You are viewing my 1975 Lincoln Mark IV luxury group edition in brilliant gold with corresponding tan leather interior with dark brown saddle strap accents. It is a two-owner, 44K mile automobile with a strong 460 cu in motor and all the power accessories including ice cold A/C. A full tune-up was just performed and tires installed so she's ready to be driven. It is nearly flawless and I urge anyone interested in it to come look at it in person. The paintwork is the best I have ever seen and it has to be one of the most impressive Mark IV's anywhere. It is literally the color of pure gold. I've included a photo of a brake rotor and caliper I took when the tires were being put on to give you an indication of just how well-preserved this car is in every way. The undercarriage is as impressive as the exterior. Additionally, I was even able to locate the build sheet, which was a real treat. I was just out for a drive the other day under a cloudless sky and the way the sunlight is taken up be the paintwork on that incredible hood is absolutely impossible to put into words. And with the A/C keeping the cabin cool and comfortable and the radio playing flawlessly, it was vintage cruising at its best. 2nd SET OF WHEELS COMES WITH THE CAR: I am including with the car a set of four beautiful Dayton wire wheels on Vogue Tyre Wide Track Touring tires (235/70R15). These are just perfect and roll very smooth down the road. The lug bolts have only been turned twice, once going on, once coming off. I elected to outfit the car with original factory Lincoln wheels and brand new tires, but the Daytons are very striking indeed. The owner of the tire shop that did the mounting for me feels that the Dayton/Vogue package is about a $2,200 investment, so that between those and the original factory wheels and new tires, there's about $3700 in wheels with this Lincoln. Here is a portion of an email I received from a Lincoln collector concerning this particularly rare car: ...About your Mark IV: The luxury groups offered a specific combination of colors and trims that weren't available otherwise. Your Mark IV is..... The Gold Luxury Group offered Bronze Gold Diamond Fire paint with a Gold Flare vinyl roof. The interior was Tan Leather with Saddle-colored cross straps and a unique sew style. For further reference please see the attached website: http://automotivemileposts.com/mark41975selections.shtml This is an incredible automobile, so I'd really like to see it go to a new owner that will have more time to drive than I have had. If you submit an offer that I am considering I will send you an email through ebay just to confirm you are a serious buyer and that you understand all the terms of an accepted offer. I find things work better that way. Please let me know if you have any questions and please view the video and the 80+ photos at the links below. http://www.flickr.com/photos/97286492@N06/sets/72157634163474011/ I try to post sets of photos of all my cars on flickr, so please feel free to check them out while you are viewing the Mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI4BDYNrI8Y I'm always looking for great classics, so I would entertain interesting trades as well.

Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes
Sun, Nov 5 2017The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A. Is Lincoln working on a Continental concept?
Wed, Mar 25 2015The Lincoln Continental wasn't included in our post on the list of trademarks we'd like to see turned into production vehicles – the only Lincoln mention was our idea of transferring its Aviator name to a special edition Ford Mustang. But, like you, the idea of a resurrected Continental is always with us, especially when we read articles about the brand's efforts to redefine American luxury. Ford applied for the Continental trademark in 1953 and renewed in 2005, and it appears they might have something to show for it soon. A web snooper found a development site at the Lincoln domain that introduces us to the "elegantly styled and boldly distinctive Lincoln Continental Concept." There are no images, but we've combined all the text into a single image, above, and the hints we get in three blurb texts inform us that "It represents who we are as a carmaker," that it's an "envisioning of what's to come," that "No question went unanswered" and "No answer went unchallenged," and that it "is everything we know about cars, and everything we understand about people." We also found the tagline "Follow us forward," which doesn't appear on any published Lincoln site page at the moment, and the public is invited to get involved (eventually) by tweeting Continental stories and photos. Could this be the next step in the turgid drama Lincoln Rising? We look forward to finding out. Related Video:
Jim Hackett says metal tariffs costing Ford $1 billion in profits
Wed, Sep 26 2018Ford CEO Jim Hackett divulged in an interview with Bloomberg that the Trump administration's tariffs on metals imported from the European Union, Canada and Mexico have affected the automaker's balance sheet, adding that trade disputes need a quick resolution. "From Ford's perspective, the metals tariffs took about $1 billion in profit from us," Hackett told the outlet. "The irony is we source most of that in the U.S. today anyways. We're in a good place right now, but if it goes on longer there will be more damage." Hackett did not specify what period the $1 billion covered, but a Ford spokesman said the CEO was referring to internal forecasts at Ford for higher tariff-related costs in 2018 and 2019. President Trump in March announced his intention to enact 25 percent tariffs on steel imports and 10 percent on imported aluminum from the three trade zones as a way to protect the U.S. steel industry. The move sent U.S. automakers' stock prices plunging at a time when they were coming off weak monthly sales reports. Separately, President Trump has targeted China with two rounds of tariffs targeting a combined $260 billion worth of imports. China has responded by enacting 25-percent tariffs on U.S. goods including vehicle imports. In the interview, Hackett said that has hurt demand for Lincoln, which has found a growing market for its luxury vehicles in China, and made the price of the Lincoln MKC less attractive to Chinese buyers. The MKC is built at the company's Louisville, Ky. assembly plant. "We've had to move people in that factory to other operations because of that trade problem," he said. It's not clear what those moves entail or how many workers were involved. Autoblog sought comment from a Ford spokeswoman and will update this story if we hear back. Ford last month announced it was scrapping plans to import the Focus Active small crossover to the U.S. from China because of the new 25-percent tariffs on Chinese imports.
