This is a one owner and the most spectacular Mark IV in the world. I went to the Lincoln dealership with my grandfather in 1976 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to take delivery. He specially ordered this. My grandfather only drove it once in a while until his passing in 1982. The vehicle had 9000 miles on it at that time. It remained in our familyuntiI I purchased it from my father 5 years ago with 22000 miles on it. It had been sitting for years and years at my Aunts farm in a barn. Me being an avid car nut my whole life had an Idea. I took out the entire powertrain and it should make Jay Leno proud. The motor is a bored and stroked 460 now a 555 cu rocket. It has been balanced and blueprinted and produces around 650 hp with 600 lb ft of tire roasting torque. The transmission ( C-6 ) has been completely rebuilt as well. 3500 stall converter with entire new internals and it is bullet proof. The rear is a Detroit Locker with 4:30 gears. It has custom made headers and exaust. I will tell you that this is the fastest Lincoln in the world!!!!!! I havent raced it but I will tell you that it will probably destroy any muscle car on the road yet looking completely stock..... I have had a love affair with this car my whole life, I'm now 45. I have probably spent somewhere around $ 30,000 in restoring the vehcile. I took off the body when all the work was performed and replaced everything with the best of the best. The sound is incredible and floats straight down the road. Put your foot in it and your gone.I will consider trades plus cash. Thanks. 904-625-2620

2016 Lincoln MKX images and details hit the web
Sat, Jan 10 2015Well, what do we have here? In what we're assuming is an accidental leak, a live URL from Lincoln Canada has been brought to our attention, and it's chock full of information on a new 2016 Lincoln MKX that we figure will most likely see an introduction at the Detroit Auto Show right around the corner. "Inspired by airplane design," says Lincoln, we see a good bit of the smaller MKC in the design of the next MKX, and that's a good thing. We note HID lights with LED accents, a Panoramic Vista Roof, a hands-free power liftgate and a 360-degree camera mounted behind the front Lincoln emblem as tasty exterior details to look forward to. Inside is what appears to be a pretty darn beautiful cabin, with available Bridge of Weir leather seats with optional heating and cooling, plus 22-way adjustability. Open-pore wood in either walnut swirl of olive ash looks classy, and the newly available Revel audio with 13 or optionally 19 speakers ought to work well with the car's active noise control to provide a serene driving experience. We're not entirely sure what infotainment system the 2016 Lincoln MKX will boast, but the images appear to show a version of the much-maligned MyLincoln Touch interface, and not the upcoming Sync 3, although at least there is more physical switchgear for the HVAC, as on the MKC. As far as the vehicle's engine and chassis, we see mention of an available twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost, but there's no power rating just yet – we know it will be more than 300 horsepower, but how much more is still unknown. There's no mention of the 2016 MKX's transmission, which makes us think it will probably offer the same six-speed unit as the Ford Edge. On the plus side, there will be adaptive steering to go along with three driving modes – Normal, Comfort and Sport. Lincoln Drive Control with continuously controlled damping also sounds beneficial. That's all we know so far, but we're looking forward to getting all the details, hopefully in just a few days, since the vehicle is said to be hitting showrooms in the summer of 2015. In the meantime, check out the image gallery above, and feel free to read a lengthy discussion about the leak at the FordInsideNews.com forum. Lincoln recycling tree fibers into new MKX armrest
Thu, Feb 27 2014Want to hug a tree, or at least a really small part of one. Then set your arm down on one of those armrests in the 2014 Lincoln MKX crossover. The US automaker is working with Weyerhaeuser and Johnson Controls on a tree-based, cellulose-reinforced polypropylene material used in the component that connects the armrest to the floor console, Wards Auto says. With properties similar to plastic, the tree-based material replaces fiberglass and is about six percent lighter. No big deal for now, but if the material starts getting used for things like battery trays and interior storage covers, that loss in weight may eventually start adding up enough to boost fuel economy a bit, providing a green double bonus. Lincoln parent Ford, which isn't saying how much more (or less?) it costs to use the new material, established its Biomaterials and Plastics Research team in 2001. In 2007, the company began using soy-based foam in car seats used for models such as the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Mustang and has since broadened biomaterials use to components like floormats and cupholder inserts. Ford also used recycled plastic bottles from the 2012 North America International Auto Show for seats in the Focus Electric.
