloud, it literally floats!  Currently, the car has 107,726 miles.  It has been driven only 4,428 miles during the past 24 years.   I am planning to take it for a drive this weekend so, it will have slightly more miles on it.
Like most older Lincoln's ( I have owned quite afew of them) when it sit in the garage & is not driven, it does develope some fluid leaks (pwr steering, trans fluids as the oil drains back into the pan from torque converter causing it rise past the top of pan gasket.  If you are familiar with older cars, especially Lincoln's & Ford products, this is very common.  Tires have good tread on them & should be fine for a shorter drive.  I would replace them if I planned to drive cross country, especially in the heat of summer.  I would not hesitate driving this car the 2000 +/- miles from Denver to Boston, then back to Denver.  For those of you who are wondering about mileage, it averages somewhere in the mid teens, as long as you don't use a lead foot.    If you are heavy on the gas foot, you may get only 12mpg.  It's all in how you drive!
I will stand behind my description as to condition of this vehicle. If you arrive to pick it up within seven (7) days from end of auction & you find this car to be materially different than the description, I will refund your deposit, shake your hand & we part company on a friendly note. Fair enough?

Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy

Sun, 31 Aug 2014

Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).

NHTSA upgrades Ford floor mat unintended acceleration probe

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

According to a Bloomberg report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into complaints of unintended acceleration lodged against Ford vehicles. The investigation began in June of 2010 when just three complaints had been received and it only concerned the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but this was at a time when the phrase "unintended acceleration" made grown men go pale. With 49 additional complaints received since then, the investigation has been reclassified as an engineering analysis - the last phase before a recall - and it has been expanded to include the Lincoln MKZ, making for a total of "around 480,000" units affected between the three sedans from the 2008 to 2010 model years.
The ostensible cause is that floor mats are trapping the accelerator pedal, but according to a Ford statement at the time, the entrapment is due to owners placing the optional all-weather floor mats, or aftermarket floor mats, on top of the car's standard floor mats. NHTSA has backed up that assessment, pinning the blame on "unsecured or double stacked floor mats."
On the face of it, it would appear that NHTSA has upgraded the status not because of Ford's error, but owner error, and Ford has stated publicly that it is "disappointed" in NHTSA's move. On top of NHTSA still being skittish after that other unintended acceleration debacle, it could be seen to be taking its time investigating all of the variables: it's reported that Ford changed its accelerator pedal design in 2010, a "heel blocker" in the floorpan has been considered a potential culprit in how the floor mats could be trapping the pedal, some drivers have said the floor mats weren't anywhere near the pedal, and according to a report in the LA Times, in "a letter sent by Ford to NHTSA in August 2010, the automaker said it found three injuries and one fatality that 'may have resulted from the alleged defect.'"

We test Lincoln's 20-speaker Revel Ultima stereo with a rock star

Fri, Aug 26 2016

If there's two things Detroiters know, it's music and cars. So when Lincoln approached us with big claims about their latest stereo system, the Revel Ultima System, we sought out a veteran of the Motor City music scene to test it out. First unveiled at the 2015 Detroit International Auto Show in the Lincoln MKX, Revel is bringing its bumping bass to the 2017 Lincoln MKZ. We had Dick Valentine, lead singer of Electric Six and favorite son of Detroit, try out the 20-speaker, 1200-watt system. If you want it on your MKZ, Revel Ultima is part of the $4,400 Luxury Package. Electric Six is perhaps most famous for its early hit, Gay Bar, and the music video filled with shirtless Abe Lincolns in the White House. Since their debut release, Fire, E6 has backed up a regular touring schedule with ten more studio albums, both a live album and live DVD, and an upcoming quasi-reality film titled Roulette Stars of Metro Detroit. We met up with Valentine on the set of the Roulette Stars to explore the depths of his sardonic wit that oozes through every E6 song. Lincoln says that Revel is the best in the biz. And we'll admit, the stats are impressive. But are 20 speakers and marketing terms like Quantum Logic Surround Technology, Clari-Fi Technology and Point Source Architecture enough to impress a Detroit legend? Valentine knows a little something about sound. As the lead singer and frontman of the Electric Six, he's spent over twenty years hearing his tunes played through speakers. While Valentine hasn't owned a car in a while, he does have opinions on jamming inside of them. We played songs from the band's latest album Bitch, Don't Let Me Die to see if Revel truly delivers on it's bold claims. Related Video: Celebrities Lincoln Ownership music audio sound system
